I've seen BABYMETAL twice in concert, first in Orlando, VIP seats in balcony stage right, the balcony shook, and I saw them again in Stockholm, in a small venue, was at the barrier, stage right, when they played O'Majinai, again, the floor shook, made eye contact with Su and Moa several times, I was moved to tears on several occasions, I'm 61 years old and not easily influenced, says a lot about their music, if you ever get the chance, see them. BTW, I booked my first vacation to Japan in Oct, to coincide with the date of their 10th anniversary, hoping to see the in a yet to be announced special concert...
It says a lot about BABYMETAL that even though the audience is completely drenched by all that rain and quite uncomfortable, BABYMETAL can still fire them up so much that they forget all of that and just rejoice in the music, movement and unity with BABYMETAL.
tbf us brits are quite used to being drenched by rain and prob not that uncomfortable. i wasn't at that show, but ive played football, watched shows, raved etc all in the rain. but yeah, your overall point stands!
Love it when Su holds that note at 6:29...and hangs onto it until 6:38. Our Queen for good reason! Going to see them in my home town of Cardiff, Wales, UK in 11 days and am as excited about it as I was seeing Sabbath live way way back in 1976! Great reactions as ever! PS Love that, at 4:56, Su tells the crowd "Let me hear your voice" and actually cares enough about what she's saying to her loyal subjects...I mean fans...that she actually removes her earpiece so she can hear them. Your smiles at that point and your Fox God signs tell me all I need to know about how much you've grown to love Babymetal on your journey down the Fox Hole. Welcome to The One! This concert was at Download, one of our biggest Metal festivals here in the UK and that year, cos of the rain, it was called Drownload! Bit confused as you don't seem to have any other Babymetal reaction videos but I know you have reacted to them before. Not sure what you've seen but I have to recommend a few live performances to you - HEADBANGER : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YjjWZpf_jSs.html and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (with subtitles) : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ng8U_j0gpLI.html . Oh, and their first UK appearance in front of 65,000 Metal fans who'd barely heard of them and were waiting for Metallica when 3 girls aged 16 and 15 strode out on the stage and won many Metal hearts: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ro-_cbfdrYE.html (IJIME, DAME, ZETTAI - Bullying, No More, Forever - the best Metal song about stopping bullying ever!). Look forward to more Babymetal reactions
@@shaunsmith7651 the note she held was definitely special considering how many songs they performed and all the jumping and dancing they do. you try and hold that note after doing all that choreo and singing such a high song basically by yourself lol
Please listen to more BABYMETAL!!!!! i recommand ijime dame zettai at sonisphere 2014 and rondo of nightmare with mischiefs of god intro at budokan 2014. BTW their new album mix all kinds of genres with metal its really interesting to listen as an experience and has some amazing songs... I really liked PA PA YA, DA DA DANCE, arkadia, BxMxC.. Thx!!!!
well i think they are definitely metal but i cant decide if i love them or hate them. Their songs usually make me cringe and throw up a little half of the song and the other half makes me cry and really touch my soul.
Yeah finally Babymetal - every song another style- dig 'em guys!!! (if ya want a ballad to cry along, Babymetal-No Rain No Rainbow. Su is awesome there!)
Thank you for the nice reaction with wide musical perspective. Babymetal's magic is it's so happy and good music that it can move people's mind, sometimes bringing tears into your eyes. I hope you do more babymetal reactions. As you may know, the company has over-strict copyright policy, so many good reactions videos have been struck out. I hope this one stays long, and in case it's stuck out, do not get upset too much.
METAL ALLEGIANCE - We Rock (A Ronnie James Dio Tribute) With the line-up: (Vocals: Mark Osegueda, Chris Jericho, Tim "Ripper" Owens, Alissa White-Gluz, Chuck Billy & Steve “Zetro” Souza Lead & Rhythm Guitars: Alex Skolnick Bass: David Ellefson Drums: Mike Portnoy Additional Lead Guitar: Andreas Kisser, Phil Demmel & Gary Holt)
Keep in mind Su was 18 years old at the time of this show and 17 for Road of Resistance video, and already has this stage presence. I would love to see Kel's reaction to Doki Doki Morning and Rich's reaction to HEADBANGER live.
So glad to see you managed to bring this back! Thanks for putting up with the copyright hassles, I know that part sucks to deal with. I understand why 14+ Only, but I can't help but be tickled by that because it means that Su, Yui and Moa would have been excluded at the time BabyMetal started in 2010 (at which time, Suzuka was less than a handful of months from her 13th birthday, while Yui and Moa had recently turned 11). :D
Great reaction! (Finally!) Thank you! I'd like to suggest you more BABYMETAL songs: Megitsune (official music video), Akatsuki (Live at Budokan Black Night), BABYMETAL Death (Legend 1997). Cheers!
I saw Babymetal live yesterday here in The Netherlands and they were great! You are right about the performance, it's a complete show which makes it a lot of fun to watch and participate in! Too bad the this is in daylight, you should watch a live clip of them in a dark venue 🦊
Girls that are 16 -15 have crowd of 30000+ in palm of hand ON rain and not to mention that they are singing on Japanese in middle of England and crowd loves them. No wonder they are around top musicans in the world and I think they had been on top of the charts in UK
No need to feel guilty about Babymetal. I'm 58 and have been a Metal and Rock fan since I saw Sabbath live in 1976. In 11 days, I'm going to see Babymetal in concert and as am excited about it as I was seeing Sabbath back then or even when I saw Zeppelin in 79.
