My thoughts on this popular BAA peg on the Avon! Join me for a session fishing for Barbel and Chub at Fladbury. This is a Birmingham Anglers Association (BAA) stretch..
See the peg and how I approach the session, what the challenges are and my thoughts on this peg based upon how the day went.
Please leave any comments below and I'll reply back to you as soon as I can.
Hope you enjoy the video.
Thanks for watching

Ive always wanted to fish this peg. Des Taylor filmed on there many years back. If I remember rightly, he fed tuti-fruity boilies up by the mill where water bypasses around it. He bagged up on Chub. Might give it a go one day in the Autumn. Make a change from my usual Severn haunts at Ironbridge 👍🏻

Love your content mate and we fish all the places you go to so brings back great memories of the severn and at Fladbury. We've only managed to get on the weir twice and had cracking barble and Chub, we fished where the cart wheel was on seats but out in the water so only a tiny cast out lovely grave bottom and as your throwing up steam it's drop back bites. Keep,the content coming TightLines mate 👍

I live in Atlanta now but I love seeing videos like this of places I used to fish some 50 years ago. Always liked the Fladbury section, but back then it was chub or, if you were lucky, big bream.

Thanks Tony.. Glad you liked it. I’ll hopefully be back for a Barbel once the level increases. 👍

Cracking video Rob, I’ve only fished it for predators during colder months. However, after seeing Micks RU-vid pb I really wanted to try for the barbel. I’ve not yet had chance. Love the in depth detail 👍

Thanks buddy - It’s worth a wait until the level is a bit higher and that weed has died off I’d say. I’ll be back for another session myself later in the year hopefully. Hopefully bump into you for a chat on the bank soon 👍🎣

@@RobsAngling yes be good that would be. I’ll take your advice on the levels. Mind you, I’ve always found that when the Severn has some water on the Avon doesn’t follow suit, I guess less tributaries

I know it wasn’t a true blank but it was a barbel blank. Thanks for showing people that blanks do happen and quite often. I think lads growing up these days think they should just turn up and catch and that’s not reality.

Thanks James - Blanks definitely do happen and lots of them. You’ve got to take the bad days in the right spirit to appreciate the good days properly imo. Good luck with your own fishing 👍🎣

What baits would you use around now ( November time) on the Severn and Avon.
@RobsAngling
@RobsAngling Год назад
Hi Trev, it would depend on level, colour and water temp. I’m taking a number of options with me at present including pellet, boilie, meat, worms and maggots. Work through your choices if you’re confident fish are in the swim and your not getting bites. Good luck 👍🎣

Hi hello you were talking about weed so did you try fishing with braid ??all so I heard you say the word free to fish the weir do you have to be a b a a member ??thank you
@RobsAngling
@RobsAngling 6 месяцев назад
Hi, I’d only got mono/fluorocarbon with me so that wasn’t an option on the day. There is a small area of private land - The rest is on the BAA card so you do need to be a member. 👍

@@Bishoplabosa No - That's private land so not accessible. I was on the BAA stretch..

He was saying the swim was free, no other anglers there. Not that it was free to fish.
