JessiSmiles maybe try karate mixed in with swimming. Karate (if it’s available) would allow him to get some aggression out and swimming will teach him team work and patience!😊
This sounds really similar to what happened with my little brother at around the same age. Doctors, specialists, and even me and my family thought he was Autistic... it wasn’t until his speech therapist noticed that he was just tongue tied!! Couple weeks later we got it clipped and he hasn’t stopped talking since😂
JessiSmiles i cried watching this. Noah and my daughter Victoria were born on the same day and she also doesn’t speak but just like noah she pulls us to where stuff is. Same thing with the outlet covers, those things lasted 2 days. i never really believed in astrology but omg do i believe it now, it’s scary how much alike Noah and Victoria are.
I was a super rough kid too!! at 10 months old my mom couldn't handle me anymore LOL so she put me in gymnastics! i grew up in that world and i have since become a coach and the progress with the 2 year old mommy and me classes is CRAZY!! Most kids with a lot of energy or that are rough find it super fun cause they can just jump around and jump off high things or swing on a rope. 1. it tires them out 2. i develops their spacial awareness, which in the long run, if they don't stick to gymnastics it helps them in any other sport and finally 3. They can be rough in a safe environment ! I HIGHLY suggest this maybe once a week and see how he likes it! Some are afraid at first but the little boys usually go crazy cause it's so exciting and active !!

Im studying child development and sometimes children take longer to talk when learning 2 languages simultaneously. They are capable of doing this so you don't have to eliminate any of the languages being spoken to him! Also coming up with sign terms helps them express themselves/communicate when they can't talk (:
I learned that sign language helps! Parents think it will delay their kids or make them not want to talk at all but that's not true! Kids that learn multiple languages have been proven to be smarter too.
Yes this happened to my brother didn't really talk until he was 4. There wasn't anything wrong with him he actually is a genius and scored a perfect score on his SAT and won I don't know how many essay contests. I think part of the reason why he is so smart is that he learned to think in two languages simultaneously. So it's seriously nothing to worry about on the other hand it's probably something good.
kali yay I agree I taught my son sign language to help him communicate sooner but he has already started to use the word together with the sign and he's only 1
Lizbeth Martinez yes i’m doing early childhood education in college and i was thinking the same thing. Children all develop differently and that doesn’t mean there is something wrong with them if they develop at a slower rate than other children.
Maybe try putting him in gymnastics as an introduction to playing with other kids. And it may also help with speach. It really helped with our daughter.
Please have his hearing checked. My sister didn't start trying to say mama, dada, or other beginner words till she was like 2. Around 5 we found out that part of her ear drum was not formed right. She had surgery to fix this and it changed her development dramatically. She also was in speech therapy.
I actually agree with this. My coworker daughter was having similar issues until 3 1/2 and she finslly took her to a hearing specialist or whatever their called lol and they found out shes completely deaf in one ear.
This can happen as well!! I’m a speech and hearing major in school and hearing impairments/disabilities can impact speech/language development. It’s so important to regularly get hearing exams for babies and getting intervention as early as possible!
When Bella was 2 years and 4 months old, everyone was telling me to put her in speech therapy because she was not talking even though she was trying. I just feel like babies all develop at their own speed, they do it when they’re ready. Literally over night she started. You do what you feel is right for your family, but don’t be too stressed out about it. I’ve been there, I was googling it, I was so anxious and worried. Parenting is hard, girl.
You have completely stepped up as a person to be the best you can be for your son. I put my babies in baby gymnastics. Best thing EVER. Helped them integrate into being around other kids and helps get their energy out. 10/10 would recommend!

I am a swim lesson instructor and I recommend putting him in them as early as possible. At the age he is now he can interact with kids while focusing on a new skill. It’s a double win
I'm a speech therapist and i am so glad you pursued getting him evaluated. People mean well but...they often say things that end up being harmful. There's no harm in starting therapy, there can be big harm in not starting. He'll do great!

