There absolutely needs to be some kind of lab mode that involves Ascended Lvl 3's and Azir's "Emperor" deck because they are so effing cool but even if you win you will almost never be able to use all of it since the game basically just ends at that point or people surrender
This happens with most champions that are victory conditions after they evolve like Zoe or the Elder Dragon, most people will simply surrender at the exact moment they evolve
@@arcanumelite4853 Nah, they were brothers first. Misunderstanding, Oversight from being too Smart, and Inflated Ego just brought them apart. Azir became less sympathetic from Xerath's betrayal and looks like he's prepped up to be an Earth Nation Tyrant while Xerath became crazy and abandoned all humanity to become a Fire Element menace from the Spirit World due to the realization that he betrayed someone who was considering him all the time. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But when Shurima needed him most, ASol got nerfed. P.S. I'm thinking the Avatar would travel around and meet Yasuo, Ahri, Riven, Taliyah, Nami and Annie to form their little group. Atm only Xylas, Neeko and Viego looks like they can master different abilities but I'm rooting for Vex who was somehow dubbed the Avatar but was too lazy to master any of them and instead learned Shadow Bending in the spirit world so she wouldn't have to move.
@@anotherdayanotheranimation Actually, they were friends, they met at the library and xerath taught azir a bunch of things. Xerath was sort of a slave and azir promised to grant him freedom. Once with power, azir didn't so xerath got pissed off and betrayed him although azir was just a dumb friend and was going to liberate him but he took too long to do so.
Honestly imo one of the biggest issues mono shurima has is that it’s champions really do not synergies with the deck… xerath needs landmarks, but that interferes with azir summoning units, renekton wants you to have a lot of combat tricks, and nasus needs removal or self slay synergy (which shurima has next to none of)… any combonation requires completely different things which spreads the deck too thin or gives you a liability. If the champions actually worked better together, or wanted similar things in the deck I feel like the deck would be so much better.
9:20 “I can just destroy this palace, it must be really infuriating.” Lmao we get it mogwai, sometimes I wake up and decide to be an asshole for the day too lol
It's wild just how much less threathening that deck is if you can remove the palace... Riot really balanced Akshan about that vulnerability but completely forgot to make any really way of doing so in most decks.
@@dkznikolaj7013 But to be fair, Akshan gives a free landmark whilist being a 2/2 quick attack and strike:palace countdown haste by 1, while being a 2 mana card
YOOOOO SEND ME THE DECK LINK PLEASE! I've been trying to build Ziggs Swain for so long but I just couldn't get it to work :( I wanna see your take on it
Honestly it's a very interesting. And giving Swain overwhelm also helps him overcome the fact he is blocked by fearsome units. Can you share your deck list?
Heyy Mowai, you did a fantastic job in worlds my man. I just wanted to say thank you for your dedication and great content. Btw Arcane is coming soon, in case you don't know about it, it is a Netflix series based on your favorite region PnZ. I am sure we will love it wen it eventually comes out.
Would love to see what you can do with the tail-cloaked matriarch. The card seems really interesting, but I haven't seen it used at all. Maybe good with mistwraithes or viego?
It hasnt been used at all because it's a teaser card. Kinda like how Bone skewer was released months prior to Pyke but was clearly setting him up. Matriarch is clueing us in to Ahri's gimmick
Thanks for the deck! Just watched the deck guide, I will go to the ladder then return to watch the gameplay! Gotta make some mistakes myself before learning!
It's nuts I was just working on improving my Sun disc deck with my friend when this popped up in my feeds. Your like a wizard M0gwai, keep it up!! Thanks for the content! :D
Hey man! Just found your channel and I gotta say, you’re a pretty cool dude 😎 Started playing LoR around when Shurima came out, and while I have no idea what “mid-range”, “aggro” or any other terminology of the sort mean, I can still appreciate your well thought-out deck building! Don’t over-do it though man. I barely have half a brain to make a single deck (bless my Vlad-Scargrounds 🙏🏻), so I can’t imagine what it is like to build one every day! Do some gauntlets/expeditions to rest sometimes man! Keep being you bud, and may the Blessed Algorithm™ favour your channel. 🎉🥂
Aggro -> deck that plays many cheap units and a few spells with the game plan to burn your nexus down before the opponent's game plan can come online Midrange -> plays larger and larger threats and consistently applies more pressure until the enemy can't take it anymore Control -> slows down the game as much as possible with heavy investment into early game stall and crazy late game power strategies
@@thegamingpro9128 ooh so that’s how it is! I think I understand now. Thank you kind person on youtube :D I think i’ll understand more of Mogwai’s videos in the future!
I was just about to type that comment as well, but then i remembered he might have the 2x( give +0/+1 ) card from his 1 drop to shield Lulu and protect her from the spirit fire but that would be a 1 out of 4 chance. (that he picked +0/+1 in both times) anyway he could also use the 2 drop to give Barrier to Lulu that he used next round and still survive that spell. idk if Mogwai could calculate all of that before he blocks and that was intentional, but if yes damn boi i wish i get to Mogawi level..
Game 2 was a pure fiesta on mogwai's side. Not mulliganing away azir, playing sun disc turn 1, not blocking with 3/3 on turn 4, not using rite on sun disc, not blocking lulu with 2/2 and throwing away desert naturalist which is one of the mvp in this deck
Just FYI, "grow" effects will only increase x|x stats if a unit has stats below x. Any units that have stats above x will not change. The "set" effect will always set the x|x values to a specific number, regardless of unit's stats. I don't know if there's a "reduce" keyword, but if there were, it would function opposite of "grow" - meaning that units which have stats higher than x would have their values reduced to x, while units with stats less than x would remain unchanged.
