Glad to hear you're keepin the jeepin sickness. I like the way you do things, slow and steady so as to not lose the itty bitties. My brother is probably one of the best mechanics I've ever known, but in his haste to get it done he frequently loses the itty bitty parts. Drive me crazy. I'm no mechanic but will try anything. But I do it slowly and methodically. Which drives him crazy. Lol. I'll keep following, I'm hook on Willys and Jeeps. Til our next work session, be safe brother.

It's been a minute since I've used the drum brake tool, but if I recall right the round drum like end on the handle can be used for putting the springs back on or taking them off, just twist the opposite direction. I still have the two-piece in my cj7, and am hoping I never have to tear into it. I like your girlfriend's thinking, but a feller has to make a living selling something!

Of coarse were still here. I may have words with your girlfriend but the last word is she is thinking right. 😆 I know the bearing is a bit of a pain but in the long run it beats the tapered. I got a tough 175 000 on the tapered but loaned it to a friend that did something stupid and finished it off.
