I flew SQ21 from Newark to Singapore sept 2022, and returned SQ22. I already have this same flight for 3 of my flights this year. The price is stiff, but honestly not nearly as bad as competitors that don’t offer a nonstop ie United business class is basically double, but well worth it. I won’t go to Southeast Asia any other way. Cabin crew is amazing.

If your final destination is MNL from EWR/JFK both SQ 25 (8:55-9:00 pm JFK) & 23 (10:30 PM JFK) with the MNL connecting flight SQ910 (1:05 pm arrival) and SQ21 (9:00 AM EWR) with SQ918 to Manila (11:00 PM arrival) beats PR127 JFK-MNL. Which is why you have MNL and CEB-bound passengers on SQ25 JFK-SIN via FRA. Latter one is on B737 Max 8 SQ906. Have you tried SQ B737 Max 8 or not? That way you can compare it to UA B737 Max 8 same way as CX A321neo gets compared to AA A321neo and B737 Max 8.
