@@Merecir That'd be pretty awesome! Honestly, I'm hoping for a Rithmatist sequel (hopefully still called The Atzlanian). The book is probably Sanderson's most-requested sequel now that we have The Lost Metal, Alcatraz 6, and Stormlight 5. (Third place was probably the Warbreaker sequel.) The break Brandon took last month after finishing Stormlight 5 reminded me of November/December 2021 when Brandon finished The Lost Metal (and Defiant too IIRC), and was sort of "spinning his wheels," with no progress bars being updated. In reality, he was writing The Sunlit Man. I think that's the same thing that's happening here. Instead of working on the 3-4 things he's supposed to work on - White Sand novelization revisions, Isles of the Emberdark revisions, non-Cosmere short story and novella collection, Mistborn Era 3 outline - he's working something else, something that will refresh him and "get the fans off his back," so to speak. If that's the case, the Brandon would have spent the month of June researching Aztec and Mayan cultures, reviewing his own notes and outlines, and creating a new outline. For the month of July, Brandon would get a solid start on the book on vacation, and then would return home and finish writing the book between revising other projects. Granted, this could also work with a completely new standalone book, not just the Rithmatist sequel.
Take some time Brandon. We adore your commitment to Secret Projects and Stormlight. We also didn't want you to burn yourself out. Enjoy some vacation (even without secret project 6 and 7) to spend time with your family.
I would love to see a prose version of White Sand. Regardless, I’m not as excited as most people seem to be. Despite White Sand possibly working as a strictly prose work, I thoroughly enjoyed the graphic novel version. I know I’m in the minority but I would rather have a new story instead of another version of an existing story. A new story for instance set on Taldain or Threnody could be much more interesting than a recap of White Sand. Granted, I do love the graphic novel format and am biased for that reason but I think that the graphic novel is fine as it is. While I will be excited for White Sand 2.0, I think it’s fairly unnecessary.
@@MisterSketch4 I think the main reason he is doing it is because Taldain is going to be important to the Cosmere and a lot of people ignored it since it's not a novel. It would be cool if the Cosmere had different stories in different mediums but since White Sand was a random one-off I totally understand him bringing it in line with the rest of his stories so that you can experience it all in a single format.
Yaaaaay vacation! Have fun with your family. I love your work life balance. I need to get better at that. Thanks for all the books! Rithmatist 2 and 3 please. Just finished it today and it is awesome.
Hello Mr. Sanderson, I think you cant even do something about it. But the German audio Books of mistborn 1-3 are unavailable. I already ask Audible/ Amazone but they cant say why.
A photo of your bookcase wall (or green screen) and a tablecloth on your desk and you can film updates wherever you are and no one would know! As always, thanks for the update.
Is there any way how to add The Way of Kings Leatherbound - Signed to my order after I paid for the Words of Radiance leatherbound? Or will there by another chance to get it in the future? As I'm not from America, it's very difficult for me to get Brandon to sign it for me in person. This is something I would love to have in my collection. Thanks.
I believe that last we heard, Brandon was revising Janci's draft for the first book, but since he hasn't mentioned that in a while I'd assume he's passed it back. From the State of the Sanderson 2023, they are expecting to release Skyward Legacy 1 in Spring 2025, though that may change with Isles of the Emberdark also being scheduled for Spring 2025.
Stormlight 5 is already the size of like 4 average novels, plus the 4 secret novels, and then the NEXT secret novel…you’ve written more in the past years than most authors do in a whole decade
It's terrifying when you do the actual math. Since Stormlight 4 in 2020... Stormlight 5. Four secret projects. Fifth secret project that will be out a few months after Stormlight 5 A Mistborn book. An Alcatraz book with a co-writer. Two Cytonic novels. Four Cytonic novellas with a cowriter. Four audiobooks with cowriters. A children's book. And a video game.
Unpopular opinion: I hope the lightning will match the thunder. 10 days until the end seems awfully anticlimactic for what was hyped to be basically the end of the world. We got these epic descriptions of past desolations of magnanimous proportions and devastating outcomes, meanwhile the wars that happened have been some scuffles. No serious impact except some moving borders. I’m hoping something big will happen even if it means that everything will go wrong.
There were some signed versions sold through retailers a few weeks back, but those went very fast. Dragonsteel will be selling the rest of the signed Wind and Truth copies on their store sometime between now and December. They haven’t announced a specific time yet. That’s pretty much your last chance to get a signed copy, without buying second hand or getting Brandon to sign a copy in person. They have about 10,000 signed copies, but many of those will also go to people who bought Nexus tickets. So basically keep an eye on Dragonsteel social media, they’ll announce when the signed copies will be available for sale.
Is there a way to pre-order a copy of Wind and Truth to pick up in person at Nexus? I've seen pre-order links to be mailed your copy and for signed copies/merch at Nexus, but nothing for an unsigned book at Nexus
I think there was the ability to buy a signed bundle when you bought your ticket. But I am not sure, I didn’t get a ticket. If it wasn’t available when you bought the ticket, I think Dragonsteel will offer you the chance to buy a signed bundle ahead of time to pick up at the Nexus. Keep an eye on Dragonsteel social media for announcements about that.
Your address will be locked just before fulfillment shipping begins. It will remain open until then so you can update it if anything comes up or you move, etc.
So im getting to be a big fan of Sanderson. Could someone please explain this backer thing to me? Id really love to be involved, but i cant find anything on it. Help me support my favorite author pls!
This is from a March campaign: www.backerkit.com/c/projects/dragonsteel/words-of-radiance-leatherbound The campaign is over at this time. After rewards are fulfilled, many will eventually be available from DragonsteelBooks.com if there are enough inventory left over.
Talking to some friends today and I decided to just put it out there... Does anyone else here think with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY, that Brandon would make for a great president? He's responsible, has great time management skills, caring and compassionate, goal oriented, likes to help the little folks... And he finds creative work around for problems... I'm making this a serious question because as a country we have a serious problem with out current selection.
