After watching a bunch of videos of "minimalist" people with $80,000 + tiny houses in RV parks, to see these people create a $6,000 home in a really green setting renews my faith that people aren't all crazy after all.

it's funny because people moan at the cost of a house or even building one but then again, those people always live in the city. Generations relied too much on convenience that they forgot how to live without it. Just a bit of manual labor, some realistic savings that you don't have to stress your whole life to achieve and some people game enough to help you see it through to the end. You're good.

My parents have numerous deer, a flock of wild turkeys, a bear or two, ground hogs, raccoons, at least 7 skunks (which my sister fed for awhile. It was interesting because we learned that they have unique markings similar to zebras having different patterns of stripes. And they never sprayed anyone or anything.) along with a variety of snakes and smaller wildlife. They even had a cow in their backyard during their first year living in the house. Most of their property is timber and left alone, but the various wildlife have gone through the front and backyard throughout the seasons. When they had a husky the animals kept out of her area though a few got a little to close and became lunch. Their property borders the city limits and their not out in the country.

Yeah home schooled and no neighbors to interact with, that´s gonna do wonders for their social skills... Don´t get me wrong i love the idea of reconnecting with nature but i don´t know how good is for the kids to spend 100% of their time with their parents
@prepperjonpnw6482
@prepperjonpnw6482 4 года назад
Fer Soken to address your concerns let me say the kids will turn out just fine as long as the parents do their job in educating them. I raised my children in a remote area and homeschooled them until they went to high school and they had no problems at all. Actually they had one problem and that was with their education levels. They were so far ahead of their peers academically that they had to take mainly college prep courses and then graduated early. 2 of my children joined the military and 2 went straight to college on scholarships. All four did great out in the real world. The 2 in the army made rank so fast it was a good thing the army uniforms use Velcro now where the stripes go. The 2 that went straight to college found the course work so easy for them that they started simply challenging each course and getting 100% so they were able to simply skip most of the basic courses that freshmen usually take Also, all 4 had no issues socially. They all made friends easily and still have some of those friends to this day. If done properly raising children in a remote location is actually better than the alternative. Also, by raising our children the way we did my wife was able to be a stay at home mother by choice. She always had the choice and chose to stay home with our children. She did a fantastic job and deserves all the praise for her efforts. I was able to spend more time with my children than most fathers do because my job was flexible. I used to love bringing my kids to work with me lol Hope that answers your question Cheers mate

Love it, so beautiful! Do wild animals ever come into the house? When we built our small off-grid cabin in the mountains we had wonderful wild visitors who didn't hesitate to enter through the open front door (mostly curious skunks). Best of all, a bird built her nest on our inside wall, which allowed us to feel like protective surrogate bird parents - it was so sweet, bittersweet, when the babies all flew out into the world. We adored all of our wild friends💓

Amazing revisit! Wonderful that this family has remained true to their values and beliefs, and continue to evolve and adapt to the challenges. Can't believe the severe winter they experienced, living in New Mexico!! Wonderful!

I love this. I even love that they are on their families land and use their plumbing for baths and washing sometimes. Humans have relied and depended on family and community since we were sitting round fires poking it with a stick. We can be self sustaining in so many ways, but we still need help sometimes. And it’s beautiful that this family has such a great relationship that they live on the same land and share with each other. (Sorry I just saw a bunch of negative comments on how they’re freeloading off the parents, that they are not self sustaining enough, etc and wanted to point out the beauty in that) hope to have a family and community like this someday. ❤️

I grew up camping with my family and spent summers at summer camp. At least a dozen summers as a teen and young adult in a tent. I love it. I miss it. Still want to put a big tent in the back yard - it'll be my happy place.

This tent reminds me of my youth. My family had a get away home in the mts, which happened to b an old army mess tent. We always had so much fun. Took r baths in a small round barrel. Cooked outside on a firepit. Soo much fun.

I have been watching your videos and other channels about tiny homes for quite some time now and I have to say, you are truly the best channel amongst all! I really love how positive you are and the way you showcase all the unique advantages of each space, causing the owners to swell with pride as they take us on a tour. It is truly an inclusive, inspirational way of shining light on creative people's alternative housing solutions that other channels like yours would be wise to study! Thank you so much for your creating!

yah there's something about it....nothing they built was for vanity, like they said it wasn't for "pinterest".....I mean the entire house cost $6,000?! One of my pet peeves is the wannabe hipsters who spend 100k on their tiny home builds.

Absolutely, nature is beautiful in every way, it's only when humans tamper with that it goes wrong. They've engaged with nature & they see its beauty, whereas society slaves driven by the media keep digging bigger holes, & never finding happiness.

You don't actually need a lot of things in life. This is something I would wish to apply in my life. I believe the road to great happiness and living is to become a minimalist and a nature lover. This is really a dream come true for people who wants to live outside the busy, noisy and polluted cities. Thanks for this inspiring video. Hope that I could built my own tiny house in the near future.

They are like the modern Ingalls family. And to think that 150 years ago people lived in houses in the middle of nature, and now people need peace to escape the busy and frentic lives we got in the cities. They make up a very beautiful family.

The first time you visited this home I thought there's no way I could live with my family in that space. It's too tiny and I don't like the layout. BUT this time you've made me wonder... And I think I could. I think it would make us closer to each other, more respectful and loving. And I think that's what makes a book, a movie or a video, a good one: it challenges your beliefs and changes the way you see life. So that was great to watch and experience. Thank you!

This place is WOW! What a gorgeous sanctuary, tucked into the wilderness. Love the open concept into the wild. This is exactly what we are looking for. A property in the wild where we can grow our food forest, but first we are building our skoolie so we can go seek out people who are living in the wild, growing their own food & living minimally. Thanks for sharing your home with us. It is so wonderful you are raising your little guys like this. They must love it! Congrats you two! And thanks Bryce for introducing us to this lovely family. - Erin + Brian
