It's been a few months since my second lung surgery and the healing has gone well. This past weekend, I was able to just waltz into the woods with a chainsaw and harvest some badly needed firewood. It may seem like a non-event but it was a major milestone for me.
Last week, I had my first post surgery follow up CT scan. Because my cancer had metastasized, it has been deemed incurable but with diligent monitoring and timely therapies of different sorts, there is still a good chance that I can maintain good quality of life for a bunch of years yet. But it is still, likely, a one way street. We just don't know how long the street is. In two weeks we have our meeting with the oncologist and hopefully he'll report absolutely nothing. And my peace timer will happily reset to three months.
I feel great. I had a great first term in my life "walking with cancer"!
