Speaking of masks, you need to add a Nott mask to the Critical Role shop where the mask is the bottom half of a porcelain doll's face like Nott used to wear
Because Sam can't Google: One thousand origami cranes (千羽鶴, senbazuru; literally “1000 cranes”) is a group of one thousand origami paper cranes (折鶴, orizuru) held together by strings. An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the gods A thousand paper cranes are often given to a person who is seriously ill, to wish for their recovery. They are usually created by friends, classmates, or colleagues as a collective effort. Another common use is for sport teams or athletes, wishing them victories. Cranes are a symbol of peace, and are thus often seen at war memorials.
@@lancel.3897 There is this story about a girl who was in a hospital in Hiroshima after the bomb dropped, who started but died before she could finish. Since then the peace memorial in Hiroshima gets cranes from all over, from school classes, kindergarten, etc. They place these cranes around the "children's peace monument" a statue of a girl with a paper crane.
It gives me so much joy to know that Matt Mercer goes through full gamer rage moments. It's just funny imagining cool and collected Matt shouting profanities at Dark Souls' wonky camera controls.
Just wanna say that the first episode back of Talks Machina needs to be a special "Dogs Machina" where the dogs of Liam, Sam, and Matt and Marisha are sitting on the couch being interviewed by Henry. I think it would be a very successful episode :D
I also can’t imagine her ever wearing a skirt, these two items of clothing are not conducive to the back alley brawling that she surely partakes in as a light hobby.
It’s her outfit from C2E29 when they were live at Indianapolis! I thought it was cool how they used a live show outfit but I agree that the ‘sleeves are bullshit’ Marisha is iconic
Hah, I love how descriptive you guys are! Truly. I think Marisha does kick ass, but like any girl who loves variety, she will sometimes change it up. I am super tomboy, don't let my profile pic fool you. But on occasion, I will absolutely put a skirt on, and wear sleeves in winter, or a sweet leather jacket. (But sweater vests should die a fiery death. It's time. Uggs too. Oh, and men...your Speedos are unholy inventions designed to accentuate your floppy dongle and his sack of junk...and I am so done with those things. Your penis is a cosmic joke, created for the soul purpose to torture and control you. Anything else you believe about it, is simply just a means to justify an otherwise highly inconvenient need for procreation, which is vital for human survival, but ultimately unnecessary when you can just harvest it and store it away for later.) Just kidding. 😊😬hisssssss
@@popinjayishuman We only see them in their chilling cloths, Marisha is well pretty, im sure she wears dresses and more girly cloths when she goes out out with Matt lol.
I'd love to see all the CR dogs in the same room. Sprigg, Rig and Omar, the tiniest things on the planet, plus the absolute giants that are Henry and Bullock.
I've admired Marisha for years - she has a great solo panel (available on RU-vid ) way before C2 which is so uplifting I think I'm gonna find it again today. The Cinnamon Roll hug at the end may never be able to happen again :( Mental hugs, Critters!
Marisha talking about the behind the scenes thoughts while playing on CR is so insightful, we usually don't hear from it. I love that she kept the cranes. Also Omar is the cutest thing ever!
Seeing these people unafraid to tackle tough conversations and topics like this makes it a little easier to deal with on a personal level. It’s nice to know none of us are alone in these feelings. Thank you so much, to all of you, for being a warm spark of joy in these very difficult times. ❤️
@@kelsey9114 I mean, right? I used to get perturbed by the fact that Americans bring their dogs everywhere and dress them up and crap like that, but then I look and see how it makes the person feel and I recognise that we all are so damn silly all the time. All of us. Humans are just goofy ass monkeys in clothing. And you know what? It's fine. I just wish we'd stop being so selfish all the time, you know?
Ah the puppy talk is (chef's kiss) everything the world needs right now. Also, Marisha defending Laura and The Last of Us 2 made me smile...I think we all hope we have a friend like that.
Now that they're all dog people, are we going to start getting some doggie critrole merch??? Doggie costumes??? Character themed squeaky toys??? One of those ball-throwing sticks that motion activated shouts "Eldritch Blast!"???
Best thing about BootieMashup Fridays is Matt's drunken heartfelt ramblings on chat. That channel was a godsend (thanks to Matt and Marisha) during the early days of quarantine. Also, about 95% of the new global audience are Critters :)
Liam being mystified at the idea of an inflatable above-ground pool at the beginning is adorable for some reason. Being a Midwesterner, that's 90% of the pools around where I live, in-ground pools are for the rich families.
Middle-class get steel-rimmed vinyl sided pools. The upper class, the regular rich get steel or fiberglass above ground pools. And the ultra-rich would have inground pools.
I'm from the UK, in-ground pools are for the ultra rich, but pretty much everyone and their mother has owned a plastic inflatable pool at some point or anything
Omg I made the dragons!!! I was taking a internet break when this came out and only just now noticed the lamp in the recent episode of CR. It’s so cool you guys!
