@@yanava He is only 22 I believe during the test coming 23. But correct still a 1-2 years older than current practice nowadays. Talent spot is pretty easier nowadays with the videos, easy to travel and all.
What impresses me is how clear and sharpened are his thoughts, even at this point of his career, zero experience in f1 and very young. So self confident and mature.
Basically he was saying that car was not the best but give me a year and I will be wherever I like. With his talent back then he could probably win on anything that felt in F1 class.
@@404TVfryou doubt he would do any car in the 2000 where cars are easy to drive, the downforce is better compared to the early 90s, that's an interesting statement. But he is still the fastest f1 driver ever so.
Such a psychological game, even then Senna: Most drivers beg for this opportunity but I’m so good Williams can’t even afford me Frank Williams: he begged so we let him play in the car for a bit Senna was an incredible talent for sure, but the sheer insane confidence played a big part
'It certainly isn't a winning car' followed by 'but it'll get me to the winner's platform' haha how sensational. Was an absolute prodigy and he knew it too. Polishing turds into gold nuggets.
I have followed F1 for the past 53 years, and can count, pretty much on the fingers of one hand the great drivers from the period since I was old enough to watch races, whom I did not see race in front of my eyes: Clark, Brabham, Rindt, Gurney, and perhaps McLaren. I had the privilege of standing one meter from Senna's Toleman when he engaged first gear and left the pits for his first lap around a circuit in Brazil with a F1 car. Back then it didn't mean a whole lot, but in retrospect, it was a bit of a historical moment. It was for a tyre testing in January 1984 at the now defunct Jacarépaguá circuit in Rio. Coincidentally, Emerson Fittipaldi was also testing that day, in a weird car with a Mickey Mouse livery (literally), and I believe it was the last time he drove a F1 in Brazil
Are u saying that past drivers we're more capable than modern day drivers like Hamilton? ...I agree that it was pure driving back in the day but on the other hand I think the modern day driver is a more sophisticated intelligent harder working driver. Senna was amazing and inspired generations.... But senna cars compared to modern era are night and day ....Modern day drivers have evolved along with the cars . LEWIS HAMILTON is the greatest F1 DRIVER to ever grace a race track ...he has came old school to modern and still won 7 titles ....Hamilton will never ever get the recognition he deserves until he's 20 years away from the sport
I've been a fan of F1 FOR OVER 30 YEARS and seen some amazing drivers ...Rosberg.. VETTEL... HAKKINNEN...SCHUMACHER...ALONSO. BUT imo Lewis Hamilton is the greatest driver to ever grace a race track ...Also I don't configure with the racist shit that happens in sport ,but I think F1still finds it hard to accept that the greatest ever is mixed race.
1:40 Car swaying left and right under braking, front end goes into the corner, sharp and quick, rear steps out he controls it and in a flash he is out of the corner. So cool to watch 😌
Ron Dennis offered a contract to Senna in ‘82 if I’m not wrong, according to a Brazilian biography, but Senna refused to sign it because he would assume a role as a test driver. Ron became very upset back then saying that any driver in the world would sell his mother to get such that chance, but Ayrton wanted to be a full-time F1 driver.
he actualy won the race in toleman in monaco. but they predicted this will happen so stopped the race suddenly even if conditions were same since long time
Incredible. I didn't know he tested for both Williams and Mclaren before signing for Toleman. And he went faster than they'd ever gone, for both teams! Imagine if he'd have been driving for either since 1984, instead of scrapping away in backmarkers. How the history books might have looked different.
F1 lost so much with his death, imagine how valuable he would have been for the sport after retirement. His awareness about the sport even as a rookie is amazing, I'm positive he would have reached a big position at FIA, probably president.
It is incredible how he aware he was of his position in formula 1 as a rookie.... like he could have pushed for a seat at williams or mclaren but in the end he decided to go to toleman to show off his skill he might could have not shown with a stronger car... He would have been maybe 5 or 6 times world champion if there wasn't the crash in imola
He could have been championship contender in ‘85 and ‘86, if it weren’t for Lotus unreliable cars that he drove + some silly mistakes. However Senna said he needed to grow up as a driver to learn how to be a serious contender, and according to myself, also how to play his cards politically speaking A.K.A. how he stayed at Lotus for ‘87 being able to move to Ferrari, because of Honda engines, and a chance to use them as a bridge to jump into McLaren in ‘88.
Imagine if he had driven for Williams or McLaren in that era - we might have been looking after so many more titles. Toleman and Lotus were never title contenders in that era.
0:38 It's kind of unsettling how seeing a non-paralyzed Frank Williams makes you feel... he really did put his heart and soul into F1, and we are all enriched for it
goddaymn, so amazing to see the conviction with which he speaks, yes if you saw it at the time it would sound arrogant but by god did he back it up, and in his own mind he is only being truthful
Yeah the last statement was so true. The little turbo charged Toleman got Ayrton on the podium in more than 50 percent of the races the car finnished that year and almost the top step at Monaco... almost☝🏾
03:56 Exactly what Alonso said a couple weeks ago about Hamilton not winning.. But senna was a "kid" yet and with a couple of tests in a F1.. amazing understanding of how the thing work/worked
3:57 Senna knew it from the beginning. It’s why Hamilton held his lead for so long. He had the fastest car on the grid therefore he could win championships near effortlessly.
Que calidad de piloto por Dios, que humildad!! Pequeña gran diferencia con Hamilton, creído soberbio, uf le falta mucho, pero bueno dejémoslo ahí, Señor Senna mis respetos. 🇦🇷
He was already the faster driver, I don't understand why sir Williams smile and says "too early, is an unesperience driver". True, the esperienze mutter, but if you are young and already the faster driver, that's all.
