The game was over turn 7 but I kept watching anyways. Great video. I’m not sure if you know this but AA guns can be used to satisfy a loss. Therefore the USA wouldn’t have wanted to attack Japan.
I think the biggest part for the allied victory is the element of surprise which is a little harder in a solo so understandable. But being able to land and take any territory surprising the axis it’s just important to take advantage of ur IPC advantage at the start with the combined allies until the us arrive just being a menace and wasting axis IPC
Quick correction: even if China was fully knocked out, any Allied liberation of Chinese territories still return ownership of that territory to China. This is because China doesn't have a capitol.
I’m curious, why did allied industrial complexes disappear when captured by the Axis? Germany should have a minor in Normandy and southern France after they capture them from France, and one in Leningrad, Stalingrad, and Ukraine after capturing them from the Soviet Union. I know that if a major complex is captured it is immediately downgraded to a minor (since you can’t own a major complex outside of your original territory) but I thought if you captured a minor factory you got to keep it?
@@panzerj3158 totally not true. When capturing enemy territory you will get the minor complex. Also air and navalbase. Rulebook. Greetings from Jamay Eekhof. The Netherlands.
@@jtheekhof4921 thank you for the clarification. I knew that the air and naval bases stay in operation but I thought minor complexes for eliminated. I think I was confusing the minor complex rules for axis and allies with HBG Global War.
I really feel like the game stands and falls with russia... So you should try and support russia more with the other allies! When russia had norway you could have brought the french and some brithish fighters there and put them into moskau the next turn. I know russia looses the bonus but 5 fighters is waaay more than you will ever get out of that. An other option is flying them in from kairo or india or even building a factory in persia. Great game though! Thanks for the content!
Thank you! Yes it is a good option for the UK to land fighters in Russia to add support. I think with Germany putting down a major factory down in Romania turn 1 it is very hard for Russia to resist all those units Germany has by the time they invade.
Hi Panser J, One thing I have noticed is you really like to bunch things up and this I believe helps out the Axis to the detriment of the Allies. You really need to force the issue of spreading things out...especially against Japan (Both on the ocean and on Asia). Peel back 1 or 2 Russian tanks and let them blitz through some Japanese and Chinese lands instead of allowing Japan to just sit on that IPC money and it will force Japan to run around after the Allies and not be able to concentrate all of its forces against one area of the map. USA needed to land up in Russia to help Russia with Japan....also split up and take some US ships down south to help ANZAC cause some Japanese trouble which in turn will help the Pacific Brits too....bunching up big globs of forces only really helps Japan to win...you must set many little fires and spread them out and by all means...DO NOT let them sit on all that IPC money for large portions of the game...No wonder the bad guys win so often...you are making it too easy for them.
I did use the British to land in some northern Russian territories to help out but the Germans have so much income and respond so quickly they ejected the British in 2 turns. I did plan on using Anzac to start landing on the money islands and try to reduce the Japanese income. It just took a few turns to build up a fleet for the Australians. I could have used the US to help out in the south Pacific but I thought they could apply more pressure going straight to the Japanese home islands.
@@panzerj3158 Yes, our play group almost always builds a minor factory, port and airfield in Alaska so that way they can always be within one move of Japanese homelands...they also ship a small force over into the Soviet Far East to keep places for US planes to land and can crisscross back and forth strategic bombing the homeland Japan major factories and its airport. We generally concentrate 75% or more of US forces to keeping Japan in check...Britain and Russia are on there own until FEC and Anzac are powerful enough to help out US in Pacific...then USA turns more of its attention to Europe and Germany and Italy.
@@panzerj3158 I am curious, do you guys do much strategic bombing of the Axis? Because if we have the bombers and a place to land...we go bomb them...relentlessly! I have heard so many people on RU-vid and various sites saying Axis has a fairly clear advantage...but we have found the exact opposite...Allies seem to win almost all the time.
@@panzerj3158 even with my minor critiques I still love watching your videos btw wish you the best :) as well I'm quite sure I make alot more mistakes lol I've been playing Europe 1940 have been really enjoying it. My first axis and allies game was pacific 1940 (first edition) when I was 10. Now at 21 I've got both halfs. Played a 36 hr global game with my friend. Tomorrow I'm getting started on me vs myself global game.