@@isobelmoody8328 I feel you: my personal bugbear is baby-related ads. Like, hey google, I don't have children, I don't really like children, and according to your ad settings, you _know this about me already._ Ofc I know it's some sexist crap in the algorithm related to my age and gender that gives me those ads anyway, despite them being irrelevant. Which is dumb bc making shitty assumptions means advertisers will actively sell less stuff lol.
@@sweetpeabee4983 well its not sexist, it sure is dumb, but its a "shotgun" effect. A cool way to avoid that is to press "i don't like this advertisement".
It's really nice to see the cast just hanging out. All this is is a couple of friends hanging out in a weird time, that just happens to have a few thousand people watching. It's super awesome to see. Edit: I also think I remember the thousand origami cranes arriving in the very early episodes. That's cool to see they kept it! Does anyone know who folded all of them?
C1, episode 50. They had a big Critmas run and they were given a massive box of origami dragons by a critter with friends. I guess these are them? The reason for gifting was that they wanted to give something, and the reason was as such they mention in this video. When gifted a thousand paper cranes, you get a wish. The timestamp in that video for where this is opened is 4:28:43. I watched this video yesterday, so it was still fresh in mind.
Are we sharing cool facts? I've got one: There is a microbe named Pseudomonus Syringae that lives on plant leaves and tree canopies. This little bacteria has tiny spikes all over it that catch water out of the air and hold it in the perfect orientation to form ice crystals. When the wind picks up over forests it catches lots of these bacteria and carries them into the stratosphere where they literally gather water and ice and form clouds, rain drops, and hail. Pseudomonus grow particularly well on tea plants, so tea plantations will often have huge thunderstorms downwind during windy times of the year. This little bacteria is supposed to be the most common rain nucleation particle over continental landmasses, and is directly responsible for most of the rain that falls inland (I've seen some variation in the estimates, but I've never seen a calculation attributing less than 60% of continental rainfall to the environmental effect of Pseudomonus Syringae). Also Pseudomonus Syringae Americana is a man made genetic mutation of the original bacteria. It was essentially blasted with radiation to see how it would react, and the scientists ended up with a strain of the bacteria that was perfectly smooth, and instead of catching water and forming ice it repels water and interferes with both ice and cloud nucleation. It was the very first genetically modified organism to be released in the wild, and is used particularly in California to prevent frost from blighting strawberry crops.
@@whoanellynelnel3874 I have now. Thanks, I wouldn't have without your comment, and if it wasn't obvious. I love collecting hyper specific information :)
I love Marisha so much. It breaks my heart that people feel the need to be shitty to her on the internet for some reason. If you ever read this, just know, Marisha you're a badass.
As a stick named Omar myself, I 100% would like to welcome little dog Omar into the now growing Omar population in the world. Cheers to you! Marisha and Matt for naming him Omar, long may he live. :)
I would just like to take a moment to appreciate the incredible beauty of Marisha Ray. The most stunning thing of all is that even that doesn't hold a candle to her talent and skill. (eventually, I will tip the scale of Marisha related comments into the net positive)
Quick shout out to everyone at CR: you know the bit where Marisha says that the people behind the entertainment are in it with us? I hope you all know that we are in this with you too, guys. Much love. ❤️
I'm glad that Marisha talked about how people in rural areas can now experience some of these things. My parents have been huge Star Trek fans for decades and this is the first time they're able to experience SDCC.
The world is such a strange place. They talk about resurgence, while I sit in a flat in Austria on two weeks of vacation and you see NOTHING that points to a pandemic going on. No one is wearing face masks, no one is paying attention to social distancing. It is unnerving. And in two days I'll be back to Germany and have to go back to observing all those precautions. Surreal.
I agree, it's completely surreal. All my family is in America. And when I call them, they talk about how they're still stuck in home after months, weathering resurgances and attempting to work around all these restrictions. My mom's lucky to have a desk job. Meanwhile I'm in New Zealand. When I ask people how they're doing, hardly anyone brings up the pandemic anymore. There's no soical distancing anymore. So few people wear masks. I work at stadiums during rugby games sometimes.
Quotenwagnerianer we had that in Spain for some time... Some regions were “free” of the virus, while others were confined at home. Now that the second wave has arrived, we’re all getting confined again or forced by law to wear masks. Just bc people didn’t follow either the law or the recommendations for weeks. At least we have these goofy people to brighten our days a bit
As an Austrian I might add, that some of us would be actually VERY glad, if people would pay more attention to social distancing, wearing masks in crowded places etc. But just in like many other countries (I guess), we have quite an amount of self-centered dumbf---s who just don't care, if we face another spike in infections etc. Personally, it makes me angry - very.

Hält sich hier um Imst und Oetz keine Sau dran. Nur in der Kabinenbahn in Zamst hatten sie alle eine auf.
I thoroughly enjoy the cast of Critical Role. Having just now caught up on Campaign 2, watching them and learning from them how to be a better DM/player, and watching these extraneous shows has only solidified that love. After watching AWNP unP I've learned that many of my own world and political stances both coincide and differ greatly from their's. That being said, never have I seen people tackle topics such as these with so much respect, understanding, and maturity as them. We certainly don't think the same, but I can't help but want to learn from them so as to mature my own perceptions. Thank you, Critical Role, for your unending reserves of patience and love.
