I have a AYANEO Kun and I love it, but this video left a sour taste to my mouth simply because I didn’t see his final result, I wanted to see 4G module, actually work, I wanted to see how the SSD drive worked, again this video left the sour taste in my mouthand if he was to make an update to it, it would be most appreciated

@@1212Baboone when you say see how the SSD worked what do you mean? I made a clone of the drive so it just has all the same data the old one had. What would you like to see?

Sorry for not mentioning it. The antenna can go wherever they fit best depending on which ones you have. Just try to avoid the fan and back buttons.

I only have the GPD Win Mini and win 4. I’d take the Kun over them 99/100 times

You have to take out the SSD to install the 4g module because it’s at the bottom and behind the bracket. They didn’t make it very easy unfortunately. 🤦🏽‍♂️

@@BarelyAverageDude Looks like that you disconnected the battery during the removal of the first board as there is a connector pulled off and this one looks like coming beneth the battery

That's for the SIM\SD card board, not the battery@@crueltime235

If you use the right screwdriver there should be no damage. The buttons work normally when you put it back together.

Yes the SIM is in there. I should make a follow up post showing speeds etc. But I figured they will vary depending on your carrier and location.

Can you do a full review. I’m highly interested. Battery life etc

@@BarelyAverageDude definitely would appreciate a follow up. the speeds of gaming on that LTE would still be interesting. also prioritizing the wifi/ LTE options. The antennas for the module are already mounted yeah?

Hey it's me, the host. I made this video to show how to get into the device and make the upgrades so I only got a trial SIM. I don't have service on it anymore. What issue are you having; I can possibly walk you through it.

@@BarelyAverageDude I appreciate you telling me that cause I was waiting in suspense to see the outcome of it, but here’s my problem my ayaneo kun right bumper isn’t working anymore and I contacted Ayaneo to return it or replacing it myself. I followed your video on this assembling my system and it was very helpful. I took it apart like you did in your video and I reassemble it just because I wanted to see how to do it when I get my replacement bumper, can you show a video and walk me through on replacing the right bumper? I really would appreciate it. I should receive it in a week or so. I’ll keep you inform about my progress rather if you contact me or not. Thank you for returning responding back to me

Unfortunately not. You could get a 1.5tb sd card 🤷🏽‍♂️ The biggest ssd that would fit there if possible would be 2tb anyway

I’m replacing the main NVMe with a 8tb I was asking in the secondary m.2 where you put the LTE card can you install a smaller nvme because I know they make smaller ones up to 4tb.

Only cause I don’t need a lte card I just need more space for my games and movies.

@@Ervinndyou can’t put an SSD there. The connection is not configured for storage.

Damn I thought it used pci lanes because it says m.2.

I added those as well, but the footage is lost to time 😅😢

Did you have to add antennas or they are already wired in the kun ready for the module? I haven’t gotten my Kun yet and who knows when it will arrive lol.

​@@BarelyAverageDudeWould also love to hear about the antennas as at least the board with the sd and lte card slots are part of the device. maybe this ribbon cable which he disconnects in the beginning is the antenna but not sure. Are the antennas coming with the LTE module or already installed in the kun? During the disassembly you are talking about a network card which has to black cables. Is this the wifi card or a seperate lte card which provides the antennas?

Would a double sided drive even fit anyway?

@@leilavergerius9223 the cloning two I use doesn’t need a PC. You just push a button and it it clones the SSD

This is a PC.

I feel you. You do have to tweak settings a bit sometimes, but this is a full Windows PC. Of course it’s not as powerful as a desktop, but there’s so many Full PC games you can play portable.

@@suleman_turkey8766depends on what games you play. I play tons of games at full resolution 1600p

The SIM card slot is under the sticker below the stand on the back. Activate it in the network settings in windows
