Jayon Greenaway-Meade That information is wrong. I’ve gotten killed by Tenjins Seven Slashes and STILL had to deal with the Singing into the Mic. Luckily: this video works when you get there :D
Looking back. This is probably one of the coolest ways a game could give the player a safety net, specially one as weird and hard as ASGV is. Using hype as a way to keep off frustration surely helps and I feel like I wouldn't have actually finished this game if this mechanic didn't exist because it took me until Zonda's stage to finally get it.
It took me too long to play Gunvolt, just because of the bullshit revive & prevasion mechanic that makes no sense. The game is great, but I quit twice, before realising I could turn prevasion off by removing the necklace, and could use the "retry" button on the menu if I got revived to return to the last check point without the overpower buff... So no... That mechanic is completely bullshit
I hate it when I die within seconds of killing a boss, only for Anthem to happen. Kills all challenge in the fight. Stand still and Flashfield for a second and you win.
First time I got this to happen was when I got to Merak and I had 50 hp remaining to start the boss fight. I was like "I'm not gonna be able to win with this much health". And then Lumen appeared and gave me the health I needed to win against him. I was saying "Oh, thanks lumen!!" 😁
everytime this anthem kicks in I feel like a f*cking anime mc and be like "time for you to kick the bucket" to my enemy lmao I hope i'm not the only one who felt this ecstasy of a song.
Me playing this game on Steam struggling to get the controls down and find a setup to feel comfortable with (must say, accidentally ending in a platformer stage was a bad idea), so imagine my surprise when this song happend after I felt into another botomless pit for the 5th time and this happend...I was like "great, now even the game pitty me for being unable to decide on a layout".
So let’s make a spiritual successor to Megaman Zero. We’ll change it to where there are people in a dystopian future with X-Men like powers. We’ll make the protagonist a bada$$ lightning user who goes super saiyen when his favorite idol sings for him.
Who also is basically his girlfriend. And as someone who found this series late and started recently by getting the collection on Switch, I gotta say the conversations between Joule and Gunvolt in GV1 are just so adorable and a joy to read. Gunvolt has the more serious, to the point personality, and even is resourceful enough able to take care of himself. Meanwhile, Joule is just more quiet and shy but wants to help GV any way she can while they are together. Even if she isn't very skilled or knowledgeable of the outside world, she really doesn't want only to be just a burden to GV. Makes the two bounce off each other almost naturally.
