Chelan Lakeshore Trail HD Video Description:
Hey guys! For Memorial Day Weekend this year (2021), Tessa and I took a trip to North-Central Washington to backpack the Chelan Lakeshore Trail. We couldn’t have had a better time! The weather was perfect, and the scenery was amazing. The trip all started in Chelan where we hopped on a ferry called ‘Lady of the Lake’ that we booked about a month in advanced. It took it us up the lake (the further you get, the more remote it becomes) approximately 34 miles where we were dropped off at the Prince Creek Campground/Trailhead for the Shoreline Trail. Over the next two days, we bagged 20 miles and ascended 3,000 vertical feet. So where does the trip end? After approximately 20 miles, we popped into a small town called Stehekin that has a population of about 80 residents. It’s tiny, but peaceful. A fun fact about Stehekin is that there are no roads that lead into this little town. The only way to access it is by ferry, plane, or on foot. We chose the “on foot” option, and we’re glad we did. Once we arrived into the town, we rented a couple bicycles from a small little bike shop, and rode an additional four plus miles to Harlequin Campground where we stayed a couple nights. We relaxed, and really just took in our views of the Stehekin River in which we camped on. We eventually biked our way back into the little town, hopped on the “Lady Express” ferry, and headed back to Chelan to our car. This trip was second to none, and what really capped it was Stormy Mountain Brewing Company that we stopped at before we headed home. I recommend the Brown Ale! If you guys enjoyed this video, be sure to stay tuned for the full “Vlog” style episodes where we go into more detail regarding everything we saw and did on this trip! This is highly recommended as an early season trip. Thanks for watching!

That looks absolutely fabulous. Such gorgeous views of the water and mountains. Some nice forest and meadows along the way too. I really appreciate the crisp, clear, non-shakey clips. The music was perfect. Wonderful!

Thank you so much! Sometimes it’s hard to get the clips to not be shaky, and so the ones you see means that I didn’t trip on a rock 👌🏼 I really appreciate the words, and for your support!

A boat ride, a hike, and a bike ride? That’s some good planning right there!

Does that make it a triathlon? Aha thankfully it all worked out the way it did! If you’ve never done this one I definitely suggest it as a great early season trip. There’s a summit hike to a peak known as McGregor mountain that we really want to go back and tackle someday too. Thanks for checking out the channel today and for the comments!

Great video Dan. Planning a trip next year where we ferry to Skehekin, catch a shuttle to High Bridge, then start hitchhiking/hiking to CottonWood campsite, then start heading up to the Ptarmigan Traverse route. Once we hit White Rock Lakes we'll off-trail for a couple days and eventually get to Holden/Lucerne and catch the ferry back. Should be an adventure

Thanks Guy! That sounds like quite the trip you have planned. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit jealous - The Ptarmigan Traverse looks awesome and is on my list, as well as McGregor Mountain. Stehekin seems to be the gateway to some great backcountry adventures. Thanks for checking out the video and for commenting! Would love to have you as a subscriber if interested. Have a great time on your trip!

@@DannyJSchaefer I busted my knee going down the last few miles, but the trail was beautiful! (and hot). We got goat cheese, but ate it before we got home, it was just too good!
