This song really has a bit of everything. Ayreon is another rabbit hole.

Ayreon is the project of Dutch composer, producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Arjen Anthony Lucassen. He does scifi concept albums and has had over 80 different singers on his 9 (double)albums. He has been doing this since mid 90's. Most of the stories of the albums combined are part of the bigger story called The Ayreon Universe. Besides Ayreon he has some other projects: StarOne, Stream of Passion, Gentle Storm, Ambeon, Guilt Machine and some solo stuff.

God I love Hansi's voice. Always sounds so epic

The "0" and "1" part steals the show, even with all of those amazing vocalists/musicians around. It's just pure magic. BTW the lyrics actually mean "Trust TH-1" or something like that, in binary code, because the character is a computer.

What's amazing to me is how good this sounds with pieces and part being recorded all over the world in different studios and probably a couple of offices or home studios... he did an awesome job of tying it all together, getting the mix levels perfect, and making it sound like one long seamless piece that was recorded in his studio.

Love the way Arjen throws in the Floor hammer in some of his stuff. Then sometimes a bit of Simone Simon's or even Marko Hietala, along with so many great artists. He does really amazing compositions and works. Just love his works

Hey guys...Great reaction as always. Aeyreon is great and always showcases the highest level talent. I don't know if you have seen it but there is a really nice fun duet between Floor and Tarja at one of Tarjas shows back in 2013 I think. They sing the song 'Over the Hills and Far Away' written by the great Gary Moore. This video shows their friendship and the love and admiration they have for one another proving their is no competition between them whatsoever. So the fanboys who like to continually cause animosity among the fans by comparing them can stick it in their pipes and smoke it... Lol. Even though I personally prefer Floors versatility I think they are both great!

not sure if you know, the second vocalist, Tommy Karevik, is the lead singer of Kamelot and i know you guys did a reaction to Sacrimony by them. also, Simone Simons is the lead singer of Epica, who i know you have reacted to as well. always a joy watchinf your reactions! if i could make a request, A Phantasmic Parade by Epica is a fantastic song and i cant find any reactions for it. i would love to see one :)

As for Aryeon, yeah a good step from here is Everybody Dies from the Ayreon Universe live show, where Michael Mills does another stunning performance using his incredible range, and the song is wonderful. Here are some I really liked from Ayreon: 'Everybody Dies' (live), 'Valley of the Queens' (live) and 'Age of Shadows' (live). All three of em happen to have Floor in it. lol!

If you appreciate great musicianship and ultra creativity it is hard not to love this song. Arjen writes his music with a musical theater flair and is able to attract incredible vocalist and instrumentalists to work with for his recording projects. Fun reaction. Next time my friends. Peace.

Ohh, another huge rabbit warren for you to explore. Ayreon is really a project more than a band, as the only fixed member is Arjen Anthony Lucassen, who has also had a number of other bands/projects n his 40-year career. He denies being a genius, but many would beg to differ!

Arjen's project Ayreon is fantastic. I have loved his various projects for a long time now. You can't go wrong with any Ayreon, Star One, Ambeon or The Gentle Storm (Arjen and Anneke!). Try the Ayreon song "Day Three: Pain" that features James LaBrie and Devin Townsend among others, of course.

If you guys are going to do more Ayreon in the future, PLEASE, try songs WITHOUT Floor.. we all know she's amazing, but Arjen features so many other incredible singers on other songs and albums (Bruce Dickinson on Universal Migrator, Devon Townsend as "Pain" on The Human Equation, James Labrie on many albums, etc.) it would be a crime to overlook those (especially the studio version of Into The Black Hole with Bruce Dickinson)
