Performed in the Cathedral of "Notre Dame de Paris", with Ensensemble Orchestral de Paris. Conductor : John Nelson. Choir master : Nicole Corti. Soloists : Ruth Ziesak, Joyce DiDonato, Paul Agnew, Daniel Taylor and Dietrich Henschel.
I'm sure Bach had Mr Taylor in mind when he revise this piece from "Ach, Bleibe Doch, mein liebstes Leben". This is a performance to go back to and watch it again and again. It never fails, it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. Thank you
I go to his students' choir at UofT performances and hear him speaking often. He has pretty normal speaking voice, not too high or too low. The countertenors are usually baritones for their chest voice and speaking voice. He will sing this particular part next Sat. in Toronto and Sunday in Ottawa. I really adore him.
You are most welcome ! I am so happy to see someone listening this song, which is one of my favourites from one of my favourite composers. This recording is indeed the same of the old video. I had downloaded it and when I found the old one missing, I felt compelled to upload it myself. It also happens to be my first and only upload. I also happen to have the entire recording of the B minor mass, would you like me to upload it entirely ? I thank you for listening. I am truly delighted.
The first violin: would you marry me? Being serious, beautiful music, beautiful art, beautiful musician, graet director, nice countertenor voice. Of course, the lyryc is the best of all of this. However such pure beauty only can comes from the "Agnus". Glory to Him.
Great and amazing! Thanks for posting. Daniel Taylor sounds even more impressive live with his soaring voice which modern technology can't absolutely catch yet in recordings.
a wonderful performance of Agnus Dei by Daniel Taylor who shine every time he take part in this beautiful performance of the Mass in B minor - Notre Dame de Paris by John Nelson Soprano: Ruth Ziesak Mezzo-soprano: Joyce DiDdonato Alto: Daniel Taylor Tenor: Paul Agnew Baritone: Dietrich Henschel Ensemble Orchestral de Paris
It is no trouble to share great art. But please be patient for a week, though I will try to upload it as soon as possible. I am really thrilled talk with someone who appreciates a piece of music which I adore myself. It is a rare occasion. I am no authority on performances either, but I too found this recording excellent,. And I didn't know the name of the soprano ! So glad to know that he is Mr. Tyler.
It’s such a great video! May I repost your channel to the platform named Gan Jing World which is full of clean and valuable videos? I will keep your videos as is for sure. Thank you!
I'd like to know if I could listen to more songs like this one( unique vocal + orchestra). I am kind of new to classical music, but I must say, this type of music is just absolutely mesmerizing. If someone could help me I would be extremely gratefull!:D
Our aural skills teacher gave us this (the opening volin line) for the Sight singing final exam. I totally love this piece. By the way... 0:06 Britney Spears, is that you?
Hello! Do you know if this exact recording was ever released on CD or DVD? I would LOVE to get this same exact version in my library... this is a particularly exceptional version. Thank you!!!
