I got to take a ride in a B-17 several years ago; cost me $450 - and worth every cent. I got to sit in the nose gunner's seat, and "strafed" herds of cattle as we flew low over nearby farms. It clanks, groans, shakes, shudders, roars, creaks, clunks , et al. We got to move about the aircraft freely. I was only feet away from those big, loud radials, and loved every minute. A very iconic aircraft which, along with the B-24, were the workhorses of the Air War over Germany.
