Hello fellow bear player. For this deck, I am a big fan of the card "The Ozolith" it'll allow us to keep reusing our counters we've been working so hard for, and will make any bears relevant at any phase of the game, and it'll just get bigger and bigger as the game progresses on, especially if you're trading with others. Now, if for some reason someone plays a massive -x/-x counters, enough to overwhelm the advantages of ozolith (more negative counters than +s), consider the card as a removal and transfer everything to their creature to kill it. Also, are you excited for the new professor bear from the new set? :) I am!

My wife’s nickname is Honey Bear (Bearz) for short. Her Ayula deck is Bear Fight Club. Kinda high powered but no combos. Helm of the Host is a key card. It’s a little more flavor over function... but it wins games. May steal some from this video. Thanks.

Very nice, came onto your channel after pointing out on Reddit a trigger with Oketra's Memorial wouldn't work. Now I've decided to stay and build my own Bears deck. Bear Cub being the main reason. Had that card since it came out and always wanted to play with it. So cute. This video has finally given me the inspiration to make a bears deck. 🐻

I just found your channel and this video, liked and subbed. Loving it so far. Have you updated the deck in the past couple years? I am also a massive lover of Bears. They are my favorite non-extinct animal. I heard the call of the bears as soon as I saw Ayula get spoiled. I've also foiled out my deck and I even managed to check 1 of the 2 bears off my dream card list last year. I managed to finally get a Razorclaw Bear. Can't seem to find a copy of Grizzly Bears from Alpha though. I've always wanted one ever since I saw it in a display case at a shop years and years ago. I think it might have been back in '95 or maybe '96. It was the card that made me start collecting Magic the Gathering in the first place.

I don't understand the bearstorm combo and how to do it. I'm newly back into Magic after over 20 years. I have the entire decklist you shared and built the deck, but I don't understand how to run the main combo, even after reading your primer. Can you explain it to me in Michael Scott terms? Like seriously, step by step, how do I do the combo.

I loved this! Been thinking about slowly building a strong bear deck since I got into EDH a couple years back. Do you still have plans to work on a budget hatebear deck? Looks like it was mentioned as a "maybe" in the Archidekt write-up.

Bears and Wolverines deserve some love. MTG almost has every plane that I like. Innistrad for wolves/werewolves with dark fantasy, Ikoria with its magical creature evolution and bonders, Ixalan for its dinos, Kaldheim is based on my favorite mythology, Tarkir is the plane of awesome dragons and Arcavios too, both filling each color pair with an awesome dragon, and the last with a more magical academic approach that I love. All of these are my favorite planes by far. The only thing that MTG lacks now would be a plane based on north-native-american mythologies, bears would get another chance to shine in this plane. If this plane comes to life MTG would be complete to me.

"Doubling Season: I don't like to pay 5 Mana to do nothing." - He says after talking about Hibernation's End. Now THAT is a 5 Mana card that does nothing. Doubling Season can be played in conjunction with other spells during an infinite Mana turn. Hibernation's End doesn't even trigger until your next turn and only gets you a 1cmc creature. It cannot even get you a 0cmc creature when you cast it. It only triggers when you pay the upkeep. It takes 11 Mana and 4 turns before you can even get a 3cmc creature AND you are dedicating your mana to this junk enchantment. You are far better off with the likes of Natural Order, Worldy Tutor, Birthing Pod and so forth.

Look, first off your bear puns are only funny to 12 year olds and younger. That aside. I appreciate the enthusiasm but as someone who’s spent over a decade making bear Tribal with Commanders like Surrak and Yeva.. your deck is absolute garbage for 4-5 player EDH, even tiny leaders it’s not great. You’re talking about a format where most ppl run removal and board sweeps, like Wrath and Pernicious deed effects, or soft locks like Ghostly Prison or Prpopaganda. Not only do you have almost no reach to trample over most, but even if you kill one opponent you’re threat level will be high and one sweeper and your deck is completely out of gas. You have very little disenchantment cards, like aura shards to get around powerful enchantments and artifacts. You’ll run of of gas and be dead in the water, and recasting a 2/2 commander that puts counters will do little when opponents are dropping their 5-7 cmc commanders with far more powerful affects mid-late game. This deck needs a better game plan, either Survival of Fittest with Masked Admirers/Genesis/shuffle and maybe throw in some Sylvan Wild (+Words of Wilding?) and Food Chain engine to go with the bears.you absolutely need the tribal artifact that lets you draw cards playing bears too. I wouldn’t overlook Harmonize for draw and Sword of FI/LS, you need card draw and recursion. If you also want a hidden gem wincon in an aggro deck like this… Ritual of Subdual. If you’re gungho playing all-in and amass bears, drop this and it’ll make all mana colorless for at least 3-5 turns, similar to Armageddon but doesn’t commit you all the way. I want you to keep the bear theme but I think straying away from value and midrange is bad advice, ppl will copy your deck and opponts will just 2v1 them early and they’ll basically be out of the game. And you don’t have any Wheel effects/Time Spiral like my Surrak deck had to fill up your hand. That’s my 3 cents
