They must have updated the manual because loading the car seat into the ru-vid.comUgkxIG_q-ZqgbzYXwbeApK3AybegDUy4f2fF double stroller was mentioned in the manual (unlike previous comments/reviews). The undercarriage basket is quite large but it is difficult to access when the back rider is reclined, however my toddler usually doesn't fall asleep in the stroller these days so I haven't had an issue. I was amazed by how smooth the ride was and how easily I was able to maneuver the stroller in small spaces. My toddler loves that she can see her baby sister (see photo) during the ride :) Plus you can't beat the price! I have only loaded it once in my car and it is fairly light but my mother wouldn't be able to lift it in.

I truly appreciate your honesty in this video about how, as a first time mom, you cared too much about how things looked. I have been watching a ton of videos like these and cannot fathom the amount of money people are willing to spend on products that are not as good as others just because they're cuter. I feel this comes from a want to "keep up with the Joneses" so I am very thankful that there is a person who is being honest and saying "looks aren't everything."

Yeah I was super put off by her assuming that "a lot" of us care about the look of baby essentials in our house. W in T actual F??? You truly have to be a shallow, vapid, annoying person to care about the "look" of baby things. I'm not even gonna finish the video. 🙄🙄🙄

You put this so politely. Ultimately, some people value a social media aesthetic over choosing what’s best to keep their baby content and comfortable. That’s pretty embarrassing as a parent so I appreciate her honesty.

My first born didn’t like the calming setting most times with the snoo either... however, you can program it in the app so that it doesn’t go to those higher calming levels. Essentially, you can just use it for its baseline rocking motion. You can also set it for the wheening setting and just use the noise. We used this to transition our guy to the crib - and overall it worked well.
@rachelshvetz
@rachelshvetz 3 года назад
You can change that setting on the snoo by locking it on baseline or whatever level you want it at. It won’t increase levels if it’s locked even when baby cries. We absolutely loved the snoo and it was such a godsend in the first few months.
@Jel0506

The angelcare bath seat is by far my favorite baby product. In the winter time it was super cold and water would cool much quicker if there wasn’t a lot of water. So being able to fill the tub with as much water needed kept the water at the desirable temperature longer.

We actually didn’t buy a bassinet for our baby. There’s just no room for a bunch of extra stuff at our house and I didn’t want to spend money on something we didn’t absolutely need. I love my Angel hair baby bath recliner, but I NEVER used it in the tub. I used it nearly everyday in the shower from about a month old. My son loved the water and he would be so content just being with me instead of screaming while he waited for me to rush and get out the shower to get back to him. I didn’t think it was intended for the 🛀.

I’ve never agreed with a regrets/favorites video as much as I have yours!! The snoo, the swing, the baby bath! I wish I had bought a double travel system and rocker as well. I’m on my 3rd now and we are trying out the arms reach bassinet, the graco duet connect swing and I got a really sturdy rocking chair off of facebook market place for 75 bucks! Pretty excited! I love my solly baby wraps and baby bjorn mini for the newborn phase. I used my wildbird ring sling a lot with my first but not so much my second (he was so heavy!). I want to check out the Lillelight carrier with this one because I’m not a fan of bulky structured carriers but do like the back carry options. Also we have used the guava lotus travel crib, super easy to setup and tote around. And the munchkin baby bath is my fave!!

3rd time mom here. I live in a small space with mine. I have a 4 year old, a 2 year old, and I'm due with baby girl in july. With my first I bought SO MANY things that I never used. Things I regret buying - baby towels and wash rags, baby bath seats, changing table (I just ended up using the bed) baby gowns, lots and lots of baby socks, baby shoes (seriously they don't walk that young!) baby swings, mine have hated them all except the glider. and probably a few other things Things I loved - My arms reach co sleeper, my graco glider, a pillow that i can just sit baby on, my joovy glass bottles and my dr brown glass bottles, my joovy stroller that could fit up to 3 kids. A really good all in one carseat. lilly baby carrier, my 4moms playpen, seriously go look it up! A simple baby bouncer. My second loved to bounce and a simple jumper. My joovy spoon, my first got to use this but my second couldn't use it due to no space. The joovy stroller, quill I think..., is able to fit up to 3. The problem I had is that even though I have a 4 and a 2 year old, my 4 year old out grew that thing LONG ago. I ended up giving it to my neighbors. Those are some things on the top of my head.

