To be honest online class is just school but even more useless and way more tiresome

I'm one of the people who gets distracted a lot and finds it hard to focus. Online school is way more easier to get distracted and lose focus. I find it hard to pay attention to my lectures and do my homework, so I get even more stressed out.

Teachers: "There's no class today" Also Teachers: *gives homeworks*

Kids: I can't wait to stop staring at screens all day for studies Computer science students: wait, there's an option to stop?

Y’know what’s funny is that I always find it cool to try online class. I always find it fascinating bc you don’t have to get dressed and you can be in your pajamas all day. I always adore it bc in movies you see the rich and privileged kids do it. I remember I was so jealous of them doing online class.I really thought it’ll be fun. But then corona came my wish got granted I get to experience online school I wanted to see what was so exciting about it. The first few months back in March of 2020 went really well. Then when it got further down in the year I lost it. I was so unmotivated to do school. When I email the teachers for help they take so long to response with their slow emails that’s like 3 hours late. I went from being an a-b honor roll to having d’s c’s even f’s. It was the first time ever in my life I have failed really badly. Not even one b or a. All failing grades. And now I actually wish to be in the school building where I can take actual notes and not just type everything out on computer... I can’t wait to tell my future kids that they don’t have to go through this...

Teachers: “go outside, take a walk. spend more time with family” Also teachers: *drops like 15 assignments* im about to end this student’s whole sleep schedule

The worst thing is when u r at school, teachers may or may not give you homework.But in online classes, they can literally assign anything at any time of the day and expect you to complete it by that day.... Like WTF?

I’d rather have three hour long lectures to actually understand the content than a teacher just giving out the work for you to do.

I’ve been so saddened so depressed and just non motivated I’m very stressed and mad I used to have great grades but know I fell I will fail. The teachers don’t even care if you’re learning the topic/module they just want to quickly get through all of them as fast as they can. The same assignments they spent years in college to learn and expect us to learn it in a day or two

Online class is worse than going to school. I easily get so distracted by everything around me so I end up doing the work late because of that, and I also tend to procrastinate a lot because of my bad sleeping habits, which results in me being scolded because I’m missing my classes. Also, the fact that I have learning difficulties makes it even more tricky. I wish can go back to school so I don’t have to worry about this crap.

Me who has been in online school my whole life: I am -4 parallel universes ahead of you. No, seriously. I can barely sleep and I have no friends. My mom tells me “You can just make friends with the other people in the neighborhood”, but she won’t sign me up for social skills classes, and the other kids just pretend like I don’t exist anyway.

My school tried to enforce a policy where your profile picture had to be your face. Very few people followed it, myself included. Some teachers attempt to enforce a keep-your-camera-on policy, which was kind of useless because they can't make your camera turn on and kicking you out of the meeting would make it their fault that you didn't learn (again, almost no one followed it).

You forgot one thing: when you dont watch the lecture cuz it's recorded and you're planning to watch it another time before the next lecture but you dont and that keeps happening every lecture until they pile up and you find yourself miles behind the curriculum😂😭

Well, for number one, the better way to explain things is that you're not moving around much, you don't feel the usual fresh outdoor air that keeps your body more awake compare to home (sitting on your bed, desk or whatever), it's quiet and you're not chatting to anyone so your entire body is pretty unoccupied.

I've been doing online classes for a while now, and I've already gone through 7-8 classes whilst failing most of them. The work I did complete I had to teach myself, and the rest I had to cram because I suck at remembering I have class, never learned anything from them, am diagnosed with depression and an attention deficit. On the paper handouts for math I got a 98%, on every other class I barely got above a 40% especially English & science since they both involve research and reading, and the faster I read the less I retain... I probably failed my English again but I don't know yet.

I have a teacher that on every Friday she always lets us do show and tell and hang out with our classmates. That’s how I made 1 friend in online class ✨

I was in an English lesson, but I was just trying to have my breakfast at the time and was way too tired to listen so I just said that I was having trouble with connecting (I mean, I was since it would disconnect every now and then-) and ate my breakfast. Then, my friend texts me and says 'hey, miss gave you a house point for trying to join the lesson even though you had issues' I felt SO SO SO bad after that, I literally watched the recording of her lesson twice and still haven't missed any of her lessons since then XD

The problem with online school is that we basically go to school for 2 things. Learning and interacting with other people. With interacting out of the way, you get the boring part, learning. And so you ask yourself, why do I have to go to school when I got RU-vid?

The fact that some people turn off chat is really shitty, too. Literally disallowing you to make friends. I made ONE friend during online school.

In my dance class we have to watch a video of the dance and dance at the same time, but we also have to turn on our cameras, and I mean everyone. This in turn causes a shitload of lag and we can’t dance properly (and also get confused because one moment the videos dancers are on the ground and the next they’re doing a handstand). We all turn off our cameras to stop the lag but then the teacher’s like “I have to send this to the principal so if you don’t turn on your cameras then you’ll be marked absent”. Then the teacher wonders why we suck at dancing (because we can’t see how the fucking dance works).

My soul is sucked out of my body every day for four hours and I'm left being a empty husk the rest of the day