@@tonygriffin_ I know of course. i guess ur as excited to see them as i am looking forward to seeing nightwish with the amazing floor jansen this summer...
Just found your channel and you have GOT to do a reaction video to their song BxMxC from their latest album. IT. IS. INCREDIBLE. and SO different from what you have seen so far! You guys are awesome!
I was there for this show. There was an insane rainstorm just before they came onstage. 140 swimmingpools worth of water fell on the Download festival site in approx 20 minutes. Turned the site into an absolute mudbath for the rest of the festival.
I would love to hear what you both make of 'Rondo of Nightmare' (live in Japan) with THE most excellent Instrumental piece before - 'Mischief of Gods!' I went to see them in London afew weeks ago - very emotional!
Hi, like myself, I've seen that you both like Jethro Tull. Check out the 'Fat Man Live video' during a performance in 1983 Munich - Ian's flute playing on that show is some of the best I've ever seen! 'I rrrrrecoginse you!' :)
I hope you two will check out their song "Megitsune" (pronounced Me-gi-tsu-ne), it's awesome. Make sure it's live though, I heard the music video can lead to strikes. They have a song called "iine!" that does 3 music genres in 1 song, it's crazy!
Other countries know how to do metal festivals. Wacken, Download, etc. I would love to be a part of those crowds. It's a dream of mine to attend Wacken some year, and I've never been out of the states before.
You should do a reaction to the song WE ROCK by the supergroup METAL ALLEGIANCE It has a definite classic metal sound to it that I hope you will enjoy It features vocals by Tim 'Ripper' Owens(Judias Priest/Iced Earth), Steve Souza(Exodus/Testament), Chuck Billy(Testament), Alissa White-Gluz(The Agonist/Arch Enemy), Chris Jericho(Fozzy/Pro Wrestling) and Mark Osegueda(Death Angel) - while the music is provided by Mike Portnoy(Dream Theater), David Ellefson(Mega Death), Alex Skolnick(Testament), Andreas Kisser(Sepultura), Phil Demmel(Machine Head) and Gary Holt(Exodus/Slayer). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xjxpMCiUI7Q.html
This band is great. If you would like somthing different have a look at the HU band Wolf Totem official music video right up my street. You will love it.
We did a few reactions to them but they are immediately blocked and a cease and desist letter was sent to us so we had to abide. They are completely off-limits for first reactions from RICO management.
Story about the Fox Sign. When they were starting out they were shown footage of Ronnie James Dio doing the horns, and they thought it was a fox head, and started doing shadow puppet foxes on the walls. And no one corrected them, and the Fox God was born.
It still amazes me how the girls are able to sing so well while dancing and generally running around. I don’t sing, it would scare away coyotes, but I can attest to how difficult it is to even talk while working out.
@@Kel.N.RichReactions Have you considered doing another Babymetal reaction ? I guess it was removed because of copyright issues or something, so I can fully understand you wouldn't want to deal with it. If it was, it's actually strange you had these issues with this video though, it's not what usually happens.
There's nothing as cute and as viscous as a 12 year girl (they can get a friend to commit suicide with a mean tweet). A marketer's dream, the backing band can be replaced at will, and the girls can too when they age out. Just as KISS is now Paul and Gene and two randos off the street, just keep the make-up on. First artist contracts are so stacked against them, so instead of having to pay them fairly like what happened to the spice girls, they simply insert new cheap blood like Menudo. Unless one of the backing band has songwriting credit, none of the people on stage is making a fraction of their gate receipts, merchandising tie-ins, etc. The future of corporate rock.
And yet Babymetal had the same line up from 2010 until 2018 when Yui left the band through ill health - and she hadn't been on stage for 12 months before that while they were holding her spot in the hope and expectation that she would recover. So when Yui left they simply replaced her according to your theory ... oh, that didn't happen. No casting aside for "new cheap blood" just to keep the image. Instead Su and Moa decided they wanted to continue as a duo. Maybe it's because, unlike the marketer's dream of interchangeable people who can be replaced, Babymetal was formed, developed and evolved entirely around the talent of the girls concerned, especially Su. Without her voice and talents Babymetal wouldn't have happened and ceases to exist. This is not your typical Idol group where your "new cheap blood" might be brought in willy nilly and there is no ageing out. Babymetal started as a sub-unit of an Idol group for girls aged 10 to 15 because Su's talents and potential for fronting a metal band were recognised by their producer. This wasn't a corporate money grabbing project dreamed up by suits in a boardroom where they had the idea then slotted people in to look pretty and perform. In 2013 when Su was 15 and graduated Babymetal went with her to become an independent band in their own right. They are no longer a part of the Idol system that you so despise (I know very little about Idol to know whether you are right or wrong, so if you do reply please don't quote names and examples at me as I'll have never heard of any of them). Meanwhile the backing band have had the same hard core of members, rotating in accordance with their own responsibilities, projects and bands, since 2013 as well. Only last year, when Babymetal did their longest ever foreign tour, were new musicians brought in because the regulars all had other projects on and couldn't have committed to the whole tour. Once back in Japan the original backing band were right back where they belonged.
Unfortunately in every live performance I have seen of them they have always had the music overpowering the girls singing. The Official video has a lot better sound quality and you can actually hear them sing. The bald guitarist is a great performer and player.
