Mistake at 2:53: When placing tiles in the center section, if you want to place a tile on position #3, you need 3 of the same color (or combined with wilds). You can not simply take use 3 of any color, place one, and throw the other two away.

Definitely my favorite of the three. It feels like a much more in-line progression of design from the first one compared to Staines Glass; like this is what the second Azul should have been. The only things I don't like about it is the scoring markers and small amount space for the markers. For such a colorful game, the markers are drab both in color and design and they are fiddly to move when clumped together.

Ah, Treasure Trove Cove. My favourite level from Banjo-Kazooie.

You taught the center tile placement _wrong_ - you still need a set of tiles of the *same* colour (plus any wild colour tiles), but each of the six must have a different colour.

Sorry, but my Azul is Azul: Strange Canon of Sintra. I feel this is like saying my favorite bit of Quinns in a review is him talking about birds facts in the wingspan review... But i'll stick with it.

3rd Gen Azul is definitely the best. Nothing can beat Azul Ruby and Sapphire. Though the upcoming Azul Diamond and Pearl are shaping up to be really great too.

I've enjoyed this Azul. I feel it reclaimed the simplicity of the original Azul, with a deeper strategic layer added on. My main complaint is that the score board isn't big enough to fit all the markers on a space if they are bunched up.

be careful when making the tile art though. One wrong move and you'll summon Noel Fielding.

Yeeeeeah, wasn't a fan of Azul2 and I'm not convinced that this "Azul3: Monster Vacation" is really holding onto the elegance of the original. I don't think Azul needs to be more complicated.

I'll wait. For led rave palettes. Or neodymium tiles. Or nebula boards. Or musical notation engine-building. Or stained glass boards. Or collaborative dominoes-jenga goals. Or tile baking pan to make edible tiles with rules about how to bite the tiles for points and biting them wrong means you have the wrong piece now, but hey, that way a pretty tasty piece what was that? Azul and summer pavilion create good duo of games. Azul is the light and fast fun where summer pavilion is more "thinky" and slower.

I love both Azul and Azul III, and I especially enjoy the looks of disbelief when I whip them out at board game meetups. The disbelief always turns into amazement once they realize how good both games are.

Glad I watched this. Despite having owned the game for a few months now, I missed that you lose points equal to the number of tiles taken from the centre.

As someone who really likes Azul but wishes there was a TINY bit more to it, I think this seems like a great fit. Will keep an eye out for it.

Azul is fun. This looks fun. But as someone new-ish to board games and being the one that has to teach myself and Then my few friends how to play, I would Definitly pass this one up on being Darn To Complicated to understand. :/ I struggle enough with Azul.

The Pokémon metaphor doesn't really work because you don't finish a Pokémon game and go "wow I sure love this game! I'm going to play it again next week." Video games are a different beast where sequels are more looked forward to by the same people. It's more like if you got Pandemic Legacy Season 2 and were hoping it could scratch that same itch as Season 1 but then it wasn't any better or had unfortunate changes that made you enjoy it less. Of course, there's nothing wrong with just having one Pokémon game you played and liked, and I respect it. But a lot of people look forward to sequels in video games because you don't get the same experience the second time you play a game.

Matt is killing it in this one. I'm in stitches.

Contrary to the popular opinion, summer pavilion is such a boring game compared to the first two. Scoring is nowhere as exciting as the first two (Sintra scoring is so satisfying). It's also too forgiving compared to the other two. On the former games, picking the wrong thing can screw your score up and you'll blame yourself for it, in this one..... Eh there's almost a guaranteed spot you can fill or just save it for next round *shrugs*
