Jo, I really enjoyed your " back of basics" tutorial even thought I have been stamping about 30 years. This was a wonderful reminder to get back to basics and simplify our stamping at times. I always enjoy your tutorials as I have learned some new tips, how to best use my supplies and stamps and your wonderful personality. Thank you for explaining what a "cheeky biscuit" is as I love that term and it always makes me smile. I am new to Lavinia stamps and have really enjoyed all the "eye candy" the team provides for us!
Thank you so much. I am new to Lavinia stamps and I am so happy that I found you. I have been fortunate and have purchased many stamps and I just love your ideas! Wonderful of you to remember those who cannot afford many craft items. Back to basics is great! Thank you again and have a great day! 😊
Thanks for your comment June and I am so pleased that you like these little catch up videos. I hope you have lots of fun creating with your stamps. lol the best xx
It's a toss up as to whether I watch your videos for your display of talent or your delivery of "self". The kindness you exude with your sweet voice and demeanor brings me so much Joy. You are LOVED by many. xoxox (ps - I think you are very funny, too!)
So pleased that I found this video today. Although I have experience in other areas of crafting this type of crafting is pretty new to me. I’m receiving my first Lavinia shipment soon and this is a great help! So much fun!
Those are all lovely Jo... I love the forest scene and the Chinese lanterns with the verse across the middle... I love all of them but those two in particular... :)
Thank you so much Jo, I really really love ❤️ this. And I really really enjoyed watching you create these card fronts. And I really really love ❤️ your kindness and caring attitude...I’ve been binge watching Tracey Evans, the designer of some of the stamps we use. Like you she is fantastic too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Am so enjoying your videos. I've been stamping for many years but your teaching skills are so appreciated. So many wonderful tips in each video. THANK YOU!!!
Great advice Jo, beautiful cards. There is so much around, it can be a bit overwhelming at the beginning, I wish I'd stumbled upon Lavinia sooner, as I've bought things I haven't used, as I just couldn't get my head around it. ❤️
I'm so grateful you have done this video. I've already purchased a bunch of your products because they are so lovely. But they aren't getting the use I thought they would because I honestly don't feel skilled enough for some of your more complicated backgrounds yet. Foundational videos like this are so helpful I feel like they will give me the confidence to move on to more complicated designing. Thank you!!
Yes, I love your beautiful and cozy videos, when you post I put my boys behind the video games, make myself some coffee and have a moment 😊 You help people more then you know, thank you for sharing 🙏❤
Thank you so much! It’s great when the tutorials go back to basics &/or minimal supplies. I love the way you explained everything & then how to take the cards to the next level. I’m always excited when I see that you have posted a new video. I love our time together ☺️ Take care of yourself
I am just so enjoying this video. I love Lavinia stamps and am going to follow your instructions. I am glad to go back to the basics. Just to make you feel a bit better, the temperature here in Alberta, Canada has been down as far as -40 C in the past few days.
I love having a catch up and a cheeky biscuit with you! I hope you have one too! What size is the card bases? What is your favourite size to work with?
Leanne, lovely to have you crafting along and joining in with a brew and a cheeky biscuit. For smaller designs I like to use this size, it is 14cm x 14cm and fits a 6inch square card blank. For larger designs I do like an 8inch card blank and then I use a base card of 18cm x 18cm xxxx
Wonderful .. So is this person you talk about in the UK or U.S.? I'm in the U.S and would love to maybe help this person out .. I have so so much I don't use . Lmk thanks
Beautiful cards Jo, and we all need to go back to basics from time to time so it's just perfect, it's amazing what you can do when you challenge yourself to use just 2 colours. Thank you x
Hi Jo. Just getting a bit better after my mom's death almost a month ago. Nice to see your video pop up. Thanks for the video. I love the oxides and Versafine Clair.
I have been a crafter for many years. This was a nice change from over thinking my art. Im now pulling out 2 color combos to play with . Thank you from Maryland U.S.A
Simply stunning. I now have 3 ink pads (another newbie) and a few Lavinia mushrooms and two poppy seed heads - I may not have chosen wisely - but my next stamp purchase will be better informed in order to boost their usefulness. I was given 12 inktense pencils (which are fab to use) and I’m now producing like pieces of art I’m proud of after watching your wonderful videos. I’m so glad I found you 😊
thanks jo i really need to try this bit of advice as i get overwhelmed with too many choices i think i will choose a blue and soft green with the black and pick a butterfly stamp a script stamp and a floral sprig stamp and see what i can do
Really enjoyed this video. Lockdown has dulled the mind and I’ve tried too hard. Simplicity is always best. Your cards are truly lovely. Thank you. I was interested to hear you come to Belfast twice a year. Where do you demonstrate. Love to meet you. X
Thanks Jo...this is a super great beginner tutorial! Your favorite colors are mine too! Such beautiful, simple cards that allow my mind to add to them.
Hi Jo, I have just found you on RU-vid, and I LOVE your projects, I have watched a fair few now. I live in Australia, can I ask where you purchase your stamps from, they are just so lovely, I would love to be able to get some. Take care, sending blessing to you.
Hi Ann, so lovely to meet you, and thanks so much for watching these little videos. These stamps are from Lavinia stamps here in the uk. I will check to see if they have a stockist in Australia. I know we have a few other followers on here from Australia,,,so if any other crafters have any information please add it on here....thanks xxx
Wonderful idea and great results! The woman who requested this "on a budget" suggestion will be so happy! Orange/burnt orange is my favorite color, too.
Hazel , lovely to meet you, when the world is normal I run a workshop in Belfast twice a year....just a thought.... So lovely to have you join our family xx😀
I look at your cards and say, YES that is generally my style. I love all the lovely cards others make too but I just don't seem to be able to come close to them. This I can do.
Just love these. At the moment I feel I could do these. Mojos gone walkabout feeling flat, so will give these a go as they aren’t too involved. Yes back to basics as you said. Thank you Jo. So much.
I would have to have 3 colours red yellow and blue, from there you can mix them to get the secondary colours from them you can make the tertiary colours
