Not in this form factor though really depending on a multitude of things the performance can vary widely on these devices from clock speeds to memory speeds to being in this tight ass chassis
AYN was supposed to be the smaller and cheapest 6800u device and they just got reamed. If they weren’t so bad on their delivery and timing they maybe would have stood a chance. Meanwhile I’m enjoying the GPD Win4 the keyboard and mouse are game changers and the psp design is nostalgia overload.
Aya received plenty of backlash for going ahead with the lower end models at the much much higher price. I wonder if Ayn also encountered similar issues and are trying to find a way to deliver at their promised price.
i'm really upset right now with ayn, i've been waiting for almost a month for my unit to being shipped and nothing, they are really bad and irresponsible on delivery, i'm going to cancel my order and buy an ayaneo
@@impheris AYN is a company doing a handheld PC for the 1st time and trying to make it affordable for people. Once they do the PC handheld the 1st time they will know what to do the 2nd time.
The Mendocino and this chip truly can’t be compared the price reflects that Mendocino your pretty much relegated to indie titles and 360/early one gen tripple A games
@@13JacksonMr Aya said they made a huge loss on the 200 units they sold for $269! They had to take this step because months ago they accidentally promised to sell this handheld for these prices! In order not to be labeled as a lying company, they sold limited units because they then realized that the price was actually way too cheap!

Great to see another ayaneo video from you. Here's a question - how are the handhelds as a desktop replacement to those minisforum stuff? especially when plugged into a dongle? and do multi-monitor setup?
Honestly, just get this if it runs your games at a level you're happy with. You'll just end up waiting forever otherwise, since the handheld market is super hot right now and something better is always just a few months away
@@MyNigellus Yup, I love my Deck. Plays all my games just fine, even games like Miles Morales (playing it on the Deck right now). And now that I have the functionality to put the system to sleep while the game is running, just like with a Switch or PSP, I honestly can't live without it. That, and the seamless Steam OS hardware integration in general, is something the Deck will always have over Windows handhelds, even as more powerful ones are coming out

@@iMapleCreator While that is really cool, my worry is that it still won't have the same functionality as a legit Steam Deck, since the Deck is built by Valve and they can optimize everything for that specific hardware. Definitely excited for the official Steam OS iso, but I don't think it will be that different from a regular Linux distro when it runs on anything but official Valve hardware
I love the AN2 but THIS is the device I've been longing for. Its absolutely overkill but all I've wanted was a small device to play all my indies and niche RPGs. The power to play the occasional triple A game and emulation is a great bonus.
I absolutely love my Aya Neo Air pro. Feels like such a premium device, even thought the tech is a bit older(5825u) it still is great for emulation and most AAA gaming. Really excited for this one.
@@HallowKey having 120 hz wouldent all be great, some 2d games are demending even on a good rdna 2 gpu. so I’d go for oiled for better look, unless of course you play 2d games a lot I’d go for 120hz
Luckily, I was able to snag an Intel-based Aya Neo Air Plus for $269! It won't be able to play 3A titles, but I don't care, because that's what I have my Aya Neo 2 with this genious processor for! I value this awesome device for emulation until Nintendo Switch! This premium handheld will set new standards in terms of battery life with this efficient, powerful processor and the very large battery! I'm really looking forward to him! I was happy to pay $90 more but this one wipes the floor with the Anbernic RG405m or Retroid Pocket 3+ who can emulate just a handful of PS2, Gamecube, Wii games! With the Aya Neo Air Plus it is possible to emulate everything up to Nintendo Switch without any problems✌
This could be extremely apprising if it was around the steamdeck price. A coustomer amd processor with rdna 2 around the performance of a 6800u would be a expirence unlike other. Being able to play ps4 level graphics or even ps4 pro at 40 fps would be a golden
Would love to see what HoloISO can bring to the table performance wise on this handheld and see if anything improves on FPS. Also would like to see Overwatch 2 on this guy also.
I've been looking into getting one of these new Neo handhelds for my birthday but saw a comment on Reddit in which the person claimed the batteries on these things are of bad quality -- not the overall battery life but just the quality of the batteries themselves.
Eh the bezel is smaller than the original air and the steam deck. It’s sad that companies don’t just remove it altogether and use the most screen real estate possible. The steam deck could easily fit an 8 inch screen.
@@oo--7714 certainly. For me, I’m only comparing it to their own previous models. The ayaneo 2 has no bezel and this later and upgraded model reverted to huge bezels. Overall though, still the best design for me comparing to competitors.

