Another super awesome tutorial. It was fun to create this with you. I also published the opacity from the bottom text rectangle mask. So I get a little see through effect, when lowering the opacity.
Going to keep it real, Final Cut Pro is the worst of the Major NLE's. I only use it when I shoot in ProRes Raw and dont feel like converting over to another format so I can cut in Davinci. I say that as someone who hates the limitations of Premier Pro btw. It is like there is some conspiracy out there to only have NLEs that are only good at certain things, but not at others, so your forced to keep switching between them. But thanks for the update on 10.8. I will be skipping it however. Davinci > Premier > Davinci
@@JennJagerPro All of the other operations are working just fine, but the line spacing is not responding to anything. I did shut down my computer and left it about an hour when I went back to start it back up. Everything is now working and was able to finish the project. Thank you Jen for your tutorial on Knockout Text Animation! I find all your videos and your talents super great!!
I'm sorry to anyone who likes it, but after a decade and a half of using Adobe Premiere, I find FCPX magnetic timeline absolutely frustrating and infuriating. I honestly don't understand how anyone could like it
Hi Jenn, I've made books with After Effects before - which is very, very demanding. Motion is much easier to use and much faster. So thank you for the tutorial!! The function with a pdf file is faulty, so I use images for the individual pages. BUT there is one thing missing in Motion. The page thickness - or have I missed something??
I'm not sure why the Multicam option is not available on the desktop version of Final Cut on MacOSX but it is on the iPad. To me it seems it's much easier to control several iPhones and Multicam from a full on desktop version on a MacBook Pro.
Apple doesn't enable the Object Tracker natively for Apple Motion templates. So unfortunately I am limited with what I can do (as I am not a programming developer). So using the Object tracker wouldn't work in that situation. Really hoping Apple adds the ability for me to use object trackers with 3D cameras someday, and then I will be able to auto track stuff just like that!

In multi-cam editing have you had a clip go black or nothing on main screen but in the timeline it's fine. If so how does one fix that? If you can help that would be appreciated.
If you use FINAL CUT PRO, bye all his plugins. He does his own thing, he helps us creators and I am more than happy to pay for his work. Use the zooms and others every day with my editing. Bye them and support a good dude

Okay, so, you have to know this: I have been using FCP since the early 2000's and have been in business officially for 3 years now. I am turning out a multi-cam project with 4 cameras, each 4K at 60fps, and I finally have to start using proxy files. I knew OF them, but never understood them completely, let alone use them. I started searching, watching these large RU-vidr's vids trying to get a grip on it all, then when I came across yours, it's like my brain just CLICKED! Lol you do an EXCELLENT job of explaining and teaching in a way not many I have found on RU-vid do... That all said to say this, "You do GREAT work!" keep it up, and of course, THANK YOU!!! 🙏🏻
Wow. A bit advanced for me. I’m still on iMovie but want to take the next step. I have Final Cut Pro 10 but haven’t touched it yet. Do you offer a class that an iMovie user would logically move into without getting overwhelmed.? Thank you.
Hello!! Just discovered your channel and it's amazing. thanks very much for your videos. One question: there are some effects that can't be saved in my favourite folder because "developer blocked the effect". One of them is Rotomatic. Any solution to that? THnkas very much!
You cannot, unfortunately. That hack only works on effects that live in the Motion Templates folders, and a lot of the bigger third party companies use their own install apps that lock the plugins elsewhere. I'm hoping FCP will add a proper "favorites" folder soon!
