ARR is from another planet when it comes to music. Other songs from other music composers looks like kindergarten rhymes after listening to ARR songs. His music is so multi layered with so much going on in absolute perfect harmony. Every time you re-listen his song, you discover some new instrument, deep down somewhere. ARR is a rare rare diamond. Absolute respect.

Pleasantly surprised with the honest answer, in fact, without trying to be diplomatic. In local Tamil dialect, it's called "Gethhu" P.S. The ppl make the cover get recognition because of ARR not the other way around. The original sounds much better than any of the covers that we hear. Because ARR perfects every song he composes.
@@AdhiNarayananYR The fact that these artists decide to make ARR song cover makes them special for me. I follow a page on Facebook dedicated to ARR Covers for close to 8-10 years now. I am happy that these cover artists are getting a bigger platform through this web-series.
@@dnshvaidya I agree with this comment but not with the main one. I’m a musician too. And as a musician when I play an ARR song I don’t do any favour to ARR. and the ppl who listen appreciate it just because the original is so damn good.
You are showing us the legends speak about true talented The A R Rahman. He has been my God since my childhood. I spend minimum 30% of my every day's life just to listen to his music. I really want to live for many more years just to listen to his music which gives me the greatest pleasure. The greatest gift I got is his music.

You were playing all the Ar. Rahman songs are wonderful hits in Tamil also why you did not play through the Tamil. Everybody knows what the Tamil language is worldwide and I have respect for other Indian languages also.

ARR has made music soulful and a different sound for the way we used to listen...the chords or the BGMs have come to forefront...no offense to the other music directors..out of the box music..salute to him and his sensibilities...God gifted human being and blessed to be hearing and enjoying his music...Ellam puzhul irraivanke...such a great line...
AR Rahman's music has a unique presence in the background score of the film that enhances the mood of the storyline and connects with the audience instantly. He has got a different style in creating his music. Commendable.
Thanks for posting this brilliant episode that brings out the creative genius of Rahman as BGM composer. Through his BGM, Rahman comes out both as story teller and dialogue writer. His BGM speaks where there is silence. In dialogues, it adds to energy and emotional quotient; the effect and appeal of scenes and sequences get immensely enhanced.In fact , Rahman's BGM turns out to be veritable piece of literature having its own idioms and phrases. 5:03 I'm a big fan of both Ilayaraja and AR Rahman (naturally)... I can't but agree with Mani Ratnam with regard to this great fact about Ilayaraja Sir... I watched a few telugu movies - not because of the hero or story but ONLY for Ilayaraja's BGM and songs!!!
Very true. Illayaraja is a Father of background score and AR is a perfect prince of BGM. I am pleased that Mani sir called out Illayaraja's name and credited him for BGM. Maniratnam is a true legend himself but still very humble.

Sorry, this was a disappointing episode :-(. Apart from the Bombay theme score, others were not BGM score per se. These are songs of the same movie placed as BGM at various points. There should have been more *specific* examples, other than Bombay, of BGM music elevating the scene.
what did u even listen there was bgm from thiruda thiruda (listen to it's easily the best soundtrack of all times), saathiya, look's like typical social narcissist who comments before knowing the content properly