I can’t wait to see how Noah responds to it ❤️ gymnastics is wonderful for the social aspect of things, but I’d much rather have a professional in the area of language to help
I'm doing a Masters in Psychology looking at language development and the amount of cases I have read about bilingual kids developing languages slower it crazy it's very normal, so much so it's often misdiagnosed as DLD. Just dont stop talking in both languages around him, I'm sure he'll developed his language fine soon enough, sending my love ❤.
Elise France yeah I’m bilingual, moved to an English speaking country before I even started school. I guess when I started being surrounded by loads of English I grew quiet, according to my parents, but had comfortably spoken my mother tongue before that as I heard from stories. Then I started school, and one day just came back a chatterbox. Like, my teacher would talk to my mam and say that I talked too much 😂
Yes!!!! Me!! I just had to figure out where i spoke which language and why i needed to speak that language. That just takes time and i think thats why bilingual kids speak later.
I had this problem too! My parents would speak Spanish and I would watch shows in English. I guess the doctor told them, "I was confused". I didn't know how to tell the difference between both languages. I started speaking until 4, I couldn't shut up ever since. Every child is different and don't stress too much on it. BTW I ended up being an AP student in high school went on to being a RN. Never went to pre k or Kindergarten and I started a yr late.
Same!! Russian and Norwegian at the same time was a problem. I didn't speak properly until I was 4, had to sort out the languages in my head. The cool thing about bilingual kids is also that we do not usually think in a language! Noah will figure it out, I'm sure!
I’ve heard many people say that little boys start talking late. Also my sisters son, my nephew was diagnosed with autism mostly because of his speech delay. He was re tested two years later and showed no signs of autism. Some kiddos just start talking later.
I also wanna mention that my nephew benefited a lot from speech therapy. He’s blossomed to be such a smart, witty, talkative little boy and I’m so proud of him

Was Noah checked for a tongue tie at birth? I know you had some struggles with breastfeeding and reflux etc which can all be symptomatic of a tongue tie. HeidiKimTV suspected her daughter may be autistic, she was non verbal and easily frustrated, turned out she had a tongue tie which was restricting movement too much and she couldn't form the words. Once they got it snipped she was like an entirely different child! Thought it was worth mentioning.
I was tongue-tied until 19! I was a miracle and it didn't affect my speech like it should of, i didnt even have a lisp which baffled doctors. I didnt need to even get it cut but did anyways🤷🏼♀️ stuff is wild!
Girl I didn’t talk AT ALL for over two years. I don’t know if this your situation but I went to a speech class and everything when I was little and it didn’t work for me but I just chose not to talk. My mom taught me sign language when I was young to communicate to her. I’m a senior in high school and I’m in all AP and honors classes and registered as gifted. There may not be a problem but he could just not want to.
Tiana Murff my son is a bit delayed he turns 3 in July and is just now starting advance a bit. I always thought he was a bit delayed because I see 2 year olds having full blown conversations
To enable communication with your son you could start using ASL to communicate. It won’t inhibit the speech at all and it will allow you to communicate with him properly and make him feel heard.
Hey, I have toddler who is about 2.5 years old. At around 15 months we had him enrolled into early intervention because his communication skills were behind. My son was a very active boy, he loved being silly, running around always getting into things. It was hard to get him to sit still to teach him things. The lady who came to our home on weekly visits recommended we try teaching him baby sign language. Just basic commands like eat, water, all done, more, thank you. And it helps SO MUCH. He picked it up so quick and was signing to us the basic things he needed and those soon became his first words other than mama and dada. And when he turned two, we came home to visit for a month and he played with his cousins who were well over 3 and VERY talkative girls. After spending so much time with them he started talking even more out of the blue! I’m so glad you’re taking it so well because I was a worried mess. Just wanted to share my story! I’m sure he will start talking more soon with his speech therapy. Best of luck to you and your sweet baby 😊
I used to babysit a little girl that used baby sign language, she was 18 months old I think. At first I was confused because the parents didn't explain it to me but then I caught up on it and it was very helpful. She then learned how to talk normally
My best friends son was also speech delayed and wasn’t progressing past stage 2 baby food. She had a speech and occupational,therapist come to this house and teaching him sign language was a big help. He is now in his second year of college and thriving. A happy normal outgoing young man.
I’m not a mom or anything but I have heard that when a baby grows up with more than one language more often than not they develop speech a little later just because their brain is still processing the difference between the languages. Butttttt also like what do I know, I’m sure the speech therapy will be great! You guys are doing amazing and Noah is soooo cute 💗

@@youtubeuser1327 My friend's youngest son had this issue and that's the first time I ever heard such a thing was possible. He was almost completely deaf,but luckily he wasn't in any pain.
my brother had the same issue. he had to have tubes put in his ears which is farley common for babies. as soon as he had that done, he was able to start talking

