My backup camera was almost completely black and fuzzy. I tried your first recommendation, pressing in the volume and tuning buttons for 10 seconds. The screen restarted then I shut the truck off, when I turned it back on and tested the backup camera it was working just perfectly. Thank you so much!
Awesome! Worked for my 2021 Laramie. Screen went blank after 48 hours out of the factory. You would think they would have fixed a simple issue like that in 3 years.

Dude, thank you!!!!!!!This worked on a Gen V Viper!!! I thought I was going to have to take the car to the dealer and have them tear into the car to find a loose or unplugged wire.
Hell yeah dude. Had truck for 4 days and this happened. Thought it was cuz I rushed it into reverse. Restarts work for PCs so I guess it makes sense. They should have that shit ironed out tho. Side note: had to do the two button push while in non-camera mode. If you have the camera view up it won’t reset.
Just happened to mine, too. 2021 Laramie purchased 13 days ago and I thought it was because I rushed it into reverse as well. Lol. I'll try this out when I leave for lunch.
Thank you so much! This fixed my issue. My bed camera worked fine after having my batteries undone for adding parts but my back up cam screen was all black. I added dielectric greese to the connection but that didnt fix it. Tune and volume push to reset did on my 2021 ram 3500 with 12 inch screen!✌️🇺🇲

I have a brand new 2021 wrangler. Same problem this morning. Holding the tune and volume worked for me. It did erase the saved phones but thats not a big deal. Thanks for the help!

It worked on the 12”, hold the volume and the tune button down for like 10 sec then release it and it will restart the screen, it will work right away. Thanks 🙏
I also have speaker problems at the sane time as the back up camera issues, anyone else have both those problems , I have 2019 Rebel 12” screen , out of warranty this spring so I’m getting nervous
I had been having this problem and this happened a couple of times. the dealer updated the firmware and still happens and it is frustrating. I bought a brand new auto for reliability and I need everything to be reliable. I just listed my Jeep at Carvana despite of having just 18k miles. Lesson learned. Will be going with either Honda, Toyota or Mazda. While this method works, consumers shouldn't be experiencing this.
Mine is pitch black unless you come real close during night. But During sunny day its fine. How do you fix it? Also looking for Isuzu Alterra 4x 3.0 series 2010 manual.
My journey is a 2011 and none of these worked, like nothing happened except turn the radio of and the temperature went up or down and there’s no reset in my menu. ???
Our fuse boxes will be different because I have a Jeep with the same Uconnect radio. If you open the fuse box it will have a cheat sheet on the underside of the fuse box lid. Check the fuse for the back up camera and the fuses for the trailer plugs. Mine are all within the same 2 rows bottom right of the box.
If none of those work then u will want to try this in the same order I tell you ok? Get in the truck put the key in the ignition turn key to accessories the back off repeat this 3 times!!! After doing that 3 times turn it back to accessories when ur radio turns on manually turn the radio off then back on repeating a total of 3 times!!! Next you will need to go to settings and hold the power button for exactly 17.3 second NOT 17.4 NOT 17.2!!!! IT HAS TO BE FOR 17.3 SECONDS! After that ur gonna wanna start your truck wait 20 seconds hit the power button 4 times turn the radio all the way down next turn the truck all the way off removing the key then get out of the truck stick the key in the driver side door and turn it to the left and holding it there until ur windows roll down once they roll all the way down take the key out stick it back in but this time turn it to the right and holding it there until you windows are all the way rolled back up then remove the key then unlock it open up the driver side door and passenger side door leave them open for 5 minutes next step while ur waiting that 5 minutes to shut the doors your gonna wanna run around around your truck 25 times before you start running around the truck you need to take off your left shoe leaving your right shoe on ur foot OH YOU WILL NEED TO BE WEARING 100% COTTON GREY SOCKS WITH PINK DOTS!!! if you made it this far but not wearing the correct socks... You will have to go in a put on the 100% cotton GREY SOCKS with PINK DOTS then come back outside and start the whole process over!! If you're wearing the correct socks then after you have removed the left shoe next you put your right hand into the shoe you just removed now you can start running around the truck every 5 laps your going to need to say "cheese please" then drag your left foot ( the one with no shoe) 1 lap around truck AFTER EVERY 5TH LAP (THATS IMPORTANT) making sure the bottom of the 100% cotton grey sock with pink DOTS and your foot is flat on the ground (getting the best connection) after you have done that and 5 minutes is up close your doors but in a way that you can hear the beat to ring ding dong (from movie Friday) once you have done that opens driver door piss on the foot that missing the shoe trying to get that sock soaked (the wetter the better) get into truck start it then you will need to jump out take that sock off clean all 4 tires with it after that you will need your neighbor not that neighbor the one that smokes meth get him to piss on the sock soaking it completely (remember the wetter the better) tell him to piss off and get off your property get back into truck turning the radio off then right before you turn it back on take that sock to he meth head just pissed on shove it into your mouth and start sucking that sock dry once the sock is sucked clean and dry turn your radio back on and then your camera should be working!!! If not I have another way but it alittle harder I would try this way and it should fix your problem!!! I mean the dude that made this video just got into his truck started pushing button did 150 different things then made a video explaining all you have to do is do what he did get into truck hit the radio 5 times if that don't work break the key into the ignition lmao
