Just as an aside to my previous comment, B-17s didn't take off in pairs. Especially in airfields like that. There were also lead planes from each base that had special vibrant colors and markings painted on them that would act as rally points for each squadron so they could form up. Sort of like chase cars in NASCAR.

That leader guy micro managers the formation and flights. Being aircrew. You don't wait for permission to engage when enemy is flying over. He doesn't dictate when you do flight checks. Super annoying.

Who would tell their squadron to hold fire when there are literally bandits weaving through the formation?? EDIT: I in no way meant disrespect to the creators, players, or idea of the video. I just thought they should have opened fired once fighters were in range rather than waiting, which resulted in several bombers being downed. As Iron's perspective showed, even one 109 could carve a path through a formation with a few bursts.

*Just a PSA for all you viewers* All of you that are criticising and throwing shade out there to the Flight Leader, he was following exactly the brief that was given to him. He's also taking commands from Formation leader and relaying that to his wing - all of you saying he's trying too hard, annoying and the like are not understanding this CB in its full context. You are not: Considering that commands are coming from above flight leader. Rules are in place to make the match balanced Hold fire command was given from FORMATION leader, not flight leader of this section. Hold fire command was in place to avoid friendly fire while the formation was tight. The flight leader actually did an incredible job of organising B section (Phly's flight) with the complete mess up of the bomber formation throughout the CB. If it weren't for B-Section flight leader, you wouldn't have a video to enjoy. Just think before you type.

I was annoyed that we did have to wait to fire thats a main reason why i died.

First, props for just mentioning the Red Tails. I have mentioned them during some missions and nobody knows who I'm talking about. I'm also surprised they're not some type of Premium plane considering their spectacular history and record for protecting bombers!!! Secondly, this is EPIC!!! Personally I love being a Bomber Pilot and hope I can get to be a part of something on a grand scale like this. Lastly, thanks for showing bombers off again. I don't think they get enough attention because well, they aren't that big on action. But, when used properly they can do some of the largest amount of damage. Great video as usual!!! This is the whole reason why I want to unlock the B-17G, my favorite plane to ever grace the skies. Also, lead bomber had his head up his ass, should have gone weapons free BEFORE you had enemy fighters engaging the formation.