Hey Alleiy, Quick tip as a four month snoo parent user. If you put the snoo in the manual, it won't rump up the rocking when the baby cries; the rocking speed won't be affected by any noise or movement

For pack and plays, the guava family lotus. Not only is it pretty, it is more functional than the average pack and play because the mattress goes to the floor and the side opens up, so their isn't a weight limit. even when kids get bigger, it can be used as something they can easily crawl in and out of to nap without climbing over the top. There isn't a risk of breaking if they like to jump either. Added bonus is the bassinet attachment which we use as our "downstairs" and travel bassinet when we have a tiny baby.

My two boys are going to be 17 months apart, I'm due in April. Life is crazy! A cheap Costco brand pack-n-play or a little more expensive Evenflo both are great. I liked the Costco one for sleeping once my baby outgrew his bassinet but still needed a place to sleep in our bedroom. It is smaller but very sturdy. Our Evenflo pack-n-play was largeish and I put it in the kitchen and would use it outdoors when I needed to get stuff done and didn't want my son running around everywhere. It was a bit more wabbley but I did get it as a handy-me-down and one piece was coming loose. I will probably re-buy my own this time around.

Absolutely completely agree with you about the nail clippers! We started using the cuticle trimmers when baby was like 2wks old and people thought we were nuts. Also as far as the PNP I definitely would not waste money getting a fancy one like 4moms or the nuna. We have a graco and use it everyday. If you're looking for containment and not necessarily sleeping I'd recommend a tent from the California beach co. Edited to add - we have the halo swivel bassinest and HATE it. The idea of the swivel is great except for the fact that unless the top is lined up with the base directly in the middle it is lopsided and uneven. I saw after we received it plenty of other parents had the same dissatisfaction with it.

We also have the angel care bath seat but the side opening can be a trap for baby legs to get caught in so I'd share with everyone to be careful if you ever put your baby in the water next to it for washing their back/bottom. I got the solly wrap and it takes so long to get it on just for my baby to cry more than half the time he's in it, so I'll look into your recommendation!

Helpful video. Thanks. We're about to have our second as well. I've also worked in childcare many years. I feel like pack and plays are not something where you need to spend a lot of money unless the baby is sleeping in it every night. We like to travel so we used ours a great deal. I don't remember the exact one we used. Biggest thing is something that's easy to move, set up and break down (especially when visiting my parents two story house). Wheels are great to slide across floor. We hated the extra changing table that attaches to top because they're too short and you have to hunch over to change a diaper and it killed our back (I'm 5'6"). I dont think the bassinet is that important either as they normally have two height settings like a crib. However if you're interested in either of those features I did use one that flips with a button that was practical (plastic changing pad on one side and flips for newborn bassinet on the other). Extra cubbies that hang on side is nice. The pack and plays are essential for travel for us, and a safe place to put baby because we have a 2 year old and a big clumsy dog. Congrats on baby #2!

Yes the mamaroo is one we regret too. We got the 4moms pack in play with bassinet. They have a newer one that the bassinet is larger I wish that one was available at the time because he outgrew the bassinet so fast (he was 21.5” long at birth). He hated sleeping in the pack and play though but we did use that for play. Also it was hard for me to reach in to grab him (I’m short). This time we are buying the nestig bassinet to crib conversion because the bed is longer so he can stay in their longer then convert to crib once he starts rolling over. My husbands recliner in the living room was way better and cuddling in bed even better, but mind the safe sleep seven. Oh the words I have for that glider!😆 Some people love theirs though so try it, but definitely a reclining one and maybe a neck pillow lol.

Went to sit in my rocker to nurse in the middle of the night, missed and gave myself a concussion by hitting the windowsill instead. We never used it much and it’s being sold soon so I don’t have to have it on the house when my second baby arrives haha. I won’t miss it at all.

@@shawndrahoffer6213 we bought the DaVinci Piper Recliner/Glider and it is so nice, you can recline all the way back and it swivels 360 degrees and glides/rocks. It was reasonably priced (about $360 if I remember right) and it’s actually a pretty attractive glider.

FTM here. Baby is 9 weeks and I love the gowns. They are so much easier than the zipper pajamas. I was gifted so many zipper pajamas and use them because they were gifts, but absolutely hate using them at night. When sleep deprived the last thing I want to do is unzip pajamas and take out his legs to change a diaper. It’s so much easier to lift the gown and change him.

