Amain hobbies, one of the biggest and best stocked RC companies in the world ........ builds with paper party plates ...LOL. Nice to see something other than Tekin or HW for Esc / motor. I got a maclan setup in the mail for a mod buggy build. Another great video bud. Cheers
@@richarddarlington1139 have never raced/driven it finished building it just as the pandemic lockdowns hit and haven’t gotten it to a track yet but it’s funny I just pulled it out Thursday and was thinking about going to the track to try it out just haven’t had the time yet
@@michaelhenecke Same here. I built this thing back when it was the hot ticket. Beyond doing donuts on the kitchen floor and a few runs in the parking lot, I've hardly driven it at all. Some day...? Peace!
Loved MP9. I think most people were amazed at the performance from a high quality servo in the MP9. They are so ridiculously expensive to people new to the hobbie they do not believe that there could be that much of a difference. But when you can walk your car off the table instead of turn the wheels the difference is obvious
Thank you Roger! We have every paint color available but no time to paint sadly. We need to find someone local to paint a quality job. The white is very easy to see on the track though. -Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies Sometimes the simple stuff is just right :P It was just a callback to the last time you build a car and you said that it was getting a custom paintjob :D Laughed my ass of :D
I really like this idea and look forward to seeing the upgrades that are made each week. What I’d like to see now is a head to head comparison of this vehicle with the budget vehicle that you almost built.
Thanks for getting my order to me in a timely manner im glad you have a new location on the east coast also like your videos I've learned a lot from this channel
All I'm saying is if you put any parts on this buggy that I have backordered right now I'm not going to be to pleased! But I'm still excited because it's a new video from AMain baby!
I'd be mad too Bobby. But if it's backordered for you, it's backordered for me, so all the upgrade parts used were parts in stock at the time of purchase. -Brett
Congrats man. It does take some time but you probably know that that car like the back of your hand now. Hope those tires come soon for you. Are you going to race on carpet too? -Brett
I dig the chassis protectors, are they mainly for these buggies? I'd like to use em for our mini T2.0 and soon MiniB. But worried about access to screws? Like it would be cool to use em on my son's Granite but there's a scr8at the bottom that needs taking out to fix gear mesh or other things. Thanks Amain
They've become popular with the 1/10 race cars and really help to preserve the new-state of the aluminum chassis. Most sheets are cut for specific chassis shapes, but these universal sheets would be great for you: www.amainhobbies.com/protek-rc-universal-chassis-protective-sheet-black-2-ptk-1102/p447145 Just clean the chassis really good before with rubbing alcohol, and remove the front bumper if it attaches on the bottom so you can get the sheet under it; then reattach bumper. We show the install of a universal protector in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lewQ7VAOOzo.html at 7:56 Hope that helps. -Brett
Can you guys make one of these series for the TLR 22 5.0 SR roller or a DC elite for dirt tracks? Would be a great alternative with not only a different surface type but also a different brand on another 2wd buggy. And you should use the budget stuff for a comparison to the other stuff used!!
Nice video as always Bret , but for people that don't know you seem to have passed the sensor wire upwards like the motor power wires , at first I thought you forgot about the sensor wires but afterwards I saw that it was tucked in with all the other wires. Keep up the good work.
hey how to choose pinion gear T number, and what a difference it makes, i am aware you use 29T for this car. based on what consideration? i am new to this hobby so sorry for the basic question
That is good question. The buggy instruction manual has a gear chart in the back, and suggested the 29T pinion gear to be used with a 17.5T motor. If we gear up and use 30T pinion gear, we gain more RPM but lose torque; if we gear down and use 28T pinion gear, we gain torque but lose RPM. Gearing can be good tuning aid for big or small track size. Hope this helps. -Brett
What battery did you suggest with the budget build in mind? I've got everything in my amain cart just need the battery before I pull the trigger on this kit. Thanks again
Nice Scooter! Congrats on pulling the trigger. Sorry to leave you waiting for a reply, but for the budget build, a Gens Ace 2S would have been used probably. This 5000mAh: www.amainhobbies.com/gens-ace-2s-shorty-lipo-battery-pack-60c-w-4mm-bullet-7.4v-5000mah-gea50002s60d/p530207 Or this 4600mAh to save a little money: www.amainhobbies.com/gens-ace-2s-lipo-battery-pack-60c-w-4mm-bullets-7.4v-4600mah-gea46002s60d/p635628 Hope your build goes well Scooter! -Brett
You should be able to make many of the changes. I would recommend taking a look at the dirt version, the B6.2D: www.amainhobbies.com/team-associated-rc10-b6.2d-team-1-10-2wd-electric-buggy-kit-asc90024/p1157949 The B6.2 is more suited for high bite clay, carpet or astro surfaces, so it is not ideal for dirt. -Brett
Setting the gear mesh? I read about and found video, but I am unsure about how much play is needed. And is there lubrication placed on the pinion gear?
No lubrication on the pinion. And you want just a little bit of play in the gears. A good measure is to run a piece of regular white printer paper through the gears and tighten up the motor with the gears pinching the paper. Then run the paper out and there you go. You just want the gears to have a little rocking motion in them. -Brett
I’m getting back into rc after 20 plus years. I just bought the b6.2D kit today. I’m over whelmed with the changes in electronics. I use to get all my info from RC car action magazine. Where does one go these days to gain knowledge on current gear that’s out there? Anyone?
Mainly RU-vid videos or R/C forums. R/C Car Action still exists too if you would like to receive the magazings. The AMain Hobbies email newsletter also sends out lots of new product info to your inbox. Go to www.amainhobbies.com/ and at the bottom there is a sign up option. -Brett
For competition use, I'd recommend one of the Sanwa or Futaba systems. This is the Futaba 3PV: www.amainhobbies.com/futaba-3pv-3channel-2.4ghz-fhss-sfhss-radio-system-w-r304sb-receiver-fut01004347-3/p506145 And this is the Sanwa MX-6: www.amainhobbies.com/sanwa-airtronics-mx6-fhe-3channel-2.4ghz-radio-system-snw101a32561a/p754115 Both of these are great transmitters and offer a lot of programming and functionality. -Brett
There are probably some body posts that would work but I don't know specifically. For that, I recommend sending Team Associated a message letting them know your goals and asking what parts you need. -Brett
hey Brett, i have a question, what is a good roller that is suitable for bashing around 250-300 bucks. i live in Dubai so everything has a higher price because of import charges.
I apologize for those comments; they have been deleted. For a good bashing roller in that price range, I'd look for an electric 1/10 scale platform; whichever you can easily get parts for (that is most important). I would not recommend a competition buggy like this B6.2 for general bashing; instead look for a Slash 2WD, Slash 4x4, Arrma Big Rock, or a Kraton. Something you can use a 2S or 3S LiPo in. -Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies No problem Brett, I should have been the one to stop it, thanks for stepping in and thanks for some recommendations, also does AMain ship to UAE? Would be great if they could, everything is tripled in price here so its a very small community. Thanks again!
AMain Hobbies no sorry, do you use the oil (shocks and differential) that come up with the box or do you use higher or lower cst oil because you know your track and the setup?
Oh sorry. We used the stock fluid included with the kit, although we may change the fluid to better suit our track. Thicker diff fluid may be better for the high traction carpet, and the front shocks may need thicker fluid as well. -Brett

Hello, Excuse me but never use a power drill or anything with power on your screws on your RC. What is wrong with you telling people who never built an RC car before, enable them to strip out their screws and bolts, what are you thinking. I like your videos but sometimes you need to think more clearly on your directions. Thank you, peace out
