Great reaction. 'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard. It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni 👹(a sort of Japanese ogre popular in regional festivals and used specifically to frighten children ... which amuses me probably more than it should). The growling vocals (they are on a backing track) are the Oni👹 asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃♀🏃♀🏃♀👹 This was a compilation video with clips from 10 different concerts from 2013 through to 2017. At least some of the audio was from Wembley in London 2016. The Kami Band (all male) are the instrumentalists supporting BABYMETAL - in this they were just doing one of their intros - its only fair they get their chance to show off during the shows and there are two or three other songs where they would do an instrumental intro like this. In order of solos in this video they were - Mikio Fujioka (RIP January 2018), Takayoshi Ohmura, BOH on the bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. You have heard 'Headbanger' already, but that was the official video, you could see what they do when they play it live with the Legend 1997 live 'Headbanger' from December 2013 (Legend 1997 was the concert for Su-metal's 16th birthday) ... you can find that on Gans Tomas or abr metal channels and either is safe for a reaction. Alternatively another song - maybe 'Megitsune' live at Budokan Black Night which is also safe to use.
Great reaction! I live in Tennessee too and I just discovered Babymetal about a month ago and now I can't stop listening to them! I'm going to see them live in Nashville this year. For your next babymetal reaction I recommend 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere 2014.' As for a completely new artist to react to I HIGHLY recommend 'Buckethead - One of the best most emotional versions of Soothsayer Live.' Both are amazing live performances. Cheers!
CMIYC is one of the classic songs from the "kawaii metal" era of Babymetal's youth that they sadly don't play anymore. CMIYC was last performed live in 2017 before Yuimetal's departure from the band. We continue to hope to this day that they will pull it out of mothballs at some point, particularly now that they are a trio again with the addition of Momometal. Babymetal's backing band is called the Kami Band (which means "god" or "spirit" band). In the lore of Babymetal, the Kami band were sent by Kitsune-sama (the Fox God) to assist Babymetal in their mission to save metal from the scourge of pop music. In practice, the Kami band and made up of some of the very best session musicians in Japan. The membership of the Kami band is not fixed, and members appear based on their availability for particular shows or tours. However, there are certain members that appear far more often than others. The regular Kami band members who appear most often are Mikio Fujioka (who did the first solo in this video)(sadly passed away in 2018; RIP Kogami), Takayoshi Ohmura (did the second solo in this video), BOH (bass player in this video), and Hideki Aoyama (drummer in this video). There are also others who have played frequently at big Babymetal shows such as Leda Cygnus and Isao Fujita. From 2019 onwards, Babymetal have also added an additional Kami band made up of American musicians, who play for them on their European and American tours; they are: CJ Masciantonio (guitars), Chris Kelly (guitars), Clint Tustin (bass), and Anthony Barone (drums). It's worth noting that the Kami band do not play on the studio albums, they only appear at live performances.
Catch me if you can is a kids game - a.k.a. hide and seek. I have a hard time seeing current setup with grown up women do it :) They at least have to change the choreography a lot.
Super reaction, the KamiBand is very talented and when teamed with the Three is quite the show and many (including me) think are much better live. Their live song 'Road of Resistance' has one of the best crowd/audience interactions of all time. 🤘🦊🤘
Oh I'm so late for this, but is all good, i saw Grington300 sharing great info as always. Either way i will left another suggestion where to get original clips safe to react instead of these unnecessary live compilations. See you next time and keep enjoying your BM journey.🦊🤘🔥
We know Amuse is very hard to deal with copyright blocked issues, fortunately we got a way to go around with "Babymetal Reactor Resource" YT place, you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them. You'll find some watermarked clips in the channel also with the description and where to get the non-logo version. If you want you can watch the original clean version and pause whenever you like to say your comment and after that you can put a logo provided in the same place so you can enjoy a clean version from the beginning. You can also put some heavy opacity and translucent effect to avoid those issues if necessary. However there are some safe clips to react like those from Legend 1997 or some of Budokan 2014 or previous to this year and Festivals that is out of reach from Amuse