Modifying a stock P30 intake manifold with a sohc flange to suit a d16
we discuss the findings and reasons for it back in the day we also delve deep into runner harmonics and its benefits. Tests on D16a6, a Crower cammed D16z6 and alot more
Also we discuss the importance and relevance of reading the dyno sheet properly and correctly to avoid misconceptions of what made more and what did not. Much credit to the late great Bong Hilario of H3autoworks as he always was active in innovating and that let me explore the creative side of things and he acknowledged SRDmotorsports most of all
I hope the info here helps you fine tune your set up or planned set up for an even better result

I see what you saw there But the 4,700 rpm hump is what they call “AEM hump” due to CAI length intake but a lil longer both ran a velocity stack out the headlight that’s why Hence only the green line was vtec The blue line (dyno is non vtec) still had that hump :)

I was about to say “dulo” for us is the second half of the track or strip… a sohc that punches into 4th gear at about 300m ? With strong midrange at 5-6k rpm ? Will have tremendous “dulo” as perception But it had a strong midrange that’s why :)

@tysonzane
@tysonzane 2 года назад
Nice theory and I don’t disagree with your points however it’s simply not accurate to compare dyno plots for different engines, different dynos and different days… If you’re going to conclusively say something is better then something else it needs to be the same engine, same day and same dyno.
@SRDmotorsports
@SRDmotorsports 2 года назад
Yes that’s true I agree no doubt I simply was pointing out that the other engine I built (same builder) with supposed better stuff. The main thing it didn’t work for it is in essence the lack of runner length Wasn’t totally an engine comparison or competition but yes sir your points are correct And also I should add… we both know and often see a lot of times “whp” numbers only and a partial graph not showing rpm or range so I was hinting on that, cuz here? Man!!! “Incomplete graph” wowness 😂 But thanks for this and valid points sir :)

What pistons? But even then let’s say u use a Pm7 ? A lot would choose crower stage2 for the tamer characteristics but even for a street car I’d go for a crower stage 3 especially cuz u are using a skunk2 pro series intake so runner length is good :) so torque will be good :)

@SRDmotorsports
@SRDmotorsports 2 года назад
There isn’t much of a significant change in size I mean if you are talking about port volume? It’s way different from a P08 head but what you can do to be sure is Make a gasket for the intake and work it and also use the same gasket to match the intake with, don’t match it using existing gasket because they are always misaligned Your compression is GOOD will make POWER! :)
