Much like Akatsuki unfinished version, just stripping everything back and letting Su's amazing voice shine is incredible.

When Su sings this part 3:18, tears come to my eyes. She has a beautiful and powerful voice

I'm glad you liked this one more than the original. We've all been really excited about this since it was announced yesterday. And it is not an easy feat, The First Take is an enormous channel that mostly brings Sony artists from the mainstream acts in Japan. To have a Heavy Metal band from a non Sony company, it was nearly impossible. And Su does not fail to deliver, the emotion she puts in her singing has always been her strongest weapon. Oh and we see Koba keeps teasing a third girl in there xD

Monochrome is one of the best Babymetal songs and it's nice to see Babymetal be recognized in Japan.

That's even better than the "normal" version. They are such great singers. Su's ability to put emotion into her singing got so much better over the years (though i stll love them more when they are "smoll" haha)

What is THE FIRST TAKE? THE FIRST TAKE is a one-shot performance with minimal background music. There are no reshoots. THE FIRST TAKE has been performed by various artists in the past. Finally, BABYMETAL will appear on stage. The three girls in the chorus wearing white capes in the middle of the performance reminded me of the white costumes that BABYMETAL wore only once when they debuted. The back view of those 3 girls... Makes me cry 😭.

Well as the saying goes don't judge a book by it's cover!! Well Babymetal has redefined that many times over!! This puts it into some pretty clear perspective now however. These ladies are as professional as they come. To come this far in light of all the backlash over the years. Speaks to a drive and commitment to your craft as naysayers be dammed!! To think their first performance as Babymetal was at 12. Speaks volumes now as have really come full circle some 13 years later. Definitely all in now & looking foward to what they have planned next! :)

I can’t really pick from this version to the original. But you know what I’d love to see this version played live in concert. The lyrics. The messaging. Su & Moa’s vocals. It just so meaningful & beautiful.

So apparently Monochrome was actually recorded 5 years ago. Crazy if true. Also along with a lot of other songs ready to go. Again crazy if true as why wait so long between album drops if they have so much material. Would love to know if this is true.

It was nice seeing you enjoy this one eventhough you really didn't feel the normal version of the song. Su absolutely killed it and ofcourse Moa was fantastic aswell.

Soooo much better than the other version with the corny guitar riff, wish this version was on the album instead. Her voice is incredible, give me goose bumps

Nice reaction. I agree that's why Babymetal is Babymetal. Su-metal showing once again why her name keeps coming up in top metal singers list. Her ability to sing with power and emotion is amazing. Moa is sounding more like her every day. They're vocal compatibility is a big part of why they're in Babymetal together. Kobe wanted Moa in Babymetal for that reason and she can dance. Now the two are almost inseparable. The holding hands scene harkens back to the Shine performance to me. Moa said after the Legend M show. When they performed that as a duo, it was like they were so connected it felt like they were holding hands the whole performance. Kawaii. For one of Babymetals early performances they wore white robe outfits. The clips in this video reminds me of that. Is the new member in this video or is that just a stand in? During the last tour with the avengers. You could see when they would take a break. Su or Moa would reach over to the avenger and seem to ask if they're ok or ready. Sometimes to say you got this. Supporting the avenger support. Kawaii metal indeed.

Love the format of this show (though not so keen on the artists - until now!) and would love to see every major band accept the One Take challenge. Queen Su showed so much emotion singing this but then anything to do with memorialising those who died in the destruction of Hiroshima in 1945 is important to her for various reasons. Loved Moa's backing vocals too. 🦊🤘🤘🦊

Yep definitely way better than the original. At least here you can hear her voice, it lets her shine. It doesn't try to compete with her, it enlightens her. I don't know what happens, but while I like Babymetal (not a fan per say, but I usually like them) their recent recordings are not pleasing to me. Songs are fine and all. It's really the balance of the recording that I find painful.

It may be Su and Moa, but this isn't Baby Metal.... More metal please.....

I absolutely love BABYMETAL and Su and Moa are so amazing. I just wish they could have been more relaxed and out of character for this. Like LiSa was in some of hers. I think all of LiSa's were perfect. Obviously the girls are very talented and sounded so beautiful, but I wanted to see them have a little more fun. See them smile and giggle before or after. I just felt like they were told to stand their stiff as a board. Remain in character. I still loved it overall. but seeing serious Su-Metal and Moametal then cute relaxed Suzuka Nakamoto and Moa Kikuchi would have made it better. The 3 girls in white was mysterious. BABYMETAL always keeping us guessing. 🤘🦊🤘