hands. By all means AVOID live compilations at least for first time watching, not saying all of them are bad but chances are you'll end up facing the bad ones bad edited, very confusing, switching costumes and distracting you from the performance and meaning of the song. Also avoid Glastonbury Festival performance, the sound is bad and the crowd isn't the usual fans. Here's some examples of safe to react live performances: - "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" live at Legend 1997 (2013, you can find this a "Gans Tomas" channel or "abr metal") or live at Legend I (2012). - "Rondo Of Nightmare" with Mischiefs Of Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, this one normally is safe to react without any filters. ("Kawaii Metal" channel got this) - "Catch Me If You Can", you got live at Budokan 2014 with subtitles version at GuilhermeCait channel or live at MetroRock 2015 in Babymetal Reactor Resource channel under the title "CMIYC". - "Ijime Dame Zettai" live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 (lately hasn't been so safe, so careful) - "Karate" live at Download Festival 2016 ("kitsune6001" channel got this one) - Distortion, live at Download Festival 2018 or Rock Am Ring 2018, official channel got the Download version and is safe to react. If you follow this step by step you won't have blocked issues the majority of times, but sometimes there has been issues with certain songs so if you got those try to put opacity, blur or translucent effect, that might help a little bit. Thanks for sharing your BabyMetal reactions and reading this humble recommendation. 🦊🤘
Great reaction friends 🤘🦊🤘. This very video was my first experience of Babymetal a few years ago. I've been hooked ever since. Best wishes from your brothers and sisters here in New Zealand 🇳🇿 Stay safe friends and rock on🤘✌
Next reaction (VOB) "KILLING IN THE NAME RATM cover (VOB) Band Rock 3 HIJABERS 🇮🇩 consert LIVE AT FRANCE TRANS MUSICALES IN RENNES 2021& VOB LIVE at WACKEN FESTIVAL (GERMAIN)2022👍
It's a pity you reacted to a compilation video. Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. Watching a BABYMETAL compilation video is like eating prime rib after somebody else chewed it. You didn't react to BABYMETAL, you reacted to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL. Now that I got that off my chest, allow me to recommend what I consider BABYMETAL's top twenty songs: By album) 1. BABYMETAL Death (the “Legend 1997” version is a MUST!) 2. Megitsune (the MV is phenomenal!) 3. Gimme Chocolate!! (the official MV) 4. Iine! (pronounced "E-nay; the MV is a MUST!) 5. Doki Doki Morning (their very first MV) 6. Onedari Daisakusen (a Black BABYMETAL song; the “Legend 1997” is, IMO, the best version) 7. Song 4 No Uta (another BBM song; live at Budokan Black Night version) 8. Uki Uki * Midnight (the “Legend 1999” version) 9. Catch Me If You Can (“Budokan Black Night” (with Kami Band intro) version) 10. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! (the “Legend 1997” version) 11. Ijime, Dame, Zettai (“Budokan Black Night” version) ----- 12. Road of Resistance (the official MV) 13. Karate (the MV is a MUST!) 14. Meta Taro (the “Five Fox Festival” version) 15. GJ! (BBM) (the “Fox Festival 2017” version) 16. Sis Anger (BBM) (see the version by RU-vidr Zykkwolf) 17. From Dusk Till Dawn (see the 4:06 long version by RU-vidr Andy Rethmeier) ----- 18. Shanti Shanti Shanti (the official MV) 19. Pa Pa Ya!! (the official MV) 20. BxMxC (the MV is a must) Be advised that this list is NOT from best to worst; they are listed in order of appearance on each of their first three albums ("BABYMETAL", "Metal Resistance", and "Metal Galaxy"). I would further recommend that for the live versions of the first album (except where otherwise noted), you'll want to watch "LIve Legend 1997 Apocalypse" concert ( ru-vid.com/group/PLdBAj9hZ91wCao72oSqTMLrGpIDOqzR2Q ). I think it would be interesting if you reacted to the entire Legend 1997 concert! And as you pointed out, BABYMETAL made heavy metal fun! BABYMETAL recently released their fourth album “The Other One”. I would strongly recommend that you react to their earlier work before delving into this last album: in my opinion, the contrast is striking. KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘
Thank you so much for this information. These grandparents didn't know about the compilation aspect, and we appreciate viewers like you who help us learn. I am adding your suggestions to our list.
@@grandparentsreact You're welcome. 🙂 Typically, compilation videos either say so in their title and/or in the video description. Also, I just finished compiling my BABYMETAL top twenty in a RU-vid file ( ru-vid.com/group/PLdhz2aj0pt4zPl0BZLevPUR9uHKQA27uj ) if it would be of any help although I can't guarantee that any of the videos would be exempt from being blocked. However, it seems to me that some of that can be averted by pausing from time to time then rewinding a second or two before resuming. KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘
