I'm watching the series for the 3rd time, not played in ages need to refresh the rules, great vids. The only thing I would say is you have to roll the AA guns separate for each factory or base other wise if you hit the attacker will just take off his tacs lol
Thanks GHG for making this video. It was easy to follow and your examples were great. I much more confident on how strategic bombing works. Thanks again! Cheers! John
I have a couple of questions. When you are rolling against a bombing raid, don't you need to roll all different facilities separately? That way, if you score two hits, the attacker can't choose to just lose the tacs instead of the strats? Also, there is an airbase on Moscow. Can you scramble to adjacent land territories or only into sea zones? Thanks.
quick question, i see that there are aa for combating aircraft. How would combat work if it were say tactical bombers vs infantry? Would all the infantry simply be strafed or is there something I am forgetting. I assume the infantry cant just shoot down tactical and strategic bombers
Well stated question, I don't remember any war stories about infantry divisions shooting down strategic bomber formations, but divrbombers would certainly be close enough to be shot up by ground units.
I also have gliders in my Airborne Rules but I haven't ordered any of the pieces yet, so I've just been using little paper ones! I will explain the rules for them in the Airborne Rules video!
Great video, but I have a question about strategic bombing raids. 1, what is the max number of interceptors you can have? 2, after the attacked makes it past the interceptors, what fires at them?
1. There is no limit to the number of interceptors. You can have as many as you have defending fighters. 2. Each facility (factory, naval base, air base) has a built-in anti-aircraft gun. It only fires at the bombers that make it through the interceptors and not at the escorts.
GHG. A couple of observations are worth noting. I believe that if you attack in the unfriendly neutral from an aircraft that aircraft can move in any direction during its noncombat me after the attack on the neutral territory. Also I believe it is important to roll the built in anti-aircraft dice separately against each incoming bomber that is proceeding to them as a target because if you do not need allows the attacker to choose the casualties most convenient to him if you roll a one as the offender.Tef
I'm not sure what you mean by the first statement about the neutral territories. The rules are very clear that you can't fly over any type of neutral territory. If you've attacked one with a plane of course you can fly away in any direction as long as you don't fly over a neutral territory. At the bottom left of page 17 of the Europe rulebook the very last thing it says is " For each 1 rolled, a bomber of the attacker's choice is immediately removed." I believe that they mean that each base or complex rolls against the bombers attacking against it but that the attacker can choose any bomber from that particular base as a casualty. I should have been more clear about that.
GeneralHandGrenade right. specifically what Col Tefster was thinking was about the Ftr that starts from Czecho hits with the gang softening up Yugo and then moves on during NCM to reinforce Tobruk. since the rules do not provide a caveat for flying over neutrals like say "except when attacking them" technically we should not be allowed to so that since we just flew over Yugo.. .. eventhough it was, well yoouuuu knowww, hmmm, how do we say, a low level strafing run. :-)
....no air transport planes? I like to have those as a seperate unit for Airborne and cargo. They move 6, have no attack/defense, but can drop Airborne in combat move and transport Regular Infantry in non combat move. I'll explain more in my Airborne House Rules video..... I haven't been on lately because we're remodeling.
