When I 1st started in the hobby I was told to switch the aquarium light off when 'floating any newbies' & keep it off for at least 1hr to let them get familiar with their new home, it must be VERY bright floating so high up, right near the light. 🇬🇧

Fish for Myles's pond... As it's kinda dark with a dark bottom you won't go far wrong with the Common Goldfish, Nice bright orange colour to stand out. (y)

Hey man, polar blue convicts aren’t actually hybrids they’re just short body Honduran red points (convict cousin). The hybrids you have will most likely look like bigger convicts, with a slightly mottled color. Look on monsterfishkeepers forum, on the hybrid section there have been a few examples of people breeding these.

My Angel's laid eggs, they hatched, I used a turkey baster th o suck them off a leaf. Added a floating grow out container. I was unsuccessful at raising them.. What did you feed them initially? How did you raise them? Thanks Carson. Dr. Rudy

Personally i call the hybrid "Blood parrot" cichlids like Coby, as Jellybean cichlids as jellybeans come in many colours and are the same shape like the hybrid cichlids, and "Blood parrots" don't just come in deep red, and i'd class the babies as the same Polar blue jellybean cichlids. As there has always been a parrot cichlid species (Hoplarchus psittacus).

Jellybeans have always been known as the hybrid spawn of blood parrots Calling blood parrots Jellybeans just muddies the water. As for these polar blue tho im not convinced that they are the spawn of BP and convict's

@@randomguy-hs3px I'm sticking with Jellybean cichlid, for me it fits. There all ready hybrids anyway, doesn't matter what else they are blended with, it's not like they need species protection. The Parrot cichlid (Hoplarchus psittacus) on the other hand that all ready exist long before the hybrids, and now because of these hybrids there common name has been changed to "True" parrot cichlid🙄, why has the original got to change its name because of a hybrid. It's said that Midas cichlid was used in the creation of Jellybean cichlids, and Midas family and Convict family are fairy related as they have been now to hybrid. And Jellybeans and Convicts have been know to have offspring when a male Convict and a female Jellybean is used.

@@zebedeemadness2672 each to there own. I will definitely agree on the true parrot though drives me mad trying to explain that these are the true originals. I have seen convict BP hybrids but these are what i call jellybeans BP shape convict stripes but not polar blue. Im currently in the process of trying to create some high quality ones.
