It's a bummer they cancelled the Ch2 in the new ESC, so Furitek and similars can no longer plug in the original electronics! I think it's important to mention that change!!
That looks wicked!! Love the longer wheelbase! Gotta love a Gladiator Body and the added accessories. Really like the velcro, as you said those little clips are great for stabbing under your finger nails..LoL Thanks for sharing 👍 Will this go BL?
Are the lipos safe to handle for beginners and casual rc fans though? Everyone on rc forums keep saying you need special balance chargers etc and fireproof bags when charging yet these are shipped with simple usb chargers and no other safety precautions or instructions!
Finally got mine! ANYONE complaining about the tiny price increase on these is nuts. Even without the longer wheelbase, scale details, etc, the new radio and speed controller etc is a HUGE improvement!
Hey guys! Have you seen the 32g brass 16spoke wheels from Jazrider yet? got some and they added 80grams over the other wheels, also have you used the GoodYear Wranger MT's yet cause they are so sticky, run sealed with no foam and do they grab :)
I'm liking this! I keep asking my local RadioShack when they'll be in. I have the Deadbolt but I did the four link conversion on it to extend the length and put it on a 3D printed frame from SKP Engineering. Brass wheel spacers and brass knuckles. Upgraded the servo with the EMax ES08MDii. I have the RC4WD Mud Slingers 2.4" tires on RC4WD wagon wheels flipped around. I still haven't upgraded the motor, but it's going well so far. I've got video of it on my neighbor's track. My Chevy I only replaced the frame with a carbon fiber one, the servo, Hot Racing shocks and EMax ES08MDii servo. Some cheap, fancier wheels and tires.
Love your enthusiasm, but as with most guys into RC crawling, it seems you expect to jump in your Landrovers/Jeeps and are disappointed if you fail to drive straight over your house? It's just not the expectation of scale & reality.
Just saw this in the hobby store today. It's looks better in real life, vids don't do it justice. The blue would be my choice. The extras make for a good value over the previous models. Well, if you want the extras.
Pro Tip: If you have a SCX24 Deadbolt specifically, attach the body clips to roll cage when not in use so you don't lose them. Two of the bars on top are thin enough to comfortably snap those clips onto.
I have Deadbolt and was about to purchase a C10 then this Gladiator was released. I'm in the UK so I now have a Gladiator on order so I can't wait to see the improvements you guys make. I really enjoy your vids keep up the good work guys 👍🏴
Yup bought mine on Saturday. I too put the hyrax on the truck. I'll have to get the rims though. Put new shocks on it too. I'm not going to go over board on the upgrades. Good little truck.
They should have maybe left the accessories as an aftermarket option. That would maybe keep the price closer to the other versions and make it less top heavy.
Great video as always Francis. I’m really digging this new mini, but it highlights one of the weakest points of the platform, the steering. Does anyone have a fix to get more angle from these trucks? Even my C-10 struggles to make tight turns with an Ecopower servo installed.
@@Roadnuts86 fury tech makes an ESC with big bec for those crawler that you can run high voltage servos on. You need a transmitter where you can actually set the endpoints and then you can only turn it though is much as the linkage in the car will physically allow you to turn.
@@metalmulishaz123 appreciate the info. I do have a furitek on the way, but I was hoping to be able to get more steering angle out of the stock electrics but with a linkage change. Something more budget friendly!
@@Roadnuts86 yeah as far as the play in the front steering one of the first things I purchased was some metal front steering links and haven't had any issues with slap in the steering sense.
I don't even like Gladiators yet can't resist this one. I think the long wheelbase and the scale accessories really do it for me. I'm hoping Axial comes out with different bodies on this chassis soon.