Azir: We are so powerful we will destroy all other empires! Xerath, what's the first empire on the list? Xerath: Shurima. Azir: Yes, we will...wai what
You got a missplay at 18:00 when you use spirit fire and not block Lulu with your clockling. Because she get -2 attack and get 2 dmg after turn ends and you got her with this trade.
I was wondering that too, if maybe he was playing around something like Sharpsight? But it seems better to try it, if they have it then they have it, but it seems better to go for it. I wasn't sure if I was missing something or if he just misplayed.
Just personal view on this deck, I think in this deck you don't need more than 1 Azir, only for his level 3 ability, two other slots could be taken by Zillean for example.
Hi mog! It might be too late for you to read my comment, but I had an interesting idea of combining shurima landmarks (ziggs/xerath) with targon. Whether or not you end up using Malphite, who is easy to level up in this kind of deck btw, there are also a lot of tools in targon that benefits from the package, like Chip is a wock solid 1 drop, and the 4 mana fast stun/ping
Senna/Lux seems like a good idea. Also you can run her with Heimerdinger in Bandle City and by using Minimorph you can instantly lvl up Lux and create the Elusive turret with Heimer. You can also add Mirror Mage to the deck since she'll clone your Final Sparks (it's a created spell) and also clone your turrets which can lvl up Heimer really fast.
I've been waiting for this deck since expansion came out, but i wonder if it could be done as xerath and renekton with just 1 copy of azir for the golden deck
ahh i really want to play this deck, but I feel like I just can't b/c it's too slow for the meta rn (March 2022). The ascended are my favorite champions (pantheon would have been, but his level-up animation is kinda...lame...for me). Yes, I am that shallow. Also, I wonder if there is actually a list for the emperor's deck since most games just end when it is brought in. Edit: the deck list does exist and it would be broken if it ever saw play.
Man, Mono Shurima was the thing that made me fall in love with LoR. It was never as strong as I would have liked it to be but it was always fun to play. I just wish Riot would make the Sun Disk 0 mana or something to buff the archetype a bit ...
So on the game against puppeteer, before you got rained on, you could've diminished his attackers by attacking because decks with yordels tend to go wide. Therefore u would've survived another 2 turns to strategize your win.
I mean it ain’t a bad change persay… a big part of her issues is that she comes down way too late for a control engine like her to matter, so a cost reduction would help a lot there, but I don’t think that’d solve her issues. Honestly I played her a lot when they first came out, and it always felt like they where just missing cards… just a missing tools to actually pop off. Perhaps a release with a few kindred centric cards, or a partner champion that works better than nasus or Ashe.
I think the issue with Kindred is that other than her cost it's too easy to avoid her marks and also the reward for it is so little that it doesn't matter. Making your quick attack unit have more attack can only matter so much, if she had overwhelm then she would be a lot stronger. I see no reason to play Kindred when Senna exists as well, Senna shares the same stats and keywords as Kindred and I can assure you that any Kindred deck you'll play will be a lot stronger if you put Senna instead.
I have to say, I haven't played this expansion but "Yordle in Arms" card is overpowered. - Please compare to "For Demacia!" and "Pack Mentality" which effectively cost more mana for a lesser statline. (cept for the one that gives overwhelm) but there would be absolutely 0 reason to play Yordle in Arms without 'multi region cards in your deck' which makes this a consistent +4/+4 for all your units, which is absolutely CRAZY. Especially cause swarming the board with Bandle City is extremely easy as well.
Sunburst should be able to kill a spell shield unite btw, it says "silence before i strike" so the silence get rid of spellshield and then it deals 6 damage. I feel like the first line that says silence is useless
"I'm gonna keep the Golden Ambassador 'cause I really wanna make sure I draw into my champions." Mulligans a second Golden Ambassador into his hand, topdecks Azir on turn 1, Xerath on turn 2. I swear this game's RNG has a sense of humour.
Love the idea of Ascended but it will never be competitive. Shurima doesn't have the early anti aggro tools. Also, the sun disk puts the player at a severe disadvantage early on. Riot should just make it cost 0 or auto spawn from deck if you're mono Shurima. Considering the lack of early tools Mono Shurima has, I think Xerath's kit works best with Renekton. Obelisk of Power makes Renekton level quick and once you flip the disk, it's GG in 1 or 2 turns. Another deck Idea I had was Kindred Xerath control. Herald of Magus and Siphoning strike do work 💯
This and the nasus versions are the first decks i played this expansion... it just takes so long to lvl azir that it feels a bit worse than the nasus version but even that one isn't viable
What do you think about cutting one hourglass for 1x Servitude of Desolation? It seems like a really good card against board wipes late game, but I admit it's not the easiest card to use...
Last time I played against a sundisk deck I popped sundisk at turn 3, they responded with crying poro emote then surrendered. Could u make a kindred control deck? With piltover, it’s fun to play but quite linear in its direction
Would be nice if Azir had a special effect with Sundisk, so he'd need fewer summons to lvl-up. The nerf to Azirelia made nerfed every Azir deck too much, too.
That's the problem with Rito. They always say one thing and do the exact opposite. Like when they said they want to nerf Azirelia but didn't want to affect other decks, so they hit both Azir and Irelia, which affects every other deck those two could possibly be in. Or like in League when they said they "value counterplay" and in the exact same patch gave Soraka a fucking instant-cast FIELD of silence (or, if you prefer, when they gave MF ap ratios "to give her more play patterns" but removed ap ratios from Master Yi in order to force players into a single play pattern). That shit is just the norm for Rito. If they ever say one thing, expect the exact opposite to be the case in their actual patches.
16:28 why not target your sun disc here? I think a leveled xerath would be your win condition against this deck, lvl 3s are too slow. Even slower when you're down a mana gem
