Babymetal are normally a heavy metal band. This song is very different from what they typically do. If you want to see what they normally do, check out ‘Megitsune’, ‘Karate’, ‘Headbanger’, or ‘Road of Resistance’.

Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 They started as a fusion of Metal with JPop aesthetics ... they have expanded their repertoire in the 12 years since then, so now they will mix all sorts of musical styles and genres with the metal. It is possible you were told they rap ... they rapped in their song 'BxMxC' (ignore the x's, they are just punctuation) - a live version of that would make for an interesting reaction - but not yet, please follow some of the other suggestions for songs that you have already been given in the comments below to get a better idea of what they are all about first ... 'BxMxC' will come as more of a surprise that way as well. This song was a stripped down version of one of the songs they have already released in advance of the album which is coming out on 24th March. The original 'Monochrome' is an equally beautiful song, but has more than just the piano and string backing.

Most people are wrong to say that they are a function of J-pop with metal, they are actually Kawaii-metal. Kawaii translates as cute, tender, pretty, therefore all of that is used on a base of any metal. Running pop, folk, march, ballads, whatever The only thing you can expect... is the unexpected "WELCOME TO FOXHOLE" #notacult

Well, Babymetal themselves call it a fusion of J-pop and metal. The kawaii part is in addition to that. Not every song is kawaii but every song is a fusion of J-pop and metal.

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 I'm glad to see new reactors getting into BM songs, you're arriving to a special era with more mature sound and a BM side we've never seen before. I'm gonna leave another suggestion in my next comment so you can check it out early BM era songs and clips safe to react but meanwhile don't worry about putting some filters in BM new singles, so far no one is reporting copyright blocked issues. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute), mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms, they are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25 *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 23. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After that year you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them sing or have mic, they only dance, but that may change this year since they announced a new official member is coming. Monochrome is the 2nd single released from this new upcoming album called "The Other One" is gonna be released next March 24, you can watch the official lyrics video to know what is about. Here's some official info: _From the eyes of the children, what color were the monochrome fireworks lighting up in the night sky? This song expresses the hopeful wish on Ragnarok, which signifies doomsday in Norse mythology, twinkling across the starry skies in rainbow colors._ Original version is more hard rock ballad style with overprocessed and audio effects, SuMetal vocals are similar to vocaloid style in some parts, but is enjoyable either way with the beautiful message. We're waiting for the live proshot version at Makuhari Messe 2023 performed at the end of January, one of the highlights in the live concerts was this beautiful song, SuMetal made everyone raise their phones to illuminate this dark world. They already have softer version and piano version of certain songs before like "Akatsuki Unfinished Version" and The One - Stairway To Living Legend, i suggest you those after hearing the original version. We know Amuse is very hard to deal with copyright blocked issues, fortunately we got a way to go around with "Babymetal Reactor Resource" YT place, you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them. You'll find some watermarked clips in the channel also with the description and where to get the non-logo version. If you want you can watch the original clean version and pause whenever you like to say your comment and after that you can put a logo provided in the same place so you can enjoy a clean version from the beginning. You can also put some heavy opacity and translucent effect to avoid those issues if necessary. However there are some safe clips to react like those from Legend 1997 or some of Budokan 2014 or previous to this year and Festivals that is out of reach from Amuse hands. By all means AVOID live compilations at least for first time watching, not saying all of them are bad but chances are you'll end up facing the bad ones bad edited, very confusing, switching costumes and distracting you from the performance and meaning of the song. Also avoid Glastonbury Festival performance, the sound is bad and the crowd isn't the usual fans. Here's some examples of safe to react live performances: - "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" live at Legend 1997 (2013, you can find this a "Gans Tomas" channel or "abr metal") or live at Legend I (2012). - "Rondo Of Nightmare" with Mischiefs Of Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, this one normally is safe to react without any filters. ("Kawaii Metal" channel got this) - "Catch Me If You Can", you got live at Budokan 2014 with subtitles version at GuilhermeCait channel or live at MetroRock 2015 in Babymetal Reactor Resource channel under the title "CMIYC". - "Ijime Dame Zettai" live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 (lately hasn't been so safe, so careful) - "Karate" live at Download Festival 2016 ("kitsune6001" channel got this one) - Distortion, live at Download Festival 2018 or Rock Am Ring 2018, official channel got the Download version and is safe to react. If you follow this step by step you won't have blocked issues the majority of times, but sometimes there has been issues with certain songs so if you got those try to put opacity, blur or translucent effect, that might help a little bit. Heavy metal - their forte (for example - Road of Resistance LIVE IN Japan, Headbanger LIVE, Megitsune LIVE and si many more) Jpop - Brand New Day LIVE Rock - Kagerou LIVE with Kami Band intro Pop - Shine LIVE Bollywood - Shanti Shanti Shanti LIVE Latin fusion - Night Night Burn LIVE LIVE is where it’s at with BabyMetal so react to LIVE when possible. It's ok to be confused..they have songs across pretty much ALL genres and styles. No 2 songs are alike. You probably have heard BxMxC which is a metal/rap song. Whether you enjoy the rest of their music or not hope you have fun in the experience.

Good reaction. This performance came as a surprise to everyone. The original version of this song is metal. It was released as a single on November 18, 2022 to promote Babymetal's upcoming concept album, The Other One (March 24, 2023).