Their pups not liking cold cracks me up. Im in IL. I struggle to get my dog to come inside when its less then 10 degrees outside because my dogs love snow so much
/Matthew game rage part/ honestly when I picture game rage throwing controls do come to mind,, but Matthew is just so sweet I can't see it like,, his occasional "children...," Moments, but then she says he's basically the "silent rage quit" type and that's still kinda sweet and fits him so well /moral of the story, Matt is even more favorite "cast" member/
I love this show and all its Corgi twerking! All I have to say about The Last of us 2 is that anybody who complains about it is evidence that it was SUPER EFFECTIVE!
Times are hard. And honestly I'm content knowing that people know how hard it is during these times. I love you guys, you understand what the isolation means for a lot of people and all I can do is tell you, you aren't alone. It will get better and hope you are all well
Not Quite An Answer: Corgis are odd about water - they're very individual in reaction. Some love it; my girls liked a bit of paddling, and then wanted out. My first corgi turned into a sinking fear monster in a pool.
While I didn't like the most of the narrative aspects of TLOU2 (the excellent Joel/Ellie flashbacks notwithstanding), I agree that the performances from the cast were phenomenal! It always pains me when I see reviewers not mentioning the quality voice acting when talking about things other than the story, and I've only seen maybe two or three credible people give the VA's their due praise. Laura and Ashley were stellar with what they were given, and they sounded so real and visceral that I better understand why Brian had some trouble playing through the first game. Of course, that's not to say they were the only great performances! Troy was great, as expected, but the CR cast and other awesome VA's were awesome whenever I was able to recognize them. Sorry, dunno where this quick spiel came from, but I just needed to get that out there. Much love, y'all!
Switched from the podcast to YT for this episode cause Marisha’s sound on podcast has a bit of a background noise on it and I am glad cause I get to see the dog photos and see Marisha looking gorgeous...:-)
I never played TLOU 1 or 2, but I can sympathize with fans because it sounds like it got the Game of Thrones season 8 treatment, but Laura and Ashley are amazing and idk why anyone would take their frustrations out on them. The internet, you know?
Husband and I finished it 2 days ago, it isnt everyones cup of tea. But we both loved the game and honestly feel that people are just angry for the sake of it. The writing and pacing are very different from other games so I get why its not for everyone but I really enjoyed it. Husband felt the ending was too slow and could have been cut. I enjoyed the ending . People taking it out on the actors is just stupid and need to get a life.
It's still a bit mindboggling to me, here the world is almost starting to return towards normal, borders are opening so people can go on holiday. Meanwhile, America sounds like it's going through a completely different timeline from us.
Living in London it looks depressingly like they are just running a few weeks ahead of us. We're at the "open everything, I'm sure that won't cause a second wave" stage right now.
It's sort of a benefit to having an ocean on either side of us. Trouble is even though we saw what was happening in Asia and Europe months in advance we did nothing about it until it actually reached our Shores
That OrphanMaker shirt is SO badass! First time seeing it, now I have to own one. All my metal head friends will be the most confused ever, and I'm going to love every moment of it.
I started this series in reverse and I can’t believe I missed this series 🤣! Their antics are hilarious! I love Liam’s man cave. I hope Sam and Liam give us a tour of their man caves! Also, Marisha looks amazing with her hair up! Edit: Now we need to have a lets play with Matt Mercer 🤣 Edit2: Now I’m imagining Marisha and Matt getting giddy when they visit a craft store 🤣
I get Marisha, I & a group of friends started my own d&d channel, and once we got over the first hump of "how do we do this regularly" the lockdown hit and we basically had to start over from scratch and now try to rebuild. Adapting to the pandemic is tough, and feel bad for anyone else just starting out right before the world changed. I'm glad to hear CR team are working as hard as they are to adapt and get stronger from this, it's really awesome and inspiring.
42:00 I saw an interview Laura did with KindafFunny(Link to the interview ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x2kosboYHeQ.html ) about TLoU II & she said that at one point she got so much hate that she just cried in Travis arms...On the other hand she also said that she herself hated a LOT of the aspects of the game. She downright said that she hated her character(not her voice acting), but the way the character was written & behaved, as well several elements of the story. Personally I was disappointed like many others...Yet it is insane to blame Laura personally for playing a character that she herself had a lot of problems with. Even to the point were the hate got so intense that she cried about it...Come on people
Speaking of weird quarantine dreams, I had one a couple of nights ago. I was on a city bus that was hijacked by the Joker, who mind-controlled the bus driver, and Matt and Marisha were two of the passengers. Us three had to figure out how to stop the bus.
I am caught up to Critical Role campaign 2 and now I must wait like the rest of us until Thursday night! But circling back to AWNP UNP'd is so amazing.
This is such good content. Thank you Marisha, Liam, and Sam. Your friendship and caring sets an example and provides a little respite in this fucking bullshit dark time.
