Any ideas why the riving knife is taller than the blade..? For non-through cuts, is it replaced with a shorter version or is it deemed unnecessary..?

Hi Dave, we do not recommend passing timber over the top of the blade and removing the riving knife.

I have been seeking to find out how to make non-through-cuts with this saw. Is it impossible..?

Hello, it is not impossible no. I can confirm that from 4 minutes into this video Craig goes through the dado stack which is available for this machine (code: 104503) and shows it in use. The code for the necessary guarding is 104504. I hope this helps

@@axminster Thanks for the reply. [For those who may be interested, the guard (described in the video as "must have" and "critical") is £740 but is currently not in stock.]. If I bought this guard, and simply wanted to make non-through cuts with a regular blade (not a dado stack), can the riving knife be lowered or must it be removed..?
