We can't even claim that it was real so thats why, in earlier times there is no scope of visual like in this century, as that's why it integrated into temple architectures, to showcase based on particular themes, of ramayana & Mahabarata etc, so that's dosent mean it was real, as in olden days people use to believe in myths mostly, so with such massive populated people who believe that myths were happened and, they believe in fictions more! In a contemporary time you and I know that GOT is fiction, but after some centuries what if people start believe that those characters were real? Even if not physically exist, people would love to speculate and will end up in 2 groups of people that some belive or some oppose!, but because of Internet till it's data stays, it will be a fiction, what if there is no Internet exists!
