Great vid chloe the one I drive has rear lift axle and separate drive axle but sadly not a volvo it's a daf lol. Get my brand new truck on Monday morning hopefully. Look forward to the next one
Hooray, dvla finally got your tacho card sorted😊 my training and test are getting closer now, I also need to renew my licence which I will do at the Post office in Somerton, and apply for my tacho card! Got 14 more hours of cpc to do on zoom and that will be sorted. That last bin, the 12 yarder, reminded me of ASD Parkin's banding skip and how awkward that was to get on the lorry with a fixed top bar between the arms😳 glad I didn't have to do that one with an agency driver!
Yes so happy 😀 that’s great you really haven’t got long to go now 😊 I was out last week training and I went to emr chard to tip 😊 yes that last bin was a funny shape! Can imagine very awkward with a top bar!
@@SkipChickSW did you see a skip lorry with a Chard telephone number on the doors by any chance? When I left it was a 53 plate Volvo, doubt if anyone that I worked with is still there now
No all the skip lorries were out when we arrived, other than some of there artics where there, smart little yard thought. First time I’ve actually been in there 😊
@@SkipChickSW they are actually advertising for a skip lorry driver on indeed! It would have to be before my training and test wouldn't it! Hope area management are better than some of the reviews I have just read though😳
Hola saludos desde chile amiga sur america yo manejo un camion volkswagen con un equipo skip al igual que tu me encanto mirar el video espero que subas mas cuidate amiga
A lot of people think driving a skip waggon easy They are not Any Skip driver will tell you a good skip driver worth there weight in gold. we have all knocked walls down we all have chains slip off the skips we had we had the bottom of the skip fell out and Rubbish as fell all on the drive way we had the drive ways sink in the ground. you name a skip driver had it. They should be train up before they go out on the road Iv always said this.. Some skip drivers will tell you you not a skip driver until you knock a wall down. id done it a few time lifting skips over the wall. This girls doing well as a skip driver id say and thank you for this video
@@SkipChickSW that right you got to add mit in not easy untill you get in and do it. Alot of drivrs as said nothing to it lefting skip up until they try do it then a car got a dent in the wing or the skip come off the back of the skip waggon because lifted a skip out of another skip on the waggon and did not lift the hoocks or put the chain on the empty skip. And slip off the waggon going up a hill on bumpy road. I could wrihht a book on the things iv seen and done. And bet you can as well. Thank you for your video and hope to see you training other they all great videos
I enjoy watching this channel but I have a question. I'm a Londoner and I only ever see four wheeled skip lorries on the road (I see at least a dozen every weekday) and they normally carry the full range of skips - how come you have chosen a six wheeled wagon?
Thankyou glad you enjoy it.. so we have two at the depot that are used for distance work mainly, if we have two inert skips with the wag and drag then there is no worry over weights. As well they are stronger at full reach. Also we have had many times skips that are to heavy for the 4 wheelers but my truck can pick up with ease. Hope that helps 😊
To start with I did but you get a bit thick skinned as there isn’t anything you can do about it , and certainly don’t let it make you rush! People have to wait 😊
