Kind of a slap in the face that Apple gave us the scene removal mask while Davinci includes an AI Magic Mask. Sure hope Apple catches up soon. I own Keyper, but the Background Remover does look much better.
Background removal is the absolute holy grail in videography. All these app makers really need to focus on this more than any other feature. That and sound noise removal. Do that…and you win!
Here's how I'd arrange them from best to worst: 1 - mRotoAI (It's good, but it's expensive and slow) 2 - Background Remover (Better than Keyper) 3 - Keyper (Needs updating) 4 - Scene Removal Mask (Not great, but it could be the best if used properly) But if you ask me, they all fall short compared to Capcut's magic mask and its speed."
Hi, Jenn! This message is not related to this particular video, but given the urgency of the response I need from you, I took the liberty of posing it here. I have a little problem, as follows: my FCP suddenly decided not to play audio effects that I occasionally add to my videos (rim shots, applause, etc). All of them are .mp3, and they ALWAYS played in the past. I was even surprised to see a flat line instead of the waveform when I dragged the audio effects into FCP. Initially, I thought my Mac Pro's memory could be dwindling, but no. I got plenty of space in the HD. Everything plays perfectly right now, except for the little audio effects. I saw a video about some bug that was making people change the files suffix from .wav to .caf (which is not my case, because mine are true and tested .mp3s) but I tried it anyway, changing from .mp3 to .caf. It didn't work. Have you heard of this problem before? Any suggestions on how to fix it? All the best! Claudio Lessa, in Brasilia, Brazil
I can’t say I’ve encountered this issue, at least not how you are describing it but here are some troubleshooting steps I would check: 1) Have you tested the audio files before dragging into FCP and verified that they do produce sound? 2) Do they not produce sound in the library but if you drag them onto the timeline, do they produce sound? If so, check that under Pan > Mode. If it’s set to “None” choose Stereo Left/Right (this has worked for me in the past when a clip hasn’t played audio in the past when previewing in the library). 3) Check that the volume isn’t accidentally set to -infinity. It shouldn’t be doing that by itself but who knows. 4) Try using the import function to import that samples rather than dragging into FCP - does it change? 3)
@@ElmerLa Elmer, thanks a lot for the hints! Actually, the mystery was a little weirder. The first sound effect I placed worked perfectly. The next one did not, and they showed a flatline instead of the usual waveform. At that situation persisted!... Go figure. I am definitely going to check all the possibilities you listed to see if anything positive happens. Thanks for your time and interest in helping me! I have a daily politically incorrect netcast (published here on RU-vid and X) in Brazilian Portuguese and those sound effects are always an extra touch to some of the news I present to the viewers. Once again, thanks! All the best!
@@JennJagerPro ehh respectfully disagree. it feels like 15 year old tech. Resolve has magic mask built in to the base software as well and absolutely blows scene removal mask away.
How do the "background removers" do compared with "chroma-keyers" on green/blue screen shots? Just curious if there are situations when "background removers" might actually work better than the traditional "chroms-keyers".
For normal removal of objects, tracking planar there is Fusion, it is built into Davinci Resolve and exists as a separate package, the cost of the package Davinci Resolve Studio - cheaper than FCP + plug-ins for tracking + plug-ins for color correction + plug-ins for 3D models. FCP is well suited for editing long sequences. For working with color, compositing, motion graphics - it is not designed, as it requires NVIDIA RTX graphics card + completely different software... Apple - goodbye!
I really like your transitions with the titles that you regularly create for your tutorials. The one with the box gangs, the title in 3D and in gold metal. How do you get a light effect that flashes on the title?
Follow-up: during some of the expos that you visit, are hearing any news about Apple's willingness to invest a little more seriously in the development of FCPX or have they totally given up?
@@neurxsissy the first reason is that they have fallen behind in comparison to their competitors; reason two is that Apple has left the future of major advancements up to third party developers; and the third reason is because Apple has made it hard for third party developers to continue providing products for us. I’ve had a couple of conversations with developers and they are all saying Apple doesn’t care to partner and/or care to provide support to allow developers to update and build products for their customers (they make it hard for developers).
@@JennJagerPro they have a two week trial right on their website. Easy enough to download and try it. Otherwise, it’d help understand the scope of the reviews if you said in the reviews that it was limited to ones sent to you.
