@@DannyJSchaefer the remaining of Aasgard was hard but never impossible, just keep on pushing forward 😂, It took me 2 hrs to complete and I was feeling very accomplished and proud of myself, I always wanted to conquer Aasgard. The rest was beautiful, the core amazing, and finishes all with 12 hrs 50 minutes…

Oh man, you really know how to start the day off!!! Another gorgeous opening shot!!! I love the pop up with the elevation! Very nice touch! This helps people like me identify the mountain you are referring to AND gives us the height. Wow, that seems like a million miles tall from where you are sitting!!! I have to ask, with such nice conditions, how could you have slept any better? Just taking a wild guess, were there animal noises? We haven't seen any wildlife yet, but I imagine they are up there. I figured you guys would be beat after the long day of travel and sleep like babies. This is probably a noobie question, but why was your pack tied to a tree. At first, I thought it was to keep the bears out, but I noticed it was pretty close to the ground. Was it just for convenience? I forgot how small your tent is when it is packed. I remember the video you did last year on it, do you still like it? Jaw dropping scenery on the hike for sure. I think I saw an island in the lake at the 2:43 mark. I love Alpine lakes. I especially love Alpine lakes with islands! However, it might not have been an island near the shore. The tree branches could have been playing tricks on me. The trail was filled with breathtaking views. I think the 3:24 shot of you walking by the trail with the camera looking down at the lake was the money shot. The video is filled with amazing scenery, but that shot looked so cool. You are definitely the king of the walk by shot!!! I am surprised to see so much snow. It appeared to be warm out and with the sun shining, hard to believe the snow hasn’t melted away. We almost fell over when we saw the amount of ice on the lake. That was REALLY surprising!!! The low-level / ground shot of you walking up the snowpack looked pretty cool. Right out of Nat Geo. It must take a while to set those shots up. You cannot tell from the video, because they are so seamless and look perfect!!! That shot of the ice on the lake and Mount Regan in the background looks surreal. It was one of many shots we needed to pause and go back on. Between the ice and the reflections of the mountains in the lake, it made for a truly unique shot. Hehehehe, most people’s idea of a relaxing day is not summiting a mountain peak! Love Josh’s mountain chalet. Hehehehe, did that come with an elevator and a butler? Quite the tent mansion! The summit to Alpine peak was amazing!!! The trail seems to run through a snow field and the lake and mountain are on the right, with the gorgeous blue sky with those white puffy clouds. The journey is truly the destination!!! Great shot of you two starting your summit. Love the shots of the camera looking back at you with the lake in the background, then HOLY cow, the shot of Bob way in the distance looked awesome. It gives great perspective of how big that mountain is and how tiny people are. That was an awesome shot! Walking in that snow field, uphill, had to be murder, especially at altitude!!! That shot looking back at the rock field with the snow in the background was breathtaking. Hard to believe a person can make it through that!!! The 10:30 mark looked like suicide OMG!!! Walking on the ridge on all those rocks had to be tough, but the views were worth it. The water looked like a cobalt blue and the mountain peaks seemed to go on for days. The trail to the peak looked like ankle break city, yikes. One wrong step and you will turn into a giant tumble weed falling down the side of the mountain. Another amazing shot was the 11:48 mark. Holy cow!!! You had to climb the boulders twice, to get the shot of the lake in the background. NOW that is commitment!!! That shot of Bob near the edge of the peak looked like he was closer to the clouds than the ground. 😊 Man, I do not know if I could have stood so close to the edge in that wind. Yikes, that was literally a view to die for!!! Just insane, jaw dropping, and breathtaking views!!! I am speechless!!! Looks like you had to do a little rock skiing like on devil’s staircase in the White Clouds. Your feet had to be sore!!! Love the little waterfall at the bottom of the descent. I did not see it at first, but my mom noticed it. Talk about being surrounded by beauty!!! We are guessing that was footage from Josh on your return to camp. You are the king of the walk by shot, but if you went back for that shot, you are a rock star!!! We couldn’t believe how clear the water looked when you were refilling your water bladder. That is amazing. I bet it tasted great!!! You mentioned this was a 55-mile hike and the first two days you traveled a good distance, but wow the remaining days of the trip are going to be crazy. You are going to travel a lot of miles in a few days. Thirteen miles for the next leg is definitely a full day’s work!!! The outro was, as always, awesome!!! It looked like you guys had the place to yourself, how cool is that!!! Can’t wait for the next video!!! Be well and stay safe!!!

