I never get tired watching this performance. To me, it has been one of the BEST in all American Idol History. Just love this guy! He made this song his own and more!
Fav ever. I remember before this performance I thought he was cocky and I didn't care for him much and then after this I became a huge fan and I still am 8 years later!

No one can be more inventive than David Cook!!! I just love his style and everything about him. He's like a teddy bear, huggable and adorable!!! A softie, too! This is indeed a high quality vid!
2020 and still coming back to this performance. He is the best american idol. I love how he smiles and stares like you are the only person in the room. This is the first moment I knew hes gonna win AI. I just love all of his renditions. 😍😍😍
I just saw him in Eugene, OR earlier this month. He's doing his Digital Vein Tour right now in support of his third post-Idol album. It was amazing to hear that voice of his in person.
it's always nice to go back to this.. because david litterly had me at hello.. he had my attention before that but i was sold... the day he did this and the rest is history... *sigh* :) will always always be a fan of this man. Love him.
He really is amazing. I was able to see him perform live here in Liberty, Iraq. His voice is just as amazing live as you see it on TV or on his cd. He is easily the most talented male performer I've ever seen on American Idol.
this rankks as one of the sexiest cover of a song ever. david cook did not attract just women. he earned the praise of men as well. he is a true artist, not just some idol/hearthrob. IMO he was the greatest performer on stage, simply because he engaged with each listenner, each and everyone of his audience. and he was so emotionally connected to his songs you can't help but see his sensitive side and be moved by such amazing artist. and yes, sexy voice, but more than that,
This one still is very special to me - Cook did an amazing and very surprising thing with this song. My fave idol ever and I listen to his music every day. Go check it out or even better, go buy some Cook music!!!
Wow. I can't believe this performance took place 2 years ago tonight. SO much has happened since then...but this still sends shivers down my spine like the very first time I ever heard it. David Cook will ALWAYS be my Idol. NO ONE could EVER take his place.
Coming back to this again, still amazes me. Can't wait to hear new music from David Cook. I bought Cook's cover of Don't You Forget About Me on itunes. It's this year's boot song on Idol. I have it on constant replay.

The past 2 seasons as well as the current season have just bored me to tears. I have to watch all of his videos just to remind me what a great season 7 was because he was on it. And someone dared sing this song this season? Can't compare to David...
More then 4 years ago and. love David Cook's last album "This Loud Morning" No autotune, fake voice-overs or poppy sounds. Just David real voice and many different instruments
no, it's not on RU-vid or anywhere else - because I did this the same year it was released by Lionel Richie - so that is many years ago...back before RU-vid was even a thought in anybodies head. There was next to no difference between Lionel and myself. That's how good it sounded. It was fucking fantastically awesome. It blows this guys version away and comes back again to kick his ass 5 times over.
I just told my husband that i am obsessed with David Cook. And he said, " It's ok." Hey, i can marry him. If only i am not the millionth line. :-) Love this guy and and his songs.
