Thoroughly missed and, I think, she was under-appreciated because she walked among the 90s supermodels. However, she had a great modeling career and there was no doubt that she was a gem on the runway!
Children today think Giselle is the Queen of the runway. Helena Barquilla was a Thierry Mugler and Jean Paul Gaultier favorite on the runway. Her walk in my opinion is the best of them all. No offense to Naomi, but there were girls that could walk just as good if not better. Helena is one of those girls, and the other is Yasmeen Ghauri. Helena was in high demand and walked for legendary designers/fashion houses like Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent, Katherine Hamnet, Good Oldham, Emporio Armani, Valentino, Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Thierry Mugler.
No runway in the 90’s was complete w/o Helena B. Her exuberance and confidence was affirmation of her craft. This period was when each girl was a singular success made of their own individuality. I always loved seeing her at LaCroix where she was never more glamorous. Helena B. Was bomb!
She was an absolute Queen on the runway, she had everything: charisma, good face, personality, great walk, confidence, rhythm, she was so good ❤️ guapa!!! 🇪🇸
@@hectorcortez8766 y salto la liebre...es y sera una de las mejores, modelando o sea Vasculando sus caderas y caminado con gracia y poderío. De la Escuela 🇪🇦 piso fuerte las pasarelas del mundo .
90’s was rich with heaps of unforgettable @ underrated supermodels !! All this while we just busy highlight on certain supermodels like big 5 supermodels , the trinity etc as we forget that there were outstanding supermodels shone out too ! - Helena barquilla - Brandi Quinones - The impeccable Yasmin Ghauri - Helena Christensen - Kristen McMenamy - Gurmit Kaur - Nadege Du - Nadja - Katie Holmes - Beverly Peele - Amber Valletta and many more !!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yasmeen Ghauri was equal to if not above the big 5. She along with Naomi basically created the 90s catwalk and is definitely the best Walker of all time which even Naomi agrees to. Naomi is a close second and the only Walker that could walk with Yasmeen and not be outshined.
That's why I clicked & I'm sooo glad I did, I hadn't heard of her before. Their faces are similar & they're both dark with stunning figures, but their modelling styles are so different yet super striking. Also, Helena looks like Monica Bellucci in some pictures/at certain angles.
She always gave me some Yasmeen Ghauri vibes. Very feline and dramatic presence with one of the best walks, if not the very best. Nothing bland about her and very chameleonic and versatile. In my top 5 of 90s models (Yasmeen Ghauri, Nadja Auermann, Eva Herzigova and Shalom Harlow )
I just read an interview with her. She was bullied at school by kids who called her a monster, so when she was told she could be a model, she thought she it was a joke.
She is beautiful, talented, charisma i love 90s runway models walk stylish show the personalities but today runway boring just walk with the same way never see talented every models
I Remember watching fashion TV wishing for the day i could be a woman not a Little girl and look and feel like this. Now i'm 27 and guys...it's here i did It! 90s supers became My inspo
I totally agree she would have looked fantastic in Versace .. and with that walk and personality .. imagine her, Naomi and Yasmeen walking together .. it would have been electric ..
Once of twice she walked for Karl Lagerfeld, but never for Chanel. Versace was the other brand that she never worked for. Otherwise, she did everything those years.
One of Helena Barquilla’s greatest moments is on the Givenchy Ready-to-a-Wear Spring/Summer 1997 collection, where she saunters down the runway as if she’s walking back home after having made love to her lover. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9tth8hShCfY.html
Helena Barquilla fue menos conocida en España, pero a nivel mundial lo fue mucho más que Eugenia y Nieves, desfilando para prácticamente TODOS en aquellos años gloriosos.
