You guys don't realize that if he covered the whole song it would've taken too long. They only get a certain amount of time to sing so with what he was given, he did a pretty excellent job in my opinion.
...when I saw this “live” I really liked it and thought it was so good. Now, in 2020, it’s SO average. Not bad. Not good. Just...😑 Edit: this is a bit rough by me. I guess I was in a bad mood.
Happens frequently on Idol. I think it's got a lot to do with the fact that they can only sing for less than two minutes. He was one of the most original singers that the show has seen, though.
I agree with you, except that I would have picked Carly Smithson over Michael Johns. She obviously had the best voice that season, except that she didn't always make the right song choices.
Hey dude i did not say Pearl Jam was this great band. I am NOT a pearl Jam fan. I am an Eddie Vedder fan. And i will stand by my comment his cover is 100 times better that this version. I guess that is why Eddie is big time and this guy is still looking.
@stephanielostthegame -- he is a very competent singer. But he relies too much on his faux bluesy-vibratto. Like all Idol singers, they all seem to add an extra layer of sauce on everything, they can't just leave a note. I understand, you're trying to stand out, but I can predict how he's going to approach every note. He never suprises me. I did like the octave jump -- that did catch me a bit, and he stopped phrasing everything the same way during that ...
hm...i know i will get rated down, but i don't like this version too. i really like his other songs, and other versions of old songs, but this one... no please, fail.
Really? I though it was a poor job, terrible cover. Really song sounds like shit on 33 speed. I guess i am extra critical about this song since it is in my top 3 of all time greatest Classic Rock Songs. Just my opinion. If you want a good cover of this song check out Pearl Jams. They dont make it sound like shit. Hell the Blue Man Group does this 10 times better than this.