Girl I choked reading this! This is how I feel at my job but I work in a nursing home. One resident starts crying and I literally look at her and say "What's wrong? Here eat this and chill a bit." People tell me its rude to say that but 90% of the time, she wants a nutrigrain bar
My son is delayed in speech as well still looking for a great speech therapist. Hes 21 months old 😭 if he throws tantrums it's because hes mad that he cant communicate and it breaks my heart
Have you heard of communicating through picture exchange? It can be a great tool to help him communicate in the mean time so that he at least feels like he is being heard and can hopefully feel less frustrated. A lot of state agencies can help you find a speech therapist, if you haven’t already looked through them!
Hey just from a hairstylist perspective, it can actually be traumatic for a child to be held down like that during a haircut and could actually make the problem worse! Try to find a barber/stylist that is educated with sensory problems and everything. There are videos online of barbers working with the person/child rather than against them. Hopefully I made sense, I’m very sleepy! 💜
My grandfather would use his razor with the cap on it (his face razor), and pretend to shave his face and head and pretend to shave my son's hair. By the time my son got his first hair cut, we had no problem with him sitting still while they cut his hair. It was crazy. I never even thought of doing that.
Kind of like trimming my dog's hair. He really doesn't need a "cut" but he looks cute with his tragedies cut. He will leave the room when I pick up scissors. Don't mention any type of hair oil. hahah He does not want any oil on his hair....I don't oil him often. I just wanted a slight sheen. He wants no part of it!! I would also just do whatever he would sit for.
Awww my speech language pathologist heart gets so happy when parents are so involved and all about early intervention ❤️ also, when I was in grad school, our professors had us reading tons of articles on introducing babies to dual languages and it NOT hindering their speech and language acquisition. I promise you were NOT slowing things down. Research actually says that it helps ❤️ keep rocking as a parent! And don’t stop speaking to him in both languages!
Look into Sensory Processing Disorder. It's hard at this age to tell what's normal toddler behavior and what's because he's having issues processing his senses. He might be super rough because he's seeking physical input for example. My son has SPD and the first thing we noticed was his speech delay. Early intervention is best so it's worth looking into.
Yes! All kids have some problems with processing different senses, but some kids just have absolutely no idea how to process them. I have a feeling this is a big reason why my son is a "picky eater" he may like the taste of something but the texture throws him so far off he refuses to eat. I'm constantly worried about his speech because BOY DOES HE TRY by using all the gibberish in the world, but hes just started to say hi and little words like that and hes 15 almost 16 months. But he seems to be learning more. The roughness I can understand to some extent because mine is very grabby/handsy when it comes to LONG HAIR! Boys, girls, kids, adults, you name it, he wants to grab it. Not always to pull it, but sometimes. We play semi rough with him so that he isnt afraid of everything like his friend is so sometimes he thinks it's normal so we have to be aware of it. I've heard if you tire them out first then let them interact with others it can help, but there are kids that are the opposite so 🤷♀️ mine has been going to daycare since he was 5 months old so I think that helped.
I totally agree! It's hard to tell the difference between toddler and SPD unless you've raised both. My son has SPD (along with a host of other things). My daughter doesn't. She still threw crazy tantrums and was quite creatively naughty for awhile there, but it was different from my son's behavior. She seemed like she just wanted to control everything (she still does at 8, lol). He seemed like he was uncomfortable or in pain.
My son was my first kid so I thought everything he experienced was normal. He is just picky, etc. It didn't help that his pediatrician was super dismissive of everything I brought up. It wasn't until an OT overheard me discussing my son to his speech therapist that I ever thought about having him evaluated. Now that he's four his SPD is so much more obvious to me. Only when he's really disregulated though because he's like a completely different person. He's been in OT for over a year and we're still struggling to figure out what he's over and under responsive to because although for some kids it can be really obvious when something is bothering them, my son doesn't express it. I only find out once he starts acting up and it lasts for a minimum of a week, which is also not super typical, so it's hard to pinpoint what caused it. So it's important to keep in mind that not all kids with SPD present the same so it can be even more difficult to tell what's "normal".
I'll also add that Moms know their children better than doctors and don't feel bad for pushing for evaluations or extra tests. I was repeatedly told that my daughter was just picky. Even the nutritionist that she saw because she wasn't gaining weight assured me that she was just picky, it's normal for her age, and just gave me tips like put butter on everything to fatten her up. I eventually firmly pushed for allergy tests and it turned out that she is allergic to a bunch of things, the two main ones being rice and eggs (which are in sooo much) but it just makes her tummy hurt which she rarely complained about (complaints that her doctor brushed off as hunger pains because she wasn't eating) and now that I've cut her allergens out of her diet she eats fine and has plumped right up. It also took me almost a year to get my son into speech therapy. So trust your gut.
My middle nephew did not start speaking until he was four, and when we got him into speech therapy he began to blossom. Patience was something i learned so quickly with him in my life. I hope Noah blossoms quickly as well. ❤️❤️❤️