Why thank you my friend! Just got back from another long trip so I'm a little behind on comments! Glad you liked the pop-ups of the elevation and peak names! I thought it helped paint the picture a little better also. Aha sleep will always be my main struggle when backpacking. I average about three to four hours of sleep per night according to my fitness tracker. It had nothing to do with the conditions that night or any of the nights for that matter. I contribute my lack of sleep to about 25% comfort and 75% my brain. I believe you know my full-time job is a firefighter/paramedic. I work for a busy department, and my body has been trained to wake up multiple times a night to a loud alarm going off to let us know it's time to go on a call. I already sleep pretty poorly as it is on a regular basis, but throw in sleeping in a tent in an unfamiliar place.. I always just feel a little on edge and will wake up to just about anything such as a chipmunk running across our camp. I slept for about two days straight after I got home from this trip, though! Ahh! The thing tied to the tree was my bear bag! It's called a Ursack and is bear/rodent proof. All of my food is in there so I untied it in that shot to make my coffee! As far as the tent goes.. it's okay.. I'll probably do an update video on it one of these days. There's some good and bad there. There was most definitely a small little island there. Good eye. Aha so much ice still! Our winter here in Idaho went reeeal late. We were supposed to hike somewhere else this year, but the snow hadn't melted away so the Sawtooths it was! No complaints! Thanks for all the nice comments on the walk-by shots! They take some effort but the end result is always nice!! Yeah.. most people don't find summits very relaxing... nor do I!! But something in me has the summit bug right now and I absolutely love doing them! Josh's tent is huge!! You can literally stand up in it and sit in there in a chair. It's quite impressive in real life! Oh man.. Absolutely breathtaking views (takes sip) at the top of Alpine Peak for sure. The views were amazing. I wish I could be sitting up there right now. The whole summit was a little challenging with the snow but completely doable! Just took a little route finding and making. Haha the boulder and the lake shot was a fun one to get and was so worth it! I think Bob's forehead scraped a cloud for sure. Ridge walking is another thing that I have come to completely love. I always just think to myself while doing it to "fall in the direction that will be less life threatening." Aha. This one felt pretty safe to be honest. It was not nearly as sketchy as DO Lee Peak! I'll tell you what, the White Clouds trip 100% upped my confidence in terrain like that. Scree Skiing is pretty easy now, and I feel very comfortable descending in that kind of terrain. It was a lot like Devil's Staircase in some spots. Haha that was definitely footage from Josh. I yelled to him, "Josh!! Can you please record us walking?!" 😊 Yeah we only covered a few miles in the first day.. and so the rest of the trip we really put some miles on. In true form I did one other small summit as well which added some mileage. Sawtooth Lake was a beautiful place to camp that day. Thanks so much for watching and for the comment my friend!! Cheers!!

@@DannyJSchaefer Wow, you are a machine! I cannot believe you went on a 55 miler, then turned around and went on another long hike! Iron man award for sure!!!! Can’t wait to see the videos!!! Ahhh, totally get what you meant by getting a good night sleep. And to think… all this time, you made sleeping on rocks look comfortable 😊. Oh, that must be a rude awakening when a siren goes off in the middle of the night!!! I can see how you would be a bit edgy. I bet you could hear a mosquito burp! I probably would have slept for 2 weeks!!! I will need to check out one of those Ursacks for sure! Hehehehehe of all the things to think about when ridge walking... love that you are always thinking safety!!! Hmmm, if I fall, what is the best way to end up less dead! I heard a rumor that scree skiing is going to be an Olympic event in '26 😊 Danny on Team USA!!! BTW: the shorts you are posting are AWESOME! Love the dad jokes!!! We cracked up listening to those!!! They are getting a ton of views! Hopefully they increase your subs!!! Hope you, Tessa, and Lolly are doing well!!! Can't wait until the next video!
