Starting May of with a quick but refreshing shave. Böker Elite 6/8" singing hollow with RazoRock "What The Puck?!" Shaving Soap - Blue and Yaqi 22mm Cola Synthetic.
Good eye Dr. Matt! Sofia's Dude Face Shave Cloths took my shaving to the next level. You can find out more at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wZjS6RWxPnQ.html . In all, seriousness - thanks for your vids. You gave me the courage to try restoring a few old razors which has been rewarding. Why does old steel feel like it takes and holds an edge better? Thanks so much for taking time to comment!
Thanks for your comment. I find the blade comfortable the square tip is slightly rounded so I would say beginner friendly. Hopefully the price is low enough to be good for beginners as well. Good luck!
Do any Shave Pucks or hard soaps are going to work?. You can mix and match old soaps? to fit in any mug or cup that you like to use. like (Mitchells' Wool Fat or Arkos shave soaps?) Cut the bar soap up, put in a mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, and microwave for a minute or so? if it foams up, stop. the water keeps it from burning itself up? (DON'T OVER WATER YOUR SOAP??) Easy does it? let cool don't want to crack the mugs or cups you're using? ( you just went it to congeal in your mug or cup') place in the sun, until soap hardens? When using Dry Brush more Water. For its (price point?)' (I use Dove bar soaps?) (use any soaps Out there ??) save your money spend it on your wife don't listen to the shave mafia.try to save people money in these inflationary times wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas
@@bwholladay How many strokes did you do on the 12 k Naniwa? and please what kind of strokes? X strokes? Half strokes? curved strokes? J strokes? circle strokes? Did you pass vertically the blade on the corner to remove the typical sting of the straight razor with teeth not refined enough? I Ask you because I still struggle with this and wanna see if the Boker has also this problem to stings!
@@zenrazor659 - I usually do 15-30 very light pressure x strokes on each side (rotating on the spine) under a small steady stream of water. Perhaps it is not really an x-stroke since the stone is as wide as the blade. :-) photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipOYIGC3rsVL4riJl1wItD_6SVLGEhr_npT1QOVd DrMatt357 shows honing under a stream of water for finishing on a narrower coticule (I use my 12k Naniwa) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zS48Bp6Yhd0.html Definitely remove any burr or sting if found.
