Yes, that's right! Homemade! You wouldn't believe how easy this recipe is and I was so happy with the outcome. I've even timed myself 18 minutes to stay within the guidelines of keeping the matzah kosher for Passover.
Whether you're celebrating Passover or not, this cracker is delicious and can be enjoyed with any savoury or sweet topping. Don't forget to tag me in your creations @georgiascakes!
Enjoy! x

I made this easy recipe and it came out great! I added some cumin seeds and let mine stand for 30 min so that the dough can relax and not pull back on itself, seeing that im not really worried about it being kosher. I loved it so much im making it a second time. Thanks for a great, easy and tasty recipe!

@@the.judean How come? Is there something wrong with the recipe?
@the.judean
@the.judean 2 года назад
@@thefandomartist6453 From the moment the water touched the flour there are only 18 Minutes within the matzah has to be baked completely dry. Every grain in contact with water over 18 Minutes is considered as chametz. For this there is also a certain maximum thickness for matzot and so on. As I also mentioned the Torah finds hard words for Chametz during Pesach (Ex 12:15 & 19). Sorry if you felt attacked by "please don't". That wasn't my intention.
@thefandomartist6453
@thefandomartist6453 2 года назад
No I didn't feel attacked at all! Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I had no idea, and am still learning everyday. I observe Torah and I'm looking for second coming, passover isnt commanded but we are to observe it. I was going to make this bread or a type of Challah bread, maybe rolls to enjoy with family and friends before passover begins due to it being leavened. God bless you and thank you for educating me!

@@the.judean aren't we supposed to eat lamb and unleavened bread the night of Passover? Burn it in the morning if it isn't all eaten?

It’s 18 minutes when you have stopped working with it. As long as you are working with it , you don’t have to start the timer. This is according to sources in the Gemara

When you have store-bought Matzah, you'll notice that while it is certainly flat (and usually square in appearance) there are also small ridges and rows from one end to the other. Also, there are small holes, similar to the ones that our illustrious chef placed on the dough with her fork. What she failed to mention and what many people overlook is the symbolic significance of Matzah beyond that of the unleavened bread that was baked in haste as the Jews left the bondage of Egypt for the Promised Land. The Matzah also represents the

She obviously wasn't cooking for Passover, as she mentioned that it would require a Rabbi to monitor, as well as the time limit for her 2nd batch. That's why she added olive oil, because she just wants to enjoy eating them.

You can use this recipe during the whole year. But please don't bake your own Matzah for Passover! It doesn't matter how fast and exact you're working, the risk of producing chametz is tremendous. And having chametz at home during pesach is a sin which requires the punishment of caret according to the torah, cutting up your soul from Existence. Exodus 12:15 and 19

No my dear. Passover celebrates the Israelites leaving Egypt. Judah was but 1 of the 12 tribes. The name "jew" Didn't come along for nearly a 1000 years later. It's an Israelite story. Not a jewish one. The 18 minute theory is a theory from the talmud, not the torah. The torah says not to add or take away from it. Adding an 18 minute rule is violating the torah.