This video was not only helpful. But so comforting and encouraging to hear. Our sons are almost the exact same age and we were pregnant at the same time so I feel like I’ve been through it with you. My baby boy is having the EXACT same delays my son is having and I never thought of speech therapy. This video made me cry because I felt like such a bad mom like I was messing something up but every single word of this video I can relate to. I’m so happy I’m not alone. My son started speech at the same age as Noah a year ago. He used to speak so clearly and started showing serious regression a few months before 2. He stopped saying mama around 18 months old and didn't start saying it again until recently. I bawled like a baby when he started calling me Mama again. He continued going down hill w tantrums and sensory issues and around 2.5 I had him diagnosed with Autism. Mainly to get him as much therapy as possible and have insurance pay for it. He has been in Speech, Occupational and ABA for a while now and it has done wonders. It also helps a lot with kid to kid interaction because the therapy center is like one big playground where he has a ton of friends that learn in the same way he does. To me all Autism means is it takes a different approach for him to learn things..once he figures out that way he seems to excel Good luck mama- Hang in there. Once he starts speech I am sure things will turn around fast.

I feel your pain. You are describing exactly how my son is to a tea! He’s 3 now and we’ve had him in speech therapy for 3 months now and I feel like it’s helping him but he’s very distracted. We believe he has adhd/autism and are at the point that we want him to get the help he needs but are torn between getting him evaluated for meds. It’s Very frustrating at times when he’s being crazy and throwing a tantrum and just being extra wild. Then he has his moments where he’s the sweetest boy and listens and does what he’s told. All of my friends say they’re kids are wild and act like my son but nope my son is on a whole other level compared to their kids. It does get better eventually(or so I’ve been told lol). Keep up the good work you’re doing great!

I love how willing you are to get Noah help with his speech. Tons of parents get offended when the possibility of a delay is mentioned. As a mom of 3 going on 4. I can tell you interaction with other kids is the best way to get them talking. My son was 2 when we got him evaluated for his speech delay. He was evaluated, but since the delay was not considered severe enough. We were sent home with some things we could do to help him at home. I started doing all the baby activities, baby classes, and long park playdates. He was talking by 2 1/2. He now talks incredibly clear. He had been since he was 3. All I can say, is take him to the baby activities and play groups. Yes they get sick a little more often, but they build one heck of am immune system. If hasn't yet been, get him evaluated for his speech. You are a great mom and Noah will do amazing with your help
The speech therapy will help so much! Im sure the speech therapist will rule out hearing issues and what not before continuing with his therapy. I am a lead teacher at a preschool and i work with 2 year olds. Speech delay is quite common, i wouldnt worry about it too much, but make sure you are doing something to solve it! 🙂 implement some simple signs from ASL. ASK him what he wants instead of allowing him to point to stuff. Ect ect. I have seen amazing results with speech therapy; and if speech therapy isnt helping, try a different speech therapist! How is his motor skills? If those are delayed you can also mix occupational therapy in there too. Best of luck to you! Long time subscriber! ❤️❤️
Frequent play dates with other moms or even just one, in the setting of your choosing. That way it won't be sensory overload and he'll get familiar with the other kids instead of trying to interact with a bunch of strangers. My nephew didn't like other kids until I started bringing him around my boyfriend's nieces and nephews. He bonded with them and it made it so much easier for him to want to interact say at the park.
Also one way to some therapy techniques at home is to teach him sign language! When children are delayed some speech therapist start off with signs and pairing the signs with your words! So for the balcony you can teach Noah to sign open in sign language while you say the actual word. You start off with helping him make the sign then reinforcing him and opening the door!
My son will also be 2 shortly. We noticed he was a bit delayed with his speech too. We took him to a speech therapist and an audiologist. Turns out he had A LOT of fluid in his ears and could not hear properly at all. They described it as if he was hearing under water and he could not hear himself so he wasn’t talking because of that. After meeting with an ENT specialist they recommended getting tubes put in his ears. it is a very common procedure but it was still scary because he had to go under anesthetic but WOW is there a major difference. Seriously it’s crazy. Now instead of ignoring me because he can’t hear me, he just ignores me because, well... toddler lol. It’s been a couple months since the surgery and he has progressed SO MUCH. Maybe it’s worth taking a look into for your little guy too. I love all your baby updates and can totally relate. Loved you before baby - love you now just as much! keep up the good work mama!
Definitely enrolling him in preschool helps out a lot. I put my son in preschool at 3 and it was amazing for him! He’s also in swimming classes- he sucks at it now lol but he’s getting better! Check out what your community center or rec centers to see if they have classes for him ☺️