We have a Pack N Play that has a "bassinet" attachment (essentially raises the bed up so you don't have to bend down so far). The diaper changing station on it is a joke because it's too much hassle to detach, so i just leave that part off. We love it otherwise, though. It's our primary crib and you can buy a mattress to make it a bit more comfortable for baby. I'll warn, though, that like many Graco products, the initial setup makes IKEA products look crazy simple. We also got a Graco stroller that works with our carseat carrier. I've recently discovered that i can leave the carrier out, lay the seat flat, put a blanket down for comfort, and use it as a really simple portable bed to keep my baby near me while i move around the house.

Also I highly recommend getting a rocking recliner chair as opposed to a nursery glider because the gliders aren’t very comfortable and I never wanted to spend hours in it like I needed to. This time around we got a client chair that rocks and glides for a nursery and it’s so much more comfortable that we will sit hours in it with baby 💕

I guess living in the north where the weather is freezing for months at a time...I loved the onsies.. and if you ever used the primitive swings from 70/early80's you would have a entirely different out look on your swing choices.. also playpens vs pack n play

This time around im buying items that have dual function. Like a Baby swing that is also a rocker or bouncer too. The pack n play instead of a bassinet, because this has the infant seat or bassinet, then a full bassinet, and a changer and caddy on it..then its a portable crib for travel too. It's a 4 in 1. 6 in 1 highchair, well because...its self explanatory...he can use it reclined while an infant..so he can be with us for family dinners..and then grows with him! Just keeping to this kind of theme because I remember with my first son..we had sooooo many things it was overwhelming and we had no space for living amongst the baby items. Of course we will have other items..but the ones mentioned really cover many and will take up less space so we have room for more! Good luck mama's!

I wouldn't stress too much about a travel system for one child when having your next. We have 5 kids with another on the way and I find that the child that's growing out of the pram, generally goes fine without needing to be in the pram. She would rather walk. Plus if you have a carry pack/wrap you can always use that. Don't beat yourself up of stress over needing a different one. You will be fine 😊 if you didn't like the travel system, then yes by all means, sell it and get one you would prefer.

I agree with the size and heaviness of the Snoo but it definitely should be used right as the baby gets home. I've heard so many stories of parents who have bought it weeks after out of desperation but by then the baby has learned to sleep elsewhere. It's a real hard transition if you don't have one ready for your first night at home. I borrowed it from my sister during my first pregnancy, no problems. I bought one for myself for this upcoming baby, so it's ready to go!

I’m a FTM and my baby is due next month, so I haven’t used it yet but the graco duet soothe swing and rocker came highly recommended to me! I have it set up and it’s not terribly ugly, haha. It’s a swing and it detaches and becomes a rocker that you can carry around easier which I love!

Definitely recommend investing in a rocker. We bought a old school rocking chair last min and it was just the normal wooden ones with padding. It was uncomfortable after sitting for a long period of time and plenty of nights we accidentally fell asleep in it. But we made it work, and used it religiously still loved it even though it got uncomfortable.

I had one of those big ugly FP swings. My baby never liked it as a newborn. But he was pretty colicky. He came around with the swing in maybe month 3 or 4, and we pushed the limits of acceptable by having him in it (supervised) until 7 months lol. I’m an exclusive pumper and it came in great for pumping sessions. But every baby is different and you can never know what they’ll like

I am a 7th time mom and I disagree about the Snoo. I think maybe your issue was you got it at 8 weeks. I have had my 7th baby in there since day 2 and it has been a lifesaver for my sleep. I have probably had every baby item made for the last 13 years. Lol. Totally agree with the ring sling. I love mine and have used it for every baby.

Out mamaroo got stuck on the highest setting as soon as we plugged it in. It lasted 2 months. My twins love these little seats that you can bounce and vibrate. We also basicly only use pjs that zip from the top down because you just have to unzip from the foot to the belly to get the diaper off. I would also highly suggest looking up cloth diapers and elimination communication. We have those baths and had the lotus flower for a sink. Sinks are actually too gross to me so didnt use it. We just do what you do or I get in with them. Only get 1 bath towel. I use onesies now that they are 6 months. I hated them when littler. We have the baby file because cutting is scary for me.

Also liked the same baby bath you had but we didn’t fill our tub up too much but probably will try a small blow up tub bc I have it. Definitely wouldn’t get baby towels if I were to make a registry again. We didn’t use our pack n play with COVID we didn’t travel
