Awesome, I acquired a Rubicon D44 front axle and had it re-geared to 5:13. I really like the gears and just upgraded to 37’s Cooper STT Pro’s.

Similar setup to what I’ve got on my JK. Ultimate Dana 44 front and rear factory 44 beefed up. I’ve beefed them both up as much as possible with trusses and chromolys and lockers etc etc. It’s been bulletproof for my 37s so far.

I ran 37s and beadlocks on my Dana 30/ M186 for about a year. Actually luckily I had zero issues with them but I ultimately swapped/upgraded to UD60s before anything did or could go wrong. But, you're right its a matter of time more than if.

Man I'm honestly feeling pretty good about the m186 seeing how y'all wheel. I suppose I'll truss mine, and regear it for 35s and call it a day. Not sure if I'd throw in a locker or just find a trutrac lsd for it.

For the 4.56s, how did it handle 37s on the highway? I've heard that it's not bad but I'm not sure. As of now, I'm planning on re-gearing for my 35s, and adding an eaton locker in the rear, and keeping the front open for now. I don't really do any crazy wheeling so it's hard to justify a UD44, or swapping rubi axles since it'll have to come with supporting mods like the tie rod etc. I don't go crazy on rocks yet. Option for now was to do a mild build, truss the front axle, and Cs, dynatrac BJs, leave it open, and then wheel it like that on 35s until I start wheeling more often and grow my skills. Just not sure that if that time comes for 37s, if I'll leave it on 4.56s tho

You only showed the right side, if your pretty snug on the left side you can move that out and your right side in to even them out. I have a 2020 diesel JLU so I have the Ultimate 44’s from the factory except I still have the FAD and I was thinking of doing the exact same thing you guys did but I thought it was odd that the Rubicon rear had a pumpkin that was not centered. I’d love to know if your new rear is offset in the middle. If it is I assume it’s not an issue for driveshaft alignment.

Couple question did you use the same knuckles from the Dana 30 and Dana 35? And did you use the same steering link/components? I’m getting take off from rubicon and the end is missing the knuckles tie rod and drag link
@JLLIFEOFFROAD
@JLLIFEOFFROAD 3 года назад
So some steering systems,,,, have sport Vs rubicon specific linkage. Synergy does not. So we reused it, but do not intend on keeping it in. We want something heavier duty. On the M186(dana 30) you will reuse the knuckle and brakes from your old axle. The rear M200 (Dana35) you won't reuse none of it. If you are replying that one with the rubicon M220 (dana44) you will need brakes off of a rubicon (just the rear) the sport axle brakes will not fit over the rotor. Does that help?

Been waiting for this video for so long!!!!!!! That’s crazy that the axle had two leak points. I was wondering if it was going to bend or break with all the wheeling y’all do. My first question, is the one axle wider than the other seeing the one is a rubicon axle or did you get the front rubicon width? So re-use the front “C’s” but the rear came with rubicon “C’s”? I know y’all don’t like the dealership, and I forget what tuner y’all have but are you able to change what the computer is reading, or is it just the gears that it needs to recognize? Fancy tool you got there to get the tie rod and drag link off. I just used a prickle fork on my old tie rod and drag link but if I do my axle swap I’ll have to consider taking care of the ends. I haven’t had locker(air or electric). I’m hoping whichever ones I get they won’t have too many issues. That’s nice the rear came with new brakes. 16:50ish, what’s with the sway bar connections being disconnected or am I seeing something? Nvm y’all explained. When I contacted steer smarts they said just to contact them and it’s just a simple purchase of the tube or something for the width difference. I wouldn’t weld. Have y’all thought about the antirock sway bar kit? Sorry about the long comment. Really have been looking forward to this video since a axle swap on my sport is going to be one of the next big things to my Jeep. Awesome video!!!