I would highly recommend taking Noah to horse riding lessons or to do something with animals. Like a petting zoo where other kids are. (I'm in the UK so you may not have riding schools over there) but if he's got other kids in the classes and sessions then it helps him interact, and being around animals will probably make him more gentle as working with animals teaches you how to respect their space and how to clap and stroke them and just respect the animal in general. I worked with children who had special needs (I don't mean Noah does btw!!!) And when they were horse riding for the first time they were scared and didn't know that giving the horse a kick to move forward and go Into trot, didn't need a properly hard kick. But after that first week they learned how to treat animals properly and not be so rough and be aware of the animals reactions and telltale signs. It then later translated into their friendships with peoe. I can't have kids, so I'm talking from my own perso all experiences growing g up on a farm yard.
As a mom with a child who is on the spectrum with speech and development disabilities I commend you for getting Noah into speech early. The best thing to do is to get your little one that extra support as soon as possible. Good job mama!
My little guy just turned four months old! These past couple of weeks he has changed so much... he holds stuff now, smiles, mimics the sounds when we say "hello" and "I love you". So crazy to think ahead to when he'll be two years old. You're doing great mama!
Baby gymnastics!!! They get to get all their energy out, and I think I’m going to let my 14 month old maybe go to a daycare 1 day a week to learn how to be with kids
I recommend it 100% and if you like it have your little one for more often. I got my son into daycare at 1 and the daycare he went too had a learning curriculum, he been well advanced ever since and he was only there for a year! Being around other kids with any type of learning program is beneficial.
I put my daughter in daycare twice a week for the social interaction, she’s a really shy kid and it did help. It also helped her when it came to kindergarten because she was used to going somewhere with a bunch of other kids. She didn’t cry AT ALL on the first day!
I’m so glad that ppl finally are talking more about children being speech delayed. I couldn’t talk until I was 4... well began to talk around 4. I was speech delayed and I would attempt to talk but nobody could understand me, it made me the odd ball out for so many of years. I stayed in speech therapy until I was 10. I wish i stayed longer bc I still to this day ( just turned 19 yesterday ) have issues with my speech. I don’t hear many ppl talk about their children having issues like this but it’s important and needs to be talked about bc if it goes unnoticed and it’s neglected then it effects the child so much in many ways!!
I did my undergrad in speech therapy and I am now working in behavior therapy for my masters. You are so right! It is sooo important to do early intervention. The earlier the better! You are a great mom and are doing the best thing you can do at this point.
Nice to see a real life story about parenting being hard! I have 3 year old twin boys they do speech therapy, play therapy and swim lessons. I thought the boys could never do swim lessons as crazy busy and active as they are, but the instructor is always telling me how amazing they are doing. The therapys are play based and they always look forward to going!! Good luck mama, it does get easier!

