Are you looking for new spots to fish on UK rivers or help with your own angling? Sharing is caring so you'll find plenty of reviews on different stretches of rivers on my channel (with no hidden info!). I particularly like fishing for Barbel however I am an all round angler so there will be stacks of other species shown also!
Hopefully I can help share some of the info I've picked up along the way.. I'm just a regular guy who's learning everyday and keen to help and share the small bits of knowledge I've picked up myself along the way!

Does the river appear to be in good health? I only ask, because of the alleged pollution of our rivers, with thousands of incidents of illegal dumping of sewage. Ive been told that the river severn has been particularly hard hit.
hi rob, can you pay your day ticket, then park up at coalport bridge for the walk to the downstream section? less distance to walk with my knees the better.
Another great video Rob, i agree with using the clutch instead of backwinding. I used to fish a little further upstream opposite the power station BAA water, always had plenty of Barbel.
Hi Rob do you have any advice for someone new to fishing . After my last session of blanking all day I went home defeated close to selling all my gear. It's boring watching a static Rod all day. What do you do when you've not had any bites for 4-5 hours? I switched baits multiple times
I’d consider a move if you’ve not had a bite in around 2 hours max on the river - Try to travel light and explore a few different pegs to try and find some feeding fish. Good luck and stay positive - You’ll get a few bites 👍🎣🐟
Excellent as always Rob. Looks a nice Peg. Is it all night time fishing? Tend to avoid those stretches as a rule. I think I could comfortably fish that with my 'pin'! 👍
Great to see you back on the bank. Totally transfixed by the serenity of it. Brilliant, one of my favourite channels. Thanks for bringing so much peace and relaxation in a chaotic world.
Had some brilliant sessions down this stretch of river and the free stretch next to it. I wonder how many people have paid to fish this stretch, walked past this peg not realising this is the last peg the pub owns and have ended up fishing in the free stretch just across the little stream down stream.
Well... this is how you can get away with it: you reduce the budget of the Environment Agency to a fraction of what it was, then to compensate for lack of checks, you allow the water companies to do their own water testing and just to make sure it is all right and above board, the water company only needs to submit the two best results out of ten tests. Sounds like a plan? A little research will tell you that this is happening.
It doesn't look too bad from the drone footage as you can see that most of the river is clear. But some of the views are disgusting. Especially under the bushes. I am glad i am not a moorhen or other creature in the mucky bits of this river. Thank you for the video.
So according to EA wasn't raw sewage spewing out of the sewage works -it was a natural change in water quality brought about by part of the river bank collapsing as part of the nature erosion of the river bank. So why did the water and this explanation smell like a load of BS then?
I started Fishing last year on the Severn at Shrewsbury and the Sewage problem was a huge eye opener. It's shameful and fingers crossed a change in government will help
The Angling comminity across all rivers in England and Wales must demand that at the worst known hotspots Water Quality Monitoring System (WQMS) which is a facility to measure pollutants such as Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Phosphates (TP), Total Nitrogen (TN) etc. The required parameters are customized according to the type of factory and discharge regulations. Invariably this would mean the deployment of a A smart water monitoring system that uses several sensors to detect water quality. However, the top 5 sensors used in water quality monitoring systems are- pH sensor, turbidity sensor, TDS sensor, chloride sensor, and temperature sensor, not cheap and would have to be Vandal proofed and collected evidence collated on a daily regular basis. Then Prosecutions would be fully supported by real evidence.
Rest of Europe didn’t privatise their water industry … and have invested so that sewage and rainwater are kept separate… Tories did this to us and it’s now time that Labour take water back into national ownership… plough what has been sent to profit and dividends back into the infrastructure and sort this national disgrace
All fisherman who see this should get a few together and concrete up the pipes, this will cause a backup in there system. THIS IS A DISGRACE. ALSO REPORT IT.
Ray Walton and the Barbel Society have jointly been saying that exactly and asking all anglers to support the case for many years. Unfortunately the sport has a bad case of apathy and they have been so badly ignored. Now look where we are !
I've fished that lovely length some years ago This is absolutely diabolical but nothing seems to happen!!Thanks for raising this all in the name of big boss salaries and investors disgusting!!
Severn Trent denying that It's anything to do with them just shows total arrogance by the management. Who do they think they can pass the blame on to? It's not like the residents of Cressage are all walking down the river to take a ****. Total arrogance and disregard for the law, and for the residents of Cressage