I'm a long time viewer and fan and love all your content but wanted to provide some constructive feedback here. What did we learn from this video? I thought one of the biggest concerns from a fan who may want to consider this unit would have been throttling and battery life on average for triple A titles and indie games. You showcasing how it's working exactly how every other handheld device that shares this chip didn't really help us learn anything we don't already know. I'm not saying go into absurd detail on the battery life but any mentioning at all would have really helped.
@Francistein Not really, it can last quite a while in certain games, but the newer AAA games definitely do drain the battery, but I still feel like these devices definitely don't last as long as they need to push out more watts to get same or better performance than the Steam Deck.
@@francistein8409 that’s patently wrong. The Steam Deck tops out at 15w. The 6800u has to go above 20w to even separate its performance from the Steam Deck.
I went off Ayaneo when my Ayaneo Air Dpad (left key) stopped working after one week. I have steered away to Gpd and especially OneXplayer now, no problems encountered.
Nice handheld but I'm waiting for the ROG Ally. Far too much risk buying from a company based in China, if things go wrong, which is very likely from what I've heard, then you're in trouble!
Facts I bought a one x player a year ago, needed repairs and it took months to get it back. 4 1/2 and customer service was 🤮 sold it, got a steam deck because their a trustworthy company and waiting for the ally.

My only problem with these handhelds is they're doing to the PC gaming space what they did to the retro space, flooding the market with similarly named devices at a way too rapid clip. There's the AyaNeo Air, the Air Pro, the Air Plus, the 2S, the Geek, then there's the Air Retro, the 2, the Next...dude it's too much

Does anyone know is there a performance difference on the 6800u with different memory size? Like does the 32gb perform better than 16gb in gaming , does more memory help out? I understand the speed of memory helps but not sure about the amount of memory
What is the wallpaper I see in all your videos that looks like different characters are on a train. BTW, Steamdeck owner. Love it, but definitely looking for more horsepower in the future. Want to completely replace my gaming PC with something like the ROG Ally. Or something similar that can be plugged into an eGPU.

I bought the 64gb version and then bought a 512gb 2230 Kingston SSD (the actual OEM part valve themselves use for the 512gb version) and it didn't even cost me $500 in total
Did you get it through Indiegogo? Did you receive it yet? I am concerned about ordering it through there because it seems like they aren't legally obligated to actually send the device when you order there.
The problem for Smart Tdp dont work fine with emulation, all the system crash with the variation of watts. For PC games work fine, but emulating? nah, static 15 tdp is the right option.
Another bait and switch from ETA 😂 I saw the blue thumbnail and was hoping he got the power end one. Nope and he didn't even get the blue one to. And as others have said. Very very over 6800u handhelds. If you can at all request different skus please do. I want to see more varied handhelds and performance.

I purchased this device after seeing this video and now severely regret it. Paid for the highest end model it arrived damaged and now bluescreens on start. Contacted support and they wait days at a time to answer questions. I've gotten excuse after excuse for why they can't start the return yet. Holidays, waiting to renew CCC, sorry we had trouble with DHL website, more holidays. Each time they give an excuse its days of asking for a response before the next excuse starts the clock again. I was patient and respectful, I wanted to love this device and company but after this service experience no one should purchase from this company. If this drags on past next week I'll probably post the entire thread to Reddit I can't be the only one dealing with this.
Dude who's writing these specs 3:34, is it you or somebody you trust? Many of your videos contain typos, this is definitely not a first one. Maybe you should keep an closer eye on it and rather double check it before releasing it to public😉
