@@priyanshugoel3030 I'm not exactly sure what you mean. If you're talking about 2:14, flag is both Defeat and Win. Shell 'dies' on flag and created another shell. The new shell is on flag so Tyler wins.
That second revert level "seasons" is meant to teach you that revert always changes an item back to it's original form not just what it was previously made to be using x is y statements. So when stump is revert, it becomes a seed because that's what the item started the level as, not husk because that's what it was previously in the is statement chain. Likewise foliage is revert causes the foliage to return to fungus as that's what it began the level as allowing it to cycle back through to flag. As a side note, the reason you were able to separate the stump is because you made flower is revert meaning that the flowers never continued forward to the next x is y and just looped back to seed. This also means that revert takes priority over x is y and is something to keep in mind for future levels.
When he had 2 flowers stacked on top of eachother and both "flower is revert "and "flower is tree " are present one of the flowers reverted back to seed and one of them turned into tree on the same frame. Edit: nvm this makes sense. It's basically just stuff duping but reskinned

10:59 I think this works because there are two statements applying to FLOWER. The giant sentence on the right dictates that FLOWER is TREE, but applying REVERT to it essentially also creates the statement FLOWER is SEED. So you're having "FLOWER is TREE" and "FLOWER is SEED" running at the same time - it's a slight reskin of the duplication method that we're familiar with from the main game. "FLOWER is REVERT" then causes the resulting SEED object to be stuck in a looping transformation chain (SEED is SPROUT is FLOWER is SEED), while the TREE object just ends up becoming a STUMP.
At the beginning of the level, the flower was a seed. You created both stumps from the same flower, which came from the seed, so why doesn't the other become seed as well? Or are there two seeds and two trees? If so, why doesn't it do that before you duplicate the stump?
@@want-diversecontent3887 because it said "flower is revert" not stump. my guess is that it has two pieces of data behind it. the data for what it originally was when the level started, and the data for what it is now. when you duplicate items, they share a bit of the data for the origin, but it exists in a separate entity that isn't the same since it is a copy. reverting one wont change the state of the other, basically.

that revert level "Seasons" explained! before the dupe, there is one flower. after the dupe, there is a tree and a stump bc there is "flower is tree" and "flower is stump" on screen, causing the dupe. (10:05) and eventually the tree turned into stump, so there are two stumps stack on top of each other. at this point "stump is revert" is the same as "stump is seed" when there are two flowers stacked, and both "flower is revert" and "flower is tree" exist on screen, they both executed successfully, creating two reverted seeds and two transformed trees that looks like one each. (10:58) If Tyler were to try "flower is revert" when the flower wasn't sunk, it would've been a successful dupe with MUCH less confusion.
@@LoserLilith Idk when Tyler recorded these, but the game's patched both impossible levels he skipped, as well as added two extra levels to the subworld from two episodes ago.
It seems like the revert mechanic has each thing remember what it was when it was created, usually at the start of the level but item duping creates new items which possibly have different starting values than the item they’re duped from…
"Feeling" really confused me at first but it helps if you imagine that "Feeling" is "That is/That's" (e.g. "crab feeling push is win" turns into "crab that is push is win" or "crab that's push is win")
Such a great game done in a satisfying way by a great RU-vidr. I remember waiting for and watching every video, and I honestly might watch the whole original game again. Super happy to see SO MANY more episodes!
Revert only works when Something is Another-thing which is Something-else, and revert basically means Something-else is Something, which restarts the is chain. So, on Seasons, when Stump is revert, it is actually just saying Stump is Seed, restarting the word chain. Additionally, on seasons, we see that something can be two things at once (When Flower is Stump and Slower is Tree), which duplicates whatever is being said to be two things at once. So, when Flower is revert, it is actually saying Flower is Seed. At the same time though, Flower is Tree. So Flower will become Tree and Seed simultaneously, which allows the level to be completed. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but me, but hopefully, it does.
Day 8 of recommedning Perspective for Tyler to play. I'm loving the Baba content and I know this will probably be the bulk of the channel for a while, but if you ever want a break Perspective is one of my favorite puzzle platformers from when I was in high school
for the last level, i made pumpkin revert to fruit, which would turn into a pumpkin and a key. keys were breaking all over the place until i got to the "key is weak" text, then there was just a trail.
Okay, I think I know how Seasons works. So revert turns it back to the original state? But because the duplicate flower was created at a different state, revert reverts it to.. It's original state. Which is different from the original flower? It's my only guess.
I think the FEELING word means if the object is the adjective, like WIN, it will also be the thing after it, if that makes the slightest hint of sense.

The "delay" is just the order of operations. If you just did: Flag is Win Flag is Defeat you would just lose because the "defeat" rule is executed first. And if you do: Baba has Baba Flag is win Flag is defeat you would win. Because "defeat" is executed first, but because baba has baba baba will be revived, then "win" will be executed, causing you to win.
If a is b is c Is d is e, and c started the level as c, then if c is revert, c becomes b becomes a becomes c becomes b... etc. If c was originally e, and c is revert, then c becomes d becomes c becomes b becomes a... etc.
Flag feeling win is defeat is basically saying that the flag feels that if Baba wins, it therefore must be defeat. Essencially, the flag's feeling of what "win" is (in this case "defeat") overpowers the actual fact that the flag is "win". In case this still confuses some people: The flag's feelings overpowers facts.
So about that revert mechanic, when it was set to flower it was circling from seed to flower without any further item like stump, but when set on stump then it circle from seed to stump
so from what i get here is that if there is item A and statement A is B is C is D, when you make D is revert it will become A instead of C so it goes like ABCDABCD instead of ABCDCBA
(Responds to comment on finale for first baba part(the baba is defeat comment)) ke-ke meats new friends and starts wondering about baba media finds babas house and sees the words baba is defeat on the ground and is in shock for a moment but then thinks of something and replaces defeat with revert. Baba suddenly pops back into existence and is happy to see that keke worried about them baba then starts to think about all the positive things about life and realizes how lucky they are too be alive BABA IS NOT LONELY baba now has tons of new friends is is happy with there life
seasons has been altered. now revert works like how you expect it would (aka a duped item also remembers its original state). the solution is slightly different now but still the same idea.
apparently not even hempuli completely knows how the Seasons interaction works; it appears to have happened because a) flower was both revert and tree, and b) there were two flowers stacked together, so the game must've decided to split the two actions between the two flowers...?
It's not to do with there being two flowers. If it were one flower, it should still worked. Edit: Nevermind, this is wrong - you do actually need the two separate flowers.
@@Germaphobe2 Flower is Revert takes precedence in that level. In that same level, if you were able to write Seed is Revert then Seed is Sprout takes Precedence (as the item started as a Seed in that level.) I've done some testing in the level editor: When duplicating, you can lose the original identity of the item you duped, making revert no longer work, I thought that it was because of one reason, but now I managed to make it work in completely different conditions, so let's just say for now that sometimes Revert won't do anything at all.
Its original use is to utilize some useless adjectives like BEST as a group-like thing. IF is more clear but hard to position, because intuitively IF is always at the first place of a sentence. In fact, at the early stage of programming this game, Hampli tried to code IF but gave up because of its complexity.
