I had the pleasure of being bb king personal security for a full day when he performed in Los Angeles in 1998 and met some of his family members it was a thrill of a lifetime
One of the things I love about this interview is Mr. King's musical intellect, diverse influences, intuitiveness, studiousness, and apparent photographic memory. Impressive...
STRAIGHT GOD GIVIN TALENT, HE WAS BORN TO DO WHAT HE DID AND DIED LOVING WHAT HE DID! MY MOTHER IS FROM MISSISSIPPI AND SHE CAN SING AS WELL. BB KING IS HER FAVORITE ARTIST 💙! ALOT GREAT MUSICIANS CAME OUT OF THE SOUTH ! R.I. P TO THE KING OF THE BLUES.
You reached me, a 29 year old young man from Trinidad & Tobago. You became my hero and mentor within less than two months of knowing you. RIP to you, a very great being!!!
Listening to him talk is inspiring it’s obvious in addition to being musically gifted he was also a highly intelligent man - and such humility total respect
B.B. King is a legend because he sang with his heart. Not like the ones that want to be like him. He had a special gift that will never be. He was a simple man that wrote his and sang the way it should be. His music was original not like others.
Don’t knock those of us who try to copy him. Most of us know we can’t emulate him but if you are not an original as he was you might as well copy the best there is.
No wonder he was an exceptional musician. He was inspired by some of the greats. He made his guitar sing.Duane Allman could do this and so can Lee Roy Parnell.
2:04 All the way back then, people got the same thing I've always thought. He was truly naturally gifted. And it's hard to believe he was already 43 in this video. He kept going for another 47 years. A true legend.
Some PBS station.. probably Detroit, as they used to have a lot of really good blues shows back in the late 60s. I wish I had the actual whole broadcast, since that's my absolute favorite BB Period.. when "Blues on top of Blues" and "The Electric BB King" came out.