I love getting updates about Noah! He’s so precious! I’m a mom of three and my kids are older (12, 13 and 17...I’m only 38, so that feels crazy to say!) It doesn’t seem that long ago that they were Noah’s age. Each one was very different at 2. My oldest spoke on time and my second child spoke early. Of course by the time she started speaking, my third was already born. I think in some ways that naturally made her grow up faster because she is honestly my most mature child, even to this day. My son was more delayed on a few things. I wouldn’t panic about the speech, but I think it’s awesome that you’re putting him in speech therapy. I hope it is helpful. When you mentioned the coffee thing, it was funny to me personally because my little brother used to do that to my grandma, so she bought a plastic coffee cup and would put water and the more stable he got with drinking it, she’d change it up to drinks that she didn’t think he would spill. Anyway, she started out giving him water in a coffee cup when she was getting her coffee and told him it was coffee time and gave him his own little cup with water and he stopped grabbing hers. He would just sit and drink with her at the table. My son repeated the same thing. He started grabbing for my coffee cup, so I tried the same thing. He kinda seemed to think it was special, he had his own “big boy coffee” too, which was only water but at least I didn’t have to worry about him burning his hands or making a mess. Just a suggestion.
I agree. But idk if this is just about releasing energy or if he has a hard time focusing. My nephew was the same, very high energy , destructive , late speech etc and it was so hard to get him to focus when we spoke to him. Now he is 5 yrs old and he is learning karate to release his energy, when we tried putting him in class earlier (like when he was 3-ish) the Masters were like he isn't focusing or listening to the commands and was doing whatever he wanted etc.
I can completely relate to you & your experience now. My son at 2 had speech regression and started receiving services but we noticed it was more than just speech & in Miami at the UM campus they were able to do multiple evaluations for us and he was later diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Not saying that is what is happening with Noah because you know the signs but the same interventions help toddlers who have delays. OT (occupational Therapy) is such a great way to get him to learn sensory processing and to just make him aware of others and social skills. Once we put my son into OT it was a game changer for him in social settings. With him receiving speech you can request for them to do small group therapy so he is around others and doing parallel activities. Early intervention is key to any development delay. You got this!
A free suggestion is library story time. My two boys love it and it’s really helped with socialization with other kids their age. You could call your local library to see what they offer. Ours isn’t just about reading stories; it’s also play, singing, a craft at the end, etc. Noah is absolutely adorable. You’re doing a great job!
Omg my girl just turned 2 last week and she is just like Noah, she has been in speech therapy since February and has been improving so much! She loves to look her self in the mirror like Noah and the tantrums and picky eater. 😂😂😂😂
Swimming is a good idea, or maybe gymnastics? I don't know how early they can start but both are great because they're structured at times, but also allow them to have free time to interact and have fun! I did both as a kid and have fond memories❤
Hey Jessie!! I’m a speech and hearing major in school, thank you for talking about this. Speech delays are so misjudged, and there’s a lack of education around the topic. Seeing parents talk about this is so important, and thank you for doing the appropriate steps and getting him to a speech pathologist. In the long run it will make ALL the difference!! From what you’re describing, and what I’ve studied I think he has a blocking disorder. It’s where they want to talk, know what they want to say, but physically cannot get it out!! It maybe something to have the SLP look for! I’m sure you will get the appropriate help and he will develop in his own way!!
Consistent napping schedule and learning games and engaging activities CHANGED MY LIFE. My first boy acted EXACTLY like that and he literally was just super hyperactive and needed lots of engaging activities, talking and explaining, learning activities (things HE wanted to do, not what I wanted him to do) and consistent naps! If he doesn’t have a consistent sleep schedule then it’ll make him sleep less at night and throw more fits during the day because of being over tired
Noah is so lucky to have a mom like you. You are trying so hard to make Noah be successful. Noah is going to have a great life because he has you a mother.
I was delayed in speech as a child and did speech therapy. I really think it’s great that you put him in speech therapy at his age! He will catch up in no time!!
Start him in swim lessons! And then when he's older (like 4 or 5) you could try a team. That way he is getting out his competitive nature and it will make him really tired so he will sleep better at night.
My son was diagnosed as autistic and minor adhd and i am still working with him on the same stuff. Being to rough and how to handle not getting his way. Its defiantly rough but once i understood what his triggers are it made how to approach each situation very helpful!! Your not alone where i live there's a program called parentscan where they teach u different ways of helping your child
I’m a pre k teacher and I’ve studied early childhood development, I think it’s amazing you’re taking him to speech therapy! Also what you’re doing when he throws fits and you ignore it- that’s also amazing! It’s something I do in my classroom, because at the end of the day, they do it for attention and even if the attention is negative to tell them no and to stop... in their mind it’s still attention and they win. Awesome job, you’re an amazing parent!
Speech therapy is very fun and doesn’t feel like therapy.. I had to do speech therapy for a long time for my speech impediment that came with being Deaf/Hard Of Hearing.
Can’t wait to hear the speech therapy update! I think getting him into occupational therapy around 3/4 would be a good move as well. It would definitely help him learn a little more about how to properly interact with other people his age 😊👍🏼 you’re doing great Jessie!
In Australia we have local community run family centres which provide a whole bunch of different services. We attend a weekly “playgroup” which is held in a kindergarten style room with our 21 month old where there are toys, access to a playground and we all sit around and have morning tea together. Kids of all ages from birth up to school age. They also provide outdoor play equipment in local parks on a weekly basis, and then for a small fee they do special events like teddy bears picnics. This is a great way to meet the kids in your area that your babe might go to school with one day. I hope LA has something similar because it’s been so great for us. 💕
My nephew goes to a school/daycare situation ran by the state. He’s went there since he was a baby and now he’s three and not only does he get to play with kids in a controlled, clean, fun environment, but he also is learning and gaining close friendships and so much more. You could see if they have a program like that near you.
